The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position that it was, is now the position that it isn't. In the event that the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has acquired a variation, the variation being the difference between where the missile is, and where it wasn't. Because a variation has modified some of the information the missile has obtained, it is not sure just where it is. However, it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it knows where it was. It now subtracts where it should be from where it wasn't, or vice-versa, and by differentiating this from the algebraic sum of where it shouldn't be, and where it was, it is able to obtain the deviation and its variation, which is called error.
One cheeky thing you can do with the Fireflashes is to use the radar gunsight, it guides the missile in on its own if you lock the target first then fire. If you fire then lock the missile itself you will cause it to spaz out.
Hey Phly, Lim-5P isn't Chinese version of MIG-17, but it was Polish one. LIM stands for Licencyjny Myśliwiec (licensed fighter), at first it was just a MIG17 made in Poland, but then we made few modifications to it (versions LIM-5bis).
The thing that the A-4E did with the missile is actually something I do regularly with the AIM-9B. Because the missile you shot is small enough, any heatseeking missile can see the heat signature of another missile and go for it, effectively using an AIM-9B as a flare, chaff, and countermeasure for beam missiles.
this is in fact, the only use for the aim-9b. Unless you get a guy in a situation where maneuvering is impossible and both of you are slow and close enough
I carry rockets on a lot of shit (if the pod doesn't destroy the performance of this plane) specifically for this purpose. It's been around (using rockets as decoys) almost as long as missiles have been in the game... shame it doesn't work for tracers too (or if it does, it takes a lot of them).
Its also great for head ons if you can use the radar gun sight to lock on to your target then uou just pull up and look at the missile slam into whatever was coming for a head on
8.7 doesn't tend to get a ton of full uptiers and if you do you can only see a few 9.7s max it isn't too bad tbh. Just learn to avoid their locks and they are easy prey. Still annoying as fuck and needs to go up but I would argue all aspects ruin jets that are 9.3+ that don't get flares as you see more of them. In a down tier or slight uptier the F7 still rocks people's shit.
A tip for flying the Swifts. Stay low, and stay fast. You can turn like crazy at low altitude. And specifically for the F.7, if you get into a turn fight, Turn off the afterburner. The Swift is a design from 1948, it was not built to have that much thrust, so it can't turn when the afterburner is going.
if you put some brain and effort into this game, its actually really great! i am playing since 2013 and i just broke the 3600 hour mark of playtime (according to Steam). and i am still not tired of this game!
For weird weaponry you probably never made a video on: you could try the Schräge Musik canons on planes like the Do 217 N-2 or the Bf 110 G-4, it's a bunch of canons on the middle of the plane that aim pretty much straight up, could be fun.
Already done some vids on that mechanic. Literally just search Phlydaily Schrage Musik. You can do this before coming up with any other idea that he or anyone else has already made a vid on :)))
You should play the Char 2C at high tiers! It can get into surprisingly funky hill spots thanks to it's monstrous size (for instance, in 38th parralell you can get on the top terrace near one of the spawns by yourself)
My god, the swift is such a nice looking aircraft imo.(I think the A4E used his sidewinder to lock on ur missile, it’s something I also do against all aspects, if I don’t have any flares)
I used to fly gliders with a guy who ejected from a Swift in the late 50’s. I asked him about it and his story was simple. “Well, I was over the Channel at 35,000ft, there was a loud thump and the engine stopped so I banged out” “Did you not try to restart the engine, John, seeing as you were at 35,000ft?” “WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH……ahhhhhhhh…..WAHAHAHAHAHAHAH…fu** that for an idea, those jets never restarted.” (He also ejected from a Phantom in the early 70’s after a flock of crows decided to get airborne from the same end of the runway as him and his wingman and several went through the turbines at 100ft agl).

I use AGM(Ch series) as front F you missile in Su-22m3 I mean most F16 and F14 players think I shot somethink diffrent and they get front hit by f ship missile it's funny.
You can do this very same thing with AA 20S on the G91. Very fun to bait people into headons and then shoot a 10 kg boomstick with proximity detonation at them.
The A-4 probably shot a AGM-12 at you, at a minimum it will decoy an IR missile. Also the word you were looking at earlier is Combat Radius, the maximum range you can go while still have fuel to RTB shown as a circle.
Given how fast it was moving, that was the AiM-9B. You can lock onto other missiles from the front and occasionally it’ll actually take them out or at least confuse them.
I don't think you've have ever played with the other weird British rockets (on the channel, that is): Sea Fury with Triplex rockets, Uncle Tom rockets on the Mosquito and Firebrand and Red Angel rockets on the Wyvern.
One aircraft that I find enjoyable but also a slight struggle is the Italian top F104 since it’s a 2nd gen fighter that is at the 4th gen battle rating

The A4e likely used the aim65. It can lock targets coming straight at it if they’re not maneuvering and track enough to hit or scare them away. I use them with the premium A10 with great success since everyone assumes a missile coming from an A10 is a 9L so they end up disengaging or dumping all their flares for nothing.
It’s also great because targets with flares will pop flares in a head on and be so confident that the flares will decoy the missile that they take it to the face instead since the guidance works on picture contrast and isn’t an IR seeker.
The fireflash used to be comically good - the missile is slaved to the radar gunsight when a target is detected on it, so you could use it to do some wild things before the SACLOS missile nerf which crippled its manoeuvrability. I mean not really. As long as they aren’t aware you have missiles and you’re close enough range where they can’t maneuver out of the proxy it’s a free kill. You shouldn’t be launching the missile at someone you know will evade it anyways.

Last time i used this plane I managed to shoot myself down. Somewhere between 30 seconds to a minute after launch. Especially if it gets stuck on your own radar beam and stays right in front of you. Basically... "What is that Fireflash looking thing in front of me?"... BOOM

Brother it's the same god damn issue of planes that sit at the BRs these things like swift and scimitar should be.

Try the Sabre F-2, 8.7 is a rough br for it but I've learned 7 mins straight full speed and then straight up gets you good altitude fast, but missiles are a hassle when you can only maneuver

Brother it's the same god damn issue of planes that sit at the BRs these things like swift and scimitar should be.
"I'm a beam rider" uhh phly but that might sound.. nvm
Next challenge: kill soft ground vehicles with the Fireflashes
Should revisit like Super Mystere or other French jets that carry the AA nord, you can do some absolutely silly kills with them at insane ranges for the BR
I’d love to see you play the tiger cat in bomber hunting. I’ve had so much fun with it. Same with the 6.3 mustang and bomber hunting
Hey phly, not really anyone covering sim battles these days, top tier sim is pretty fun would love to see some featured!
sim is good fun with a vr headset and hotas
Phly you know what nowadays mig 21 with R-35 can lock at the front about 3-4 km far away but it doesn't All aspect
Try the Sabre F-2, 8.7 is a rough br for it but I've learned 7 mins straight full speed and then straight up gets you good altitude fast, but missiles are a hassle when you can only maneuver
the italian g91 has a very simmilar working missile.
semi automatic atleast,
Welcome back Phly
You wanted to play a rare vehicle that you didn't play before
Here my request:
Back to business:
HEY Phly
can you play the Hawk III please?!
>For that Dude that has requesting that for years now<
My Request:
Btw i saw you have the M48 Suuuuuuuuuuper but you didn't even made one vid about it so why don't you do
M48 Super aka Go-Kart Patton (at least in arcade PvE🙃) And because you want to play a combination take the IL-28 out with its FAB 3000 for some multikills
Day: 125
-no Phly Decal
-no Tigor
Imagine flying the rare swift F.7 but not using the British heart skin
I love how weird early British missiles were.
Not just the early british ones. The US and the russians had some really weird early missiles but they're not implemented atm AFAIK.
Ah the British "AAM" that stand for Anti- Anything Missile
Yayyy the fireflash finally gets some love
Day 491: Phly, I challenge you to get 8 kills in one game with the SU-5-1. This MBT/Tank Destroyer is severely underloved in your channel.
Day 69 of me asking you to shut up
12:08 it's not Chinese, it's Polish and used by the Germans
The early Cold War British jets are the best looking vehicles in the game.
Well, maybe not the vixen
G91 with AA Nords is pretty cool and you get 4 of them 😊
It's flaps are dual purpose air breaks, very high rip speed
Phly
Please play the C13T90
You played the C13 with the 60mm dart
But the 90mm low pressure gun at 6.7 is nuts
And it’s Fiat brother with the same turret makes a great backup vehicle, as they are basically the same, just 1 has tracks
Day 150 or something idk, i stopped counting
Now use it to hit tanks cause 7kg of HE GO BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I'm excited to play this vehicle, I'm almost done researching it!
I don't think you've used the AA Nords on the premium German G.91
Arrow key/numpad guided A2A missiles
