I remember back in the late 60's and early70's when everybody who had a muscle car jacked up the rear of their car with shackles like that or air shocks. LOL
I met Bill McKinney about 15 years ago in Golds Gym in North Hollywood. Used to see him and talk to him whenever I did. He was in probably 10-15 Clint Eastwood movies over the years. Nice guy. I was sorry to hear about his passing a few years ago. Great character actor.
captin red legs in outlaw josey wales. hes hard to reconise in that film. and the leading hilly billy rapiest in deliverance. so played the nemise to both clint and burt renolyds.
I had long shackles and air shocks on my 74 ventura and 81 camaro back in the late 80s.thought it looked tough at the time, little embarrassed now looking back.
Lone wolf Mcquade ! Alright; chrome reverse- haven’t heard that term in decades! Used to be able to buy Hertz floor shift conversions kits- ditch the column lever. Much cooler reaching down to grab the next gear- even if it was in a ‘64 144 cid Falcon. Damn, still miss that car.
Chrome reverse -- I think the "reverse" part meant the rim was reversed on the wheel hub for a deep-dish look, or something like that. And you could get chrome baby moons to fit them. There weren't many custom wheels for 6-lug pickups in the late '70s, but I found a full set of "chromies" -- still have 'em but there's more rust than chrome now...
Red 13 LOL. EXACTLY. they had bout 40 generals. most were all like tinfoil by the end of the show ,because they were already rusted and pieced back together so many times. hit a pothole and fold right up. lol . paint ,crash. paint , crash. paint ,crash. paint , crash. repeat. loved that show. thank god i was too young to drive. a lot of people probably tried that stuff. in their parents car.
I remember the first time that I saw this movie and this scene is unforgettable.
Miss the days when cars were jacked up in the back. Looks so badass...
Oh yeah, I remember those Fury's. They were big beautiful fleet cars. The Hwy Patrol used to use those as police cruisers.
this movie is just awesome!!! no cgi, no quick cuts, no long intro, just a movie about robbing a bank and finding money.
I love that engine! It sounds like a dragster.

This little scene stuck with me................I've got a 71 300..........air shocks n keystones..........cool car!

No. They only made 7 movies together.
captin red legs in outlaw josey wales. hes hard to reconise in that film. and the leading hilly billy rapiest in deliverance. so played the nemise to both clint and burt renolyds.

I had long shackles and air shocks on my 74 ventura and 81 camaro back in the late 80s.thought it looked tough at the time, little embarrassed now looking back.
I like how he is still laughing while rolling the car.
Always was a fan of the rear rims we used to call them chrome reverse, but till this DAY I am not sure if that is what they are called GREAT movie

Loved this film. The plymouth and rabbits bit was always a bit strange tho
tvtower check out the Royal Bloods video. I swear it's inspired by this.
Eastwood always gets the nuts in his films.
Jeff bridges is trying to get out of a rear door on a two-door car, which is a laugh!
Love this movie. The Chrysler is old school rodder.
I just love this engine !
Tough as fuck Fury.
Apparently the car was perfectly drivable after the right rear wheel broke off...
Those shackles tho....
Ugly-assed car; wicked engine...
Hail to the TWEEKER nation!
I haven't seen shackles on a car in decades.
the dude..........with dirty harry
Good question. It's the miracle of the movies
I'm going to build one.

dalexkom Maybe it was like "Christine".😈😄
the American Graffiti 55 provided the engine sounds
The vroom vroom sounds disappear when Thunderbolt is driving the car.
yep good catch!
I heard the 55 also provided the sound of the trans am in smokey and the bandit
Absolutely love those effing cars. Cooler than cool. And you can put a Honda or a Subaru in the trunk.
Cherry bombs for the muffler? That was the rage back then.
HeadShotSongs N Glass packs they culd make any V8 sound awesome
All the way into the late 90's.
I had 2 on my 72 LeMans, made that car sound like I had 10G in the engine.
Luv her who posted!
how did they drive away when they broke the rear wheels in the crash?
yeah lol
Scooter Mike a look a like car
Yeah, I noticed that to. It was torn right off.
The same way the General Lee drove away some 1000 times ......
that's when cars were well made.
Note the odd exhaust pipe configuration at 0:52. It does look like the pipe is routed back into the passenger compartment.
You see this steering number right here, I put that on especially myself. LOL
David Freiburger was in this movie?
ramairgto72 he was when?
That Mopar has a Corporate 10 bolt rear end under it instead of the 8 3/4" it should have had under it..
Love how they always use a manual transmission sound for an automatic equipped car, because automatics are so superior...
Jeff’s teeth is clean and strait
“Glass head like all these nuts”
Does anyone know what all McKinney was saying in this clip?
This here car doesn't go to Aintree. You boys took the wrong turn.
ha ha forgot about this movie
im not sure about any of this
2 different cars.. the rear quarter pannel is not dented.. or they totalled it to the end of the making of the movie of showing this car..
In that time, no protection for animals?
Sums up Mopar guys rather well..
All of them..
ramairgto72 Love it!
I swear, you let ONE raccoon ride shotgun, and people never let you forget it...
how are they driving that car after that rear tire got ripped off in the rollover?
immrnoidall The same way the General Lee looked like new after bending up it's fenders in a jump.😄
Red 13

and he was captin red legs from outlaw jouse wails, amung other rolls he was in.
No, that was Dean Wormer in Animal House. Different actors.
Joe Smith, WRONG. Bill McKinney was Capt. Red Legs Terrell. Dean Wormer (real name was John Vernon) played Fletcher in The Outlaw Josey Wales.
He was also the hillbilly that raped Beatty in Deliverance! Neat, eh!
The one Burt Reynolds shot with the arrow
He was in the Shootist, John Wayne's last movie. He was in 7 movies with Clint Eastwood,
yea rear tire went flying off but all fixed ready to go ...movie magic
dalexkom No, it was "Christine's" cousin!😈😄
"Beggars can't be choosys"
☝😊
...so...how did they fix the car.
1973 make ..... the film was released in '74 ....... the car's body has the appearance of a vehicle that has been roadworthy for several decades?????
Sooo, no bunny rabbits were hurt in the making of this movie ?
Just their pride.

Just remember not to pick your teeth!
LOOL THE FUCK ^^
Damn that is one ugly car.
This scean never made any sense.... pure idiocy.... they should have shown a bad batch a shine in the trunk to explain this idiots behavior....
Dan Banks -We always thought that hillbilly was wacked from suckin exhaust fumes..and generations of inbreeding. Sure was a weird scene, tho.
