I’m going to have to take the floor out because the cart I’m working on everything’s covered from the bottom , not exposed like the cart in the video . Thanks for making the video at least I have an understanding what I’m looking for
Replacing this parking brake lever that has the hook worn is the only sure way to repair this. The service manual states this . The parking brake latch arm, kick-off cam and catch bracket are hardened parts. Do not grind or file them as doing so will cause the parts to lose their hardness characteristics. New parts must be used. Have you ever seen a golf cart parking brake unlatch on a large hill and what happens to the cart or people behind it. I have worked on ezgo golf carts since 1996 so I have a little experience in this.
I flipped my catch plat and now the parking brake engages but pressing the gas pedal no longer releases the brake. The cam is not hitting the parking brake lever. I saw you adjusted yours, any additional info on how you did that?

Thank you! The parking brake popping up was driving me nuts. Such and easy fix!
Fine timing because I just got a 2007 with the same issue and assembly and this is just what I needed.
A list of tools used would begreat

Would have been great if you showed how you ground the notch..
I filed it with a flat hand file.
@@bryanalderton444 Thanks. I tried to do that but there is not enough room to get a file in there.
It’s a easy fix. Try flipping the plate first
How did you grind down the bar ?
@@Thoaus21 Hand file
How did you grind the bar/hook?
Hand file

I believe there’s adjustment on the brake cables as well.
Make sure your brake cable did not snap. Flipping the plate would not effect the throttle release.
