La-5FN (recently buffed, btw), Yak-3U, XP-50, P-51C/F-6C, F2H, Su-11, to name a few, are probably tier for tier better than something like the Spit Mk24 and Yak-9P.
@thesnazzycomet It no longer locks up passed 500kph. It now pulls similar to the La7. And its cannons hit so hard. I can rack up 3 to 5 kill games almost every single match in it. Its by far my favorite plane in the game
6:29 on Bf 109 F-4 and later 109s just use manual engine control, it is quite simple. Just set oil and water radiators to 60% and forget about overheating. Prop pitch is automatic on the Bf 109 so you don't need to worry about that. Also, if you need to quickly slow down either in a dogfight or before landing, you can manually set prop pitch to 100% and you will decelerate like you have an airbrake. This only works on the 109s and maybe some other German planes, on all of the others the effect is much smaller. Oh, and make sure you do this with 0% throttle or your engine will break in seconds.
I like the RE series in general especially the RE 2005. The REs have the same wing type as the Spits with combat flaps. I like both Spits and the slowish REs so its a win either way.
Solid video! Don't disagree with any of your picks but I gotta throw in for the F4U-4 and 4B. I have a massive soft spot for the corsairs, I will admit, but their combination of firepower, speed, and overall agility really captured my heart. They also fit comfortably in at 5.7, which is in a really great state in Sim right now

Nice video! In the spitfire section, could have included the LF MKIX in br 5.7. This variant is absolutly criminal. Out climbs everyone, turns better than (almost) everyone.
@@Akuma_Z F and LF overheat the same, if you judge by the amount of fuel remaining by the time it does - don't. LF has higher boost pressure at +25 lbs compared to F's +15 lbs, meaning it consumes quite more fuel per minute
Also I'll agree with the "best looking" part, LF is just right in that golden medium between the old-timer Mk.I and heavy, bulgy and optimized Mk.24. More power and weapons, but keeps the classical outline and features, just a thing of beauty
BB1 is such a secret little A10 haha. I love that plane. It’s good in Arcade against like hour old players, it’s good in realistic against people who never see it coming, and it’s ridiculously easy to use in sim too
My personal favorite aircraft currently (I've only played US air) is the A2D-1. Not only does it have a nice bomb load, it also has a tendency to eat anything that underestimates it for breakfast. It out-climbs (34.4 m/s of climb rate unladen) and outruns most props (with a top speed of nearly 800 km/h) and out-turns most jets it can face. Four 20mm autocannons have a tendency to make quick work of most things and since it's a turboprop, it gets prop acceleration. Since it's a strike aircraft, most players take one look at it and assume an easy kill (especially Me-262s, my favorite kill padding materials) and then quickly find that it's either slipped out of their grasp after scurrying to a higher altitude or they've lost a wing after getting slow and low while the shark circles above. It also looks goofy, which is bonus points in my eyes. Second favorite is the F8F-1B. The F8F-1 is a dream to fly after having to deal with the pure BnZ playstyles of its predecessors but its four .50s feel a little underwhelming. Enter the F8F-1B with 20mm autocannons that turn enemy planes into fireballs. Third is the A6M2 (US), which is great for CAP in GRB because it's a lot easier to force a dogfight in the comparatively constrained confines of GRB maps and most players are pretty new and don't know how to deal with a Zero. Fourth is the XA-38. It's deathly allergic to CAP, only really useful in GRB, but M61 shot from above hurts and four 500 lb. bombs is pretty nice at 3.7. Fifth is the F6F-5 which has really grown on me. Still can't really climb worth a damn, but the 2000 lb. bomb is nice and six .50s really hurt at 3.3
I would have added the Canberra mk8 with the cannons... I regularly get kills with it on top of the bombings...it turns like hell, only the Komet can outturn it.
The French helldiver is super powerful for it's BR and its at tier 3 unlike its American cousin which means you can use it for events. Putting gun pods on it and getting into turn fights is very easy for it if you know how to dogfight because even with the gun pods it can out turn some fighters. Only issue with it is it's climb rate and top speed which is offset because of it's bomber spawn. I've personally gotten up to 5 kills with it and I'm mediocre at the game. I would suggest playing it for your next video as it's a lot of fun. Thanks for the videos @thesnazzycomet !
I haven't played it in a while but i remember the Cannon 'Stangs (Mustang MK I / "P-51") being really good. A plane that i have recently played and found to be really good, much better than what i remember, is the french VG 33C. it does have kinda linited ammo, but the Hispano 20mm rips everything appart at it's BR, and the MAC 7.7mm likes to set things on fire. then you got a seriously good engine and very surprisingly good maneuverability
Tips for 109F4. Play with manual engine control and slap radiators on 100%. Don't mount gun pods (It's adding 200kg, that's why it don't turn. Without it you can energy trap and dogfight in vertical basically anything but bearcat)
@thesnazzycomet naaah. It's just one button to activate, second to activate manual radiators and 2 buttons to slap radiators. Prop pitch is automatic in 109. In rest planes slap it 100%. Mixture is not modelled in wt. Also just one button to change supercharger gears. 109 have this automatic. I have this all on numpad
The ones I can literally play all day and night and not get bored are: Spitfire Mk IIa, Spitfire F Mk IX, Yak 3, La-7, SBD-3, F6F-5, Bf 109 F-4, I-15 M-25.
For me, the Zero would've been on the list at least at the 3rd place. But I am biased because I played with every variant in the tech tree and I learned to play planes on that fighter. I can be a real menace if you play it right
I’m glad it isn’t just me that thinks the 109 F-4 absolutely slaps. Especially with the extra 15mm cannons. It’s an excellent energy fighter. Anything you can’t out-turn you’ll outrun or out-energy it. In terms of K/D it’s been one of the best for me
Attacker mentioned, rejoice! The one plane that really grew on me once I started *really* flying it as my main CAS option alongside the AVRE; finding out that it's not just immensely fast but also actually turns better than 262s you encounter en masse was a real eye-opener. It's also the plane that taught me to not suck at very prolonged turn fights because despite being a jet it still somehow hangs with most props as long as you play your cards right. Truly fell in love with the ugly creature (because let's be honest it ain't a looker)
Honestly surprised that the D30/H5 Mustangs didn't make the list. 6x .50s with the M20 tracers can and will shred everything in front of them, mixed with pretty stellar flight performance for their respective BRs.
I havent played in a while but gotta say id pick the mig-3-15 (I hope thats the right one) specifically the one with 12.7mm gunpods The flight performance is insane at its tier and it gets an interceptor spawn. It has its weaknesses like easily ripping wings in a dive and bad turning but the acceleration, firepower, and climb rate was way too insane to overlook when I played it.
For me the planes that lacked in hornable mentions: yak 3U, Yak 2 kabb, bf 109 B-1 (and the one with 20mm), the Bf 109 F-1 (my personal favorit), the 4.7 20mm spitfire and the 3.3 A6M zero
@thesnazzycomet even if you did it probably wasn't going to make the list :v. But in my opinion it deserves it's own video because it's big, fun, has many guns and has a cult following. Not objectively good but damn fun and I recommend everyone buy it.
P-51B/C should be on the honorable list at least. That thing is absolutely busted at 3.7. I have a K/D of like 33:1 with the French version. It basically has a D-10 like performance but with more maneuverability. The only downside is that it has 2 less 50.cals. Otherwise It's a better plane at 3.7 instead of 4.3. If you do the math the power to weight ratio between D-10 is C/B versions is pretty much identical.
@@panther-nk2hnyup, the mustangs which aren't a J26 or D/H model are usually the original Allison engine. I wish more people like you tried the Allison 51s because they are stronger than you expect especially the cannon ones
@ the C-10 in the US tree, as well as any variants of it in other nations, has the Packard (license built Merlin) used in the D model and after. The only Mustangs in game that have the Allison are the P-51 Hispano and the A-36. As for performance, the Allison Mustangs perform rather similarly to the P-40 Warhawk from earlier in the tech tree that uses the same engine.
@@warriorwon1 The only P-51 that had Allison engine was the original A version. P-51B and C are pretty much the same just made in different factories and they already have the Packard engine that the D versions have. The reason they are so good in the game is that they are 300 kg lighter. So they turn, accelerate and climb better.
The Spitfire Mk.24 could have been more OP Originally it was meant to have Mk.5 hispanos but in war thunder we got the converted version instead (converted from mk.22s)
Imo (so it means nothing) I find the 5.3 seafire F Mk XVII to be my favourite op aircraft at its tier and even an upteir. It's a low br griffon engine so it's fast and being a member of the spitfire family it turns so well. Never see anyone else use them either seriously underrated plane
I used to play the Spitfire mk 24 in ground RB. As this thing can do everything your able to put ur bomb on top of everything and then proceed to hunt down ennemy aircraft
8:42 Yak-9P is a solid plane but IMHO Yak-9U is just better. It is lighter with the same engine, meaning faster, more agile, and better climbrate, and it has a lower BR. The guns are worse, of course, but I don't feel like trading performance and BR for guns, especially since a ShVAK and two UBS's are already enough for me.
6:45 i had always assumed "trop" was short for "troppikallerluftafartzmachinkanonwaffer" or some other sort of German wordparagraph thing. Today I learned it simply means it is designed for warmer weather!
The French G4’s deserves an honourable mention. It’s not busted in air rb but in ground the amount of ordnance u can take is oppressive. 114 400mm pen heat rockets and 3 1000lb bombs at 6.0 is ridiculous. Esp in a plane that can dogfight well after u drop it all
7:14 i fking hate that thing, as a German and Japanese player, Hornets are easily the worst thing you can see. You're on a Ta 152? There is no way you gonna climb over him. You're on a Ki? Good luck being BnZ without mercy and don't even try to catch that shit.
When stock Spitfires are the worst planes in the game cause they are missing sometimes up to 35% engine power. CAUSE UNLOCKING THE DAMN FUEL IS A RANK4 UPGRADE. Tho once you unlock it every single one of them is insanely fun!
back before they got nerfed into oblivion, I would take out the SB2Ms (the 103 specifically) and dogfight people. They used to be able to turn on a dime
I fly strictly Air Sim on HOTAS. My best aircraft is clearly F4U-4B. It has power, decent maneuverability and armament. I prefer it to Bearcat as for some reason, WT planes that are supposedly best turn-fighters have some strange twitchy behavior making it hard to aim (I quite hate the Israeli 5.0 spit that is great on paper but disappointing in flight). Corsair is just the right balance.
Per tier until Rank 6 (missile thunder is trash so for me there is no higher rank). Tier 1 : F3F-2 Tier 2 : P-38 and Mig 3 Tier 3 : J2M2 Tier 4 : Spitfire LF MkIX Tier 5 : Kikka and F-86s Bonus honorable mentions : reserve plane : I-15 M22 (this has a WEP if I remember correctly) tier 6 : F-104A/C, this plane is fast and can still dogfight a bit
i actually prefer the G6 rather than the F4, it has the most diverse loadouts among all 109s, 30mm guns, 20mm guns, 500kg bomb and also 210mm rockets, its not too heavy like the later G10 and K4 but still packs a punch, i love using the rocket to hunt hellcats in GRB and smack careless CAS players with it
no wyvern = poo list the Wyvern singlehandedly shits on the meta and can ignore the enemy team while killing all ground targets and wins the match on tickets before anyone can do anything about it
The F4 does have one thing to fear... The Yak 3! Insane climb rate, turns good, pretty decent guns. Its only downside is ammo count and a low dive speed. Otherwise it is an absolute MENACE at 4.3.

1 have top 10, but no ranking F86 sabres all. Very funny playstyle Bf109F4 Yak3P/yak9P Mig17 dont fit the meta but the pure flightperformance is OP A7M zero with speed and ammo N1K2 real allrounder, can turn, fast, killer guns, ulimited ammo, very good at ground rb too T-2 most funny jet for me Tempest mk2. Im not a spitfire fun Sea hawk fast turn deadly cannons G56 ultimate dogfighter superprop
For me, one of the best plane on this game is the AYIT, the A4 skyhawk at 9.3. Super nimble with a lot of different way to take down ennemy planes. AAM, gunpod, AGM, bomb, rocket pod, countermeasure .... i probably forget a lot ^^
7:58 really? ive been using the french meteor for a couple of weeks but those 4x20mm with air target belt just doesnt do anything, i can see those hit markers on the crosshair flashing like machineguns, like landed 50 more shells into a jet in a burst and they all hit cause i can see the hit markers, but then the enemy mig15 has recived like no damage at all...
This list is quite lacking, you missed some pretty obvious choices: BI, He-100, P-39N, Wyvern... Some honorable mentions could be be: Su-11, Yak-3U, Yak-3 107, P-51H, Ta-152H, XP-50, Pyörremyrsky, F2G, J2M2... - The I-15 is good vs reserves but gets wrecked in the slightest of uptiers. Only good versus noobs - The F8F has atrocious MER, and the rudder compression kills its potential in BnZ, it's strong but handicapped - The 109 F4 is solid but it is outmatched vs the XP-50, Yak-3, Pyörremyrsky and Wyvern - The Hornet is brutal to fight in any prop but its maneuverability makes it unreliable at securing kills - The Spit mk24 mostly faces jets and lower-tier props like the Yak-3U and P-51H match or beat it
@@planesrkool2727 the Spitfire 24. Technically the Do-335 B-2 is faster than the hornet by 1mph but it must be a busted stat because it’s way too heavy and sluggish to actually reach 490
@@thesnazzycomet The Do-355 B-2 technically does reach that speed but you need to completely cook your engine. I've reached it in test drive by basically spawning the Do-335 at the altitude necessary and with 700 km/h. In an actual battle, at the altitudes people fight, the P-51H is the fastest piston plane. It's the fastest at sea level with no radiators (678 km/h, tied with the F8Fs) and at all but fairly high altitudes where fights simply don't take place at anymore, and obviously the P-51s all have extremely low drag radiators so you lose something like 20 km/h of top speed with radiators fully deployed where the engine simply won't overheat. The P-51H can basically go at its top speed for as long as it has WEP which it does for 8 minutes and a half.. Of course, the original commenter said "the second fastest prop" so to be annoying the A2D is the fastest prop and the Do-335 is the second fastest.
i would not trade in the flight performance to such an extent that my yak now loses a dogfight to a p51d especially since shvak is already very good + yak3p is at the same br

You'll still overheat on WEP, but in regular flight even with auto controls I never had it overheat
IMO the Re. 2005 is one of the best. It turns so unbelievably well, and despite getting nerfed heavily, MG 151s still hurt.

I think the zero with the floats is the best a6m as long as you remove the floats by scraping the airfield or diving really fast.

Re. 2005 and the g series of planes and even the sm91 have the highest kds out of all my planes. I do EXTREMELY well in italian fighters
For me the planes that lacked in hornable mentions: yak 3U, Yak 2 kabb, bf 109 B-1 (and the one with 20mm), the Bf 109 F-1 (my personal favorit), the 4.7 20mm spitfire and the 3.3 A6M zero

P-51B/C should be on the honorable list at least.
That thing is absolutely busted at 3.7.
I have a K/D of like 33:1 with the French version.
It basically has a D-10 like performance but with more maneuverability. The only downside is that it has 2 less 50.cals. Otherwise It's a better plane at 3.7 instead of 4.3.
If you do the math the power to weight ratio between D-10 is C/B versions is pretty much identical.

@@panther-nk2hnyup, the mustangs which aren't a J26 or D/H model are usually the original Allison engine. I wish more people like you tried the Allison 51s because they are stronger than you expect especially the cannon ones
@ the C-10 in the US tree, as well as any variants of it in other nations, has the Packard (license built Merlin) used in the D model and after. The only Mustangs in game that have the Allison are the P-51 Hispano and the A-36.
As for performance, the Allison Mustangs perform rather similarly to the P-40 Warhawk from earlier in the tech tree that uses the same engine.

P-51B and C are pretty much the same just made in different factories and they already have the Packard engine that the D versions have.
The reason they are so good in the game is that they are 300 kg lighter. So they turn, accelerate and climb better.
The Spitfire Mk.24 could have been more OP
Originally it was meant to have Mk.5 hispanos but in war thunder we got the converted version instead (converted from mk.22s)

Imo (so it means nothing) I find the 5.3 seafire F Mk XVII to be my favourite op aircraft at its tier and even an upteir. It's a low br griffon engine so it's fast and being a member of the spitfire family it turns so well. Never see anyone else use them either seriously underrated plane

I used to play the Spitfire mk 24 in ground RB. As this thing can do everything your able to put ur bomb on top of everything and then proceed to hunt down ennemy aircraft
8:42 Yak-9P is a solid plane but IMHO Yak-9U is just better. It is lighter with the same engine, meaning faster, more agile, and better climbrate, and it has a lower BR. The guns are worse, of course, but I don't feel like trading performance and BR for guns, especially since a ShVAK and two UBS's are already enough for me.
i would say all the soviet fighters with the Radial engine are even better. they just go and never stop.

The French G4’s deserves an honourable mention. It’s not busted in air rb but in ground the amount of ordnance u can take is oppressive. 114 400mm pen heat rockets and 3 1000lb bombs at 6.0 is ridiculous. Esp in a plane that can dogfight well after u drop it all

When stock Spitfires are the worst planes in the game cause they are missing sometimes up to 35% engine power. CAUSE UNLOCKING THE DAMN FUEL IS A RANK4 UPGRADE.

I fly strictly Air Sim on HOTAS. My best aircraft is clearly F4U-4B. It has power, decent maneuverability and armament. I prefer it to Bearcat as for some reason, WT planes that are supposedly best turn-fighters have some strange twitchy behavior making it hard to aim (I quite hate the Israeli 5.0 spit that is great on paper but disappointing in flight). Corsair is just the right balance.
I still think hellcat is better than the bearcat

i actually prefer the G6 rather than the F4, it has the most diverse loadouts among all 109s, 30mm guns, 20mm guns, 500kg bomb and also 210mm rockets, its not too heavy like the later G10 and K4 but still packs a punch, i love using the rocket to hunt hellcats in GRB and smack careless CAS players with it

For me, one of the best plane on this game is the AYIT, the A4 skyhawk at 9.3. Super nimble with a lot of different way to take down ennemy planes. AAM, gunpod, AGM, bomb, rocket pod, countermeasure .... i probably forget a lot ^^
7:58 really? ive been using the french meteor for a couple of weeks but those 4x20mm with air target belt just doesnt do anything, i can see those hit markers on the crosshair flashing like machineguns, like landed 50 more shells into a jet in a burst and they all hit cause i can see the hit markers, but then the enemy mig15 has recived like no damage at all...

This list is quite lacking, you missed some pretty obvious choices: BI, He-100, P-39N, Wyvern...
Some honorable mentions could be be: Su-11, Yak-3U, Yak-3 107, P-51H, Ta-152H, XP-50, Pyörremyrsky, F2G, J2M2...
- The I-15 is good vs reserves but gets wrecked in the slightest of uptiers. Only good versus noobs
- The F8F has atrocious MER, and the rudder compression kills its potential in BnZ, it's strong but handicapped
- The 109 F4 is solid but it is outmatched vs the XP-50, Yak-3, Pyörremyrsky and Wyvern
- The Hornet is brutal to fight in any prop but its maneuverability makes it unreliable at securing kills
- The Spit mk24 mostly faces jets and lower-tier props like the Yak-3U and P-51H match or beat it

@@thesnazzycomet The Do-355 B-2 technically does reach that speed but you need to completely cook your engine. I've reached it in test drive by basically spawning the Do-335 at the altitude necessary and with 700 km/h.
In an actual battle, at the altitudes people fight, the P-51H is the fastest piston plane. It's the fastest at sea level with no radiators (678 km/h, tied with the F8Fs) and at all but fairly high altitudes where fights simply don't take place at anymore, and obviously the P-51s all have extremely low drag radiators so you lose something like 20 km/h of top speed with radiators fully deployed where the engine simply won't overheat. The P-51H can basically go at its top speed for as long as it has WEP which it does for 8 minutes and a half..
Of course, the original commenter said "the second fastest prop" so to be annoying the A2D is the fastest prop and the Do-335 is the second fastest.
