    Seen ads for Acidhouse pop up terrain houses. They figured out a pretty good fold flat construction method but you have to buy their manufactured ones not PDF. Great video. Thanks for sharing

    Amazing videos! I wish I had saw this videos of paper craft a couple of years ago. We switched to play online on foundry because minis are very expensive in my country. Now we can play on person once again.
    Thank you so much!

    just wanted to say a big thank you. I was stressing out trying to make this fancy terrain for dnd. Messing around with XPS foam and all these other crafts. Being able to just hit print and cut some stuff out has been so freeing. I no longer have to dread painting all these terrain bits and can focus on my cool minis.
    Amazing channel i will subscribe and follow your website !

    Love this guy's voice and commentary. Could literally listen to him talking about dirt. As it turns out I was interested in learning about paper craft as a first time GM. Great video can't wait to see what else he comes up with.

      Yeah man of course! If you're used to resin and such, paper is just such a breeze, you can bang stuff out so quickly.

    The other reason to not use buildings with interiors is that it's a lot more fun to have a town where all the buildings are bigger on the inside, you get to cram a lot more buildings into the town so it feels bigger but still have lots of space to do things inside.

    • @Jack-gs6sd
      @Jack-gs6sd  7 місяців тому +1

      Houses with balconies are super simple to make if you have the supplies on hand, just get yourself an exacto knife and some super glue! The boat is an absolute terror though, it's a great kit, but it was like a part-time job for a whole week, just a nightmare. But it feels super solid!

    I would like to tell you about Kirigami and how to make decent paper trees

  • @BaronKen
    @BaronKen 6 місяців тому

    Also, to be more in line with your space-saving binders for paper minis, have you any sources for fold-flat terrain?

    • @Jack-gs6sd
      @Jack-gs6sd  6 місяців тому

      The short answer here is: I've experimented with this intensely, and have never found a solution that works, except for my section here on "pop-up" terrain. Most of the stuff in that category packs flat, like the stuff you see in my opening on that turntable. But like, whole buildings? I've never made that work.

    Do you do any edging on your score cuts?

    • @Jack-gs6sd
      @Jack-gs6sd  6 місяців тому +2

      I don't! My big rule with the channel and the stuff I make is like "As light as I can keep my process in order to also be totally functional." For me, edging is just a step further than I feel the need to take. I have one or two edged buildings, and when you look at them from a foot or two away, you can't really tell which are edged and which aren't.

      OH SNAP!! It was this comment that made me realize that when I was younger (god, maybe even a teen?) I used to DREAM about putting these kits together but didn't have the resources. I think I mistook them with Fat Dragon, but it was definitely WWG that had the best kits.
      Wow, what a throwback, thanks man. Yeah, they'd be killing it if they were making kits today.

    • @Shatteredragon
      @Shatteredragon 6 місяців тому +1

      The forums on that page are still filled with tons of information, recommendations, advice. It was a strong community. Handle was Shatteredragon, and I used to have posts that showed how to solidify this terrain to match and rival resin and plastic terrain for durability and solid strength.
      Definitely miss those days.
