Hi... In my collection I have over 500 vintage saxophones and is therefore very difficult to play them every day but the passion for this pipe is great and mysterious so let's say I play them very often. Many of them are quite difficult to play and require a lot of practice. Thank you for your comment... :-)

I thank You for your comment. I am a saxophonist, collector and historian for this reason my job is to "own" a saxophone at 360 degrees, from every point of view ... from that of historical knowledge, timbre, techniques, even emotional ones ...
Un lavoro straordinario. Tanta qualità nelle interpretazioni e un enorme contributo alla musica, alla cultura, all'arte e alla sua diffusione. Complimenti e grazie per la condivisione Attilio. !¡!
Hello, thanks for your interest! In addiction at the two DVD, there is a booklet with details and pics of all instruments, their caractheristics, history and general infromation about the vintage saxophones.
è incredibile quanto versatile sia questo strumento ... e pensare che non lo troviamo nelle orchestre classiche a causa delle animosità personali è straziante
Hello! Thanks for your opinion. In my Saxophobia performance for each saxophone I use a particular and specific mouthpiece that enhances the timbre of the instrument and is particularly suitable for the pitch. Infact many of these instruments haven't a pitch with the 440Hz (the bass and soprano tarogatos, the Adolphe Sax Father tenor and others ...). For the tenor sax Conn Chu Berry Artist I utilize a Selmer Soloist short shank hard rubber mouthpiece modified by the great Ralph Morgan.
If you like I realized a professional double DVD (it include a booklet with the history of all the saxophones) with a live recording of more than two hours of my concert. The sale price is 30 euros plus shipping cost (payment by credit card or Paypal). Thanks again for your appreciations and Regards. Attilio Berni
The Rothophone is in effect a sarrusophone with the shape of the saxophone. In my collection I own a quartet of them (alto, tenor, baritone and soprano), usually I play the baritone and the alto, both have a very distinctive sound. I play them with a saxophone mouthpiece and with a double-reed.
Interessantissimo video.
Hello, sincerely in my experience the Rothophone has a very similar timbre, beatiful and very focus, to the Sarrusophone but only if you play them using a double reed. Using a single reed mouthpiece the timbre is a bit more rude and also the tune isn't perfect. Thanks and ciao!
i was wondering if i can get the charts that you played in this video and if possible any saxophone exercises. By the way you are one of the most amazing sax players i have heard.
I am very very pleased with the sound of the Adolphe Sax 1864 tenor saxophone, I am interested to know what mouthpiece you were using on that saxophone ? I have a number of tenor saxophones from 1870 - 1890 in my collection (And of course a Soprilla :-) )
thank you ~ Attilio Berni ! i love the Sprano Saxophone and Alto&Tenor Saxophone,so i have the Homemade B flat sprano saxophone, because it’s test......
Hi, thanks for your message. I purchased this very particolar saxophone in US but it's an absolutely custom made musical instrument so isn't possible to purchase another of them. I'm sorry...
Maestro, I have a question about the Rothophone. it is of course very similar to the Sarrusophone developed originally by Gautrot in France. I have read that the problem with the Sarrusophone was that its high range was weak compare to the bass and midrange. In your experience, does the Rothophone have a similar problem? I have wondered if the Rothophone was really meant to be an improvement of the Sarrusophone that corrected this problem. Grazi!
As someone who has started to learn to play the alto sax, my dream one day would be to play a Grafton alto sax and the Con-o-sax but I know how rare they are. 3:39 is that a straight alto? Never knew there were any.
This us a weird question lol but I've come across a few images that show bass clarinets in bassoon form. Would you happen to know anything about that. Thanks
...and what would be the oddity? maybe you're renting a common Conn Chu Berry baritone... certainly it is not the model iI use in my show. My baritone is a Chu Berry "Artist Virtuoso Deluxe" model, fully gold plated and engraved on the whole body, from the bell to the neck, it has also the mother of pearl keys on all sides. I think it is really very difficult for a saxophone so rare to be leased, i would never do that ...
Thank you for the video Mr. Berni! I just have one question: What mouthpiece are you using for your jazzophone? And did you need to change the neck in order to get it to fit?
Hello, thanks for your interest... The mouthpiece is a special custom made saxophone mouthpiece for trumpet owned at the great Heddie Harris. For play the jazzophone I don't neeed of change nothing...
Hello, it's a Roth-Bottali baritone saxorusophone made in Italy by Bottali Company. I play it using a Reunyon basson single reed mouthpiece and with a sopranino saxophone reed...
Attilio Berni ecco a proposito del saxorusofono volevo chiedervene meglio il funzionamento di questo splendido saxofono che io ho particolarmente amato
Hello, no the tarogato is a different instrument: it's an hungarian instrument. The mouthpiece is enough similar to clarinet mouthpiece. The fingering is very similar to saxophone fingering but the tarogato is a conical woodwind as the saxophone while the clarinet has a cilindric tube.
Hi, my collection is currently made up of about 600 saxophones, 300 vintage toys and thousands of photos, accessories, mouthpieces, documents etc ... I have been a collector for over 30 years and in my life I have bought over 12000 musical instruments from every part of the world, mainly from the United States of America.
The mouthpiece is much more practical and easy but the sound is a bit awkward and rude, with the double-reed a little more complicated but the timbre is beautiful. Both have some problems with intonation on the low notes and with mechanism on high notes. The volume is fairly uniform and homogeneous in all registers. Bye!

No, it's a baritone Rothophone (also called saxorusophone). The name of the company is the Roth-Bottali (italian made).
This is great. That Conn-O-Sax is very rare, I think there are less than 10 that exist at all, and it sounds beautiful.
Thanks for the positive comment. Yes, the Conn O-Sax is the most rare saxophone in the world. It's a sort of "Stradivari of the saxophones"... :-)
Great video by a great artist with a super collection.
I thank You very much for your appreciations...

Belo belo belíssimo
Bravo
Excelente maestro! felicidades
I think it's fun that since I only have one saxophone just to try playing all of these songs on tenor sax, it works fairly well!
Dang, love the sopraninos!
Really nice playing!
Great respect!
Love this. I need to add more saxes to my collection!!!

that wouldn't be practical, though. great job!
@saxorusophone Thank you for the information. What information do you have on the DVD?
Anyone got a list of all the songs played in this video?

Okay forget the saxophones is that a 5 string upright bass
No, it is a four string as far as can be told by freezing the frames when the camera zooms in on the bassist from time to time.
@@zapatogrande1 If you pause at 1:44 it does look like it has 5 strings
