The central government has approved the extension of Kondamodu Pericherla road in Guntur-Palnadu districts to a four-lane road and has granted funds to this extent. If it was handed over to a private limited company, the obstacles to the expansion of Kondamodu Pericherla road have been removed. This expansion work sanctioned under Bharat Mala in the financial year 2022 2023 has not started due to non-grant of funds. In the end, there are doubts in the communities as to whether it will finally be completed or not. The Union Ministry of National Roads has approved the Standing Finance Committee of the Murtu Standing Finance Committee for the continuation of India's Mala Roads as National Highways under the general program.
The expansion of the road from Pericharla to Kondamodu on the Guntur to Hyderabad route is a decades-old art. It is connected with Adnaki Market Palli road at Kondamoodu and is suitable for those going to Telangana. Kondomoodu is a key route for those going from Guntur to Palnadu. Due to the priority of this route, National Highway 167 AG from Kondomudi to Pericharla near Guntur has been named. Recently, Narasa Raopet MP Krishnadevarayalu and State RRB Minister Janardhan Reddy asked the Center to release the funds as the work did not move forward as the Center did not do the land acquisition on time as agreed by the Center during the previous Vaikapa government.
This road is 7 to 10 meters wide and there are frequent accidents due to congestion. Fuel wastage also increases. If the expansion is completed, the travel time from Hyderabad to the new capital Amaravati will be reduced. The outer ring road constructed by CRDA will be connected at Sattenapalli. Officials have identified the lands assigned to private porambo by the government and after completing the land acquisition process, the state has sent a report to the center. Once the funds are received, the funds will be deposited in the accounts of the farmers and the lands will be handed over to the landowners.
The road is one of 6 8.75 meters on one side with four lane widening. 22.5 meters width will be constructed on both sides of the divider with a width of five meters and a 22.5 meter width.A 10:00 km bypass is to be constructed in Medikondur for four or five kilometers at Madam Sattenapalli.
