There is also a black and white colourable in version if you don't have a colour printer and want to colour it yourself (contrast paints, inks, pencils, water color and washes work great) Update: Added a new set for young adventurers!
As a father of young children that take up a lot of my time, awesome templates like this make this hobby possible for me. Thanks a million Miscast, you absolute legend!
What I adore about this is that it's such an effective way of slapping out easy terrain with practically zero effort, and does it in a style that's fun and charming. The world needs more easy options like this for us less crafty folks.
With all these scratch build and 3d printing options, we often forget how good cardstock terrain can come out with just a little bit of extra work. I still have the first tower I made out of foam core and cardstock almost 20 years ago for Mage Knight. Great use of the new studio space BTW.
i was actually toying with an idea like this, using foamcore, and printed stickers, to make cheap, easy, 3"x3" map tiles, with 1x1 grids. Use some hair spray to make it a little more solid, and you have an easy, modular dungeon tile system, that costs probably about 50 cents per tile, with cost of ink, sticker paper, and foam board. use a hot glue gun to melt some small round holes along the edges, and glue some cheap magnets, to hold them together. Or buy a giant roll of velcro, and have a velcro board.
This is by far the most dynamic hobby video I’ve ever seen. Your use of movement and space feels like an indictment of desk cam film making. Seriously impressive presentation. Thank you for this.
Instead of fussing with the spray glue (because it sucks), you can run full sheet adhesive shipping labels through your printer... peel and stick right onto the foamcore! They're fairly cheap and you can use them for all sorts of things like this!
These look great! Print and play buildings are severely underrated. Two tips - when cutting out windows, the easiest way is to nick both corners then extend the cut to the center so you're never cutting into the wall. Near perfect cut every time. Second, blender 3d (free) has a paper model plugin which lets you break 3d models down into templates, and you can find simple textured 3d models online.
This is literally the best papercraft tutorial I have seen, and I have seen.... like eight of them? I'm using this terrain for my relic blade terrain. Boss stuff! Keep it coming!
Thank you so much for these. Made a set of them in b&w yesterday since I don't have a color printer. They are filled with dodgy cuts but they're also fine. Bought you a coffee or tea, so cheers! There's another coffee/tea in it for you should sci-fi ones surface on your channel :) A whole delicious hot drink in exchange for a few weeks of hard work designing, drawing, etc. But seriously, thanks again for these really cool designs.
So. Good. Thinking of getting into frostgrave but didn't want to have to make a ton of terrain - this stuff looks great and you can fiddle with it as much as you like if you want more realism. Well done, I'm inspired!
"Doesn't look like it's from the 90s." "???s" at you in _Munda_ , _Gorka_ , and _Mordheim_ . Joking aside the aesthetic of these would go well with the hand painted _Dungeon Floorplan_ tiles from the 80s. I understand that HQ images of these long, long OOP sets can be found with a little digging.
this actually helped me a lot. I dont know why i never thought of printing out the details. My nephews and I are going to have some fun with terrain now, Thanks Miscast.
Yaaaaas! RPG and tabletop gaming desperately needs more stuff like this. Costs can be prohibitive and it's nice to have options to just HAVE things to use
5:53 Attack of the Pink Toadpires! Thanks for another fun and informative video. The buildings looks great; and would probably fit in well in game of Mörk Borg or Forbidden Psalm.
I discovered papercraft terrain and buildings two nights before DMing my first ever session and they absolutely saved my bacon AND to my chagrin managed to look much better than the intricately, laboriously handcrafted buildings I'd spent weeks working on lmao. Felt like a prank but I'd absolutely recommend pieces like this to others, budget or no
Holy shit. These look way more polished and cool than they have any right to as print outs on foam board. The designs remind me of old board games in the best possible way. Really bold and fun, but just detailed enough to look impressive and draw in the eye.
I already play frost grave and have some great terrain me and a friend made…but I can always use more! Thanks so much! You make the hobby a better place
I just wanted to say that this is amazing. I printed it all out, made 5 buildings, and set them all up in a day. My group has been playing dnd and frostgrave but we don't have a ton of terrain. This has jumpstarted my collection! Thank you so much!
Oooh you rock!!! Thanks a million for this. Im going to make an attempt at something similar for the fallout RPG that just came out / is in the process of launching from mophidius
This is perfect timing, thank you so much I needed a quick project today since I finished a bunch of models and didn't want to jump into others right away.
these are awesome thanks for sharing. damn i gotta get into frostgrave, i've been debating getting back into mordheim or warcry but i feel like this is more what i'm actually looking for.
@@Miscast good to know, yeah im mostly looking for something i absolutely do not want to play competitively, so if there's a large component that's inherently swingy/luck based im not opposed to that
ive always been put off making my own tarrain, where id have to cut cardboard, do multiple layers of paint, and other fancy things. This looks super simple & im going to give it a go. Thank you.
This video is brilliant! I do DnD as well as WH40k (Although I've transitioned to eBay and 3rd party proxies for the latter), and this'll change the game when it comes to banging out terrain. So many people need to see this.
Stonehaven Minis also has some beautiful pop-up terrain for fantasy games. A bit more work to print and assemble (expect about 1-1.5 hours per piece), but very easy to fill a table with. Highly recommend checking them out.
Subscribed because of this video. I've watched a fair bit of your content and it seems like you have some really great ideas, and you genuinely just want people to play games. I love that. Thanks for being awesome.
Just love how it all comes together and just looks amazing. Always a pleasure to watch whatever video you have put together, even better to see how you are encouraging others to dive into the hobby and create and play.
Trent where did you find the time to move into a sweet studio, renovate, AND make free terrain templates?? 😭 I love your dedication to the hobby, awesome work my friend.
I love your videos man. I don't know how you don't have more subs... I enjoy watching your videos because you are very chill and your tone of voice is very relaxing. Thanks for the vids! Looking forward to more content.
I think THIS is exactly what I'm looking for. I been drawing all my scenes on a dry erase battle mat but I wanna use some houses and trees but not pay a lot of money and I'm not too high up on doing the painting. I'd rather just print stuff out. Thanks for the video!
Looks fantastic! Such an awesome, colorful art style that reminds me of low-poly fantasy games, as well as the old cardstock Warhammer terrain from the 90s! Maybe not grimdark enough for my games of Necromunda, but awesome and whimsical for D&D and other games!
Thank you so much, Amazing free art and templates aside I really do look forward to your videos more than any other in the hobby, they are always so interesting,
I share that hatred of hot glue. Especially since I have a memory like a sieve and forget to switch the bloody gun off usually leading to a desk covered in little transparent plastic dog poo's or a burn of some description.
This is awesome! Thanks. I will use this asap. Started venturing into wargaming a little from RPGs, and it's just...so awesome. I love to craft from scratch, but it is TIME consuming. This is great 👍. Thanks!
This terrain is great! I just made some similar stuff last month using print outs from Osprey Games for Frostgrave. I'm going to definitely donate and use your stuff too!
I used a glue stick and some white foam board that has been sitting around forever. It doesn't look as good as the black but it feels nice to use some of the stock pile. Also, not having to be specific in the cuts and playing around with the kit was a pleasure.
Great video, mate! Really appreciate everything you're doing for the hobby. It's always inspiring to see someone who's passionate about something that they give back. Very inspiring! All the best and keep up the good work!!
awesome man, a great way for people to get into making you own things out of it, kitbash is king. Your so awesome dude this is such a cool thing to do for the community

I don't know why but because style of everything except figures look like from game Diablo and I love it
Startet my first COMIC with paper terrain - Please take a look :)
I love how *politely aggressive* this is.
One step away from being a Gordon Ramsey cooking video. Just needed more extreme close us and gluing things together with creme fraiche.

I'm loving the presentation. Straightforward, to the point. Don't bother about this. Just get it done. Don't over think and go!
"Its weakness is that it sucks and I hate it."
Classic.
I literally LOL'd
Wow. This is clever and actually looks great and useful for gaming. Niceeeeeeeee!
I love you immediately started kitbashing the kit that you just made. Madman hahaha
hahahah I didn't even think of it like that
Y'all should make sure you say thanks to Trent. In 1999 we had to buy the whole Mordheim boxset to get free terrain this cool.
This is why I'm a patron: you're always making cool shit like this. So glad to see a neat video on this print and play terrain!
As a fellow patron, same. I love that everyone has access to the print files. We should all have cheap and pretty terrain.
o jeez the original TJ, when i was much younger i tried to take that name. gratz you lucky sob lol
The new space looks phenomenal already, looks like such a good space to film and work in :)
As a father of young children that take up a lot of my time, awesome templates like this make this hobby possible for me. Thanks a million Miscast, you absolute legend!
How have I never thought of this? This is the easiest way to do terrain! Thank you!
too busy looking past you Trent to get another look at that workspace...
Looove the tiles, probably going to use it. Cheers
Pro tip: you can make the borders black with a marker so the cartoony look looks more cohesive

really good point. Even quick 'stand in' terrain can look 200% better with just a little extra attention

This terrain would be great for a game of Mordheim! Thanks mate!
I'm a simple man, I see toads, I click.
Also DAT NEW SPAYYYYYCE
Trent you just made my week. I've been in a huge slump for tabletop terrain crafting. This is awesome, and so are you!
Fantastic, hope to see it on the table for our next Mordheim game
And new patreon made. Just the sentiment of "Hey, people should just have an easier time playing games." Fantastic. Thank you.

This is perfect, honestly. I can see this being an awesome after-school project that then leads to some awesome rpgs!

Thank you for all your work. You ARE the force that drives the hobby forward. Thanks..
They look great, they're free, they work in almost any setting, AND they have an unmistakable Miscast style! Thank you for these!
I really appreciate the Gordon Ramsay delivery of the build instructions. Hot glue is to you as lamb sauce is to Gordon.
Hahahahahah
Best not to mix them up.
What I gathered from this: It's fine. And it probably is, thanks for the printouts Miscast!
Thank you so much! This was well done and great fun
The end product feel is very morhiem. But it looks great all the same.
Bordering the foam board with black sharpie may help with the over all look.
Dude I'm a huge fan and I've been watching your videos for ages. I would love to see your take on some gaslands cars.
I love the style of these! Would absolutely be interested in seeing (and buying) more things like this in the future.
