@@juanitahardy8583 Wow, where to start! Pringle sweaters are $600 to $800 each. So what if it lasts 20 years? If you have to mortgage the house to buy one, it's stupid expensive.
Amanda, you are a stunning young woman and I love your look and all wardrobe basics. Your choice of colors is lovely. Looking at your site I admire your commitment to your followers, your lists are so comprehensive and your attitude so refreshing and realistic. It's been wonderful watching you today. The bad news is I'm 74 with no real sense of style and I'm tall and have an apple shape. Would you ever consider doing a video on style basics for a mature women of a certain size ? It's been a delight to watch you today. Thank you.
Hi Amanda, these are definitely pieces that you need in your wardrobe. The only one I don’t reach for very much is my moto jacket. I don’t think I wore it at all last year. The long sleeve white tees are an absolute must. I have several and I wear those so much. I definitely need a new coat and I love the camel colored one. It is really beautiful. Thank you for taking the time in coming up with all these pieces.
Enjoyed watching this! Interestingly, the two-toned shoe was popular in 2018-2020 and I bought a pair on sale from Coach in spring 2020 with a square heel & ankle strap. Supposedly they went out in 2021 and I was sad. Then in July 2022, Kate Middleton wore them with a white dress at Prince Williams polo match! So now they’re back! I wore mine again last week lol 👗👠👛
Thank you Amanda. These essentials are dead on! All of them can work for different body types. I’m pretty short and curvy so many trends don’t work for me so the best way to rock a trend is with your accessories like handbags and shoes. And a good scarf is always stylish and classy. Great video!
I'm short and curvy too, so have you ever heard the term " column dressing"? You dress monochromatically head to toe and it draws the eye vertically. Even if you wear a contrasting outer piece like a blazer or cardigan, if your core pieces are monochromatic, it really works! Nude shoes help, too, to elongate the legs visually. BTW, I like your suggestion about rocking a trend with accessories! Great idea!
Love all the tips, nice to find someone with the same line of thought but way more experienced and ahead of the game. I have been dreaming of many of those items but the process of finding the brands that have the style, quality and price point you expect can be tiring. This video took me a few steps ahead! I realize that I save so much more having these staples good quality items than a lot of random cheap things I easily get sick of. Each season I find myself buying less and less things because I’m content and confident about what I already have.
Hey there Amanda! Thank you for this video, super helpful! For your leather shoes I would recommend you putting tissue into the long pointed part (of the leather loafers) so they do not crease as much when not being worn. I read this tip when watching a men's clothing video for my husband actually! Much love!! XOXO
I got a couple of Talbots' cashmere sweaters that way, too. They are amazing. I went nuts buying Land's End cashmere sweaters on clearance at 50% to 75% off, too.
@@edennis8578 Oh darn, I missed that sale at Lands End lol! Seriously, between the reduced price, 30% off and my birthday discount I bought everything I could in my size for the price of a discount sweater now.
I couldn't agree more about your basic list. I've been really working on creating a solid foundation in my classic wardrobe over the past 2 years. It was a good pandemic hobby! I'm happy to say I can check off most of these items on my list. I actually have the same J crew sweater blazer!
Thanks so much for this info. With shoes - I live in Portugal where our sidewalks are cobblestone. Shoes must have good traction soles or become extremely slippery in the rain!!
Thank you, Amanda, you are having a great style, you are a super nice & relatable person, I loved watching this video, just happened to find you. I love your chic style and that you are nothing pretentious! I think I didn‘t see not one image where I would say: don‘t like it. The fashion images passed really fast, I had to get back on them to get inspired. Thank you for making me feel soo comfortable. Everything was perfect! 💝🙏🏻👍🏻
We have discussed having Zara in the US a zillion times. It seemes a possible way would be to put the first store in Maine on the concept of the Francos of Maine. The second concept would be to have humkemoller open a store nearby splitting the two concepts. Zara has a very specific mechanical set they do that works well; however with manufacturing in Mexico the lines get confused with the upper movement stop on the wax paper concept as the line is French-Spanien with a Roma light and a Creata-Sardinian tailwind that almost works against the grain but is like a detachment in concept for those living in the establishment. The hunkemoller similarly works mechanically; however the mechanics are entirely different and make a good combo but is not to overtake the fundamentals of Zara, which is what we see when trying to block the upper movement past the line from the Mexico. Having it based in centcom region will help this dynamic. Something else to consider is the la Paz Isreal jewelery as exemplary human side diplomatic communication participation. They endlessly work to solve the communication of the diomaitc world on the ground with very little appreciation.
Thank you Amanda, I am new to your channel definitely subscribed. Your taste is impeccable and your advice is really on point. I must say I am very appreciative of your calm unhurried voice.
Great video, beautiful pieces! You always look so pulled together, now we know why! Wonderful soft color palette perfect for you, too. :) ... I love JCrew for coats , purchased a more casual quilted one on deep discount end of last winter, tht fits more my lifestyle but they do have beautiful wool options too, as you say. I appreciate this video and would definetly look forwrd to your steal/splurge video!
Great video just jammed with common sense suggestions. Thank you. One tip that works for me and other women have copied it is with purses that are “only cross body”. Nonsense. Simply take the strap, make a knot at the right length for over the shoulder and you’re out the door. The knot should look carelessly perfect and then a fashion look all its own. Try it! It works. 😊
I noticed your lovely caramel Poléne Numéro Un Nano bag. Anyone looking for a French designer bag, handmade and under $400, should definitely check them out.
All classic pieces. Very informative video. The one item you showcase that I don't reach for at all is the loafer. I find it does not work for my style, but in its place, I have a pair of white leather lv sneakers which work so well with most outfits. I do also have those exact same chanel ballet shoes as well as the hermes sandals which are so comfortable and pretty. One takeaway from your video that I love is the creamy beige pink colors you wear. I wish I could pull it off, but pale pinks don't work on me at all so I have to stick with black, white, or that medium cow brown. However, I will try to find a way to add those shades in my shoes or hand bag. Take care.
I think people are either a loafer or a flat person., but one or the other is great because they work for the office and the weekend. So funny I actually just bought the Hermes sandals this weekend! We're twins :)
Love this! Totally agree! Appreciate you including different options at different price points. Thanks so much! Exactly what I needed! I’m so ready for fall weather! 💜
This is a very good video and I did order the Sam Edelman loafers. I will say, if anyone cannot afford the price of these items (I can't), you can find many dupes for these on Amazon. Just type in the name and duplicate. I got a great Bottega knockoff clutch. Thanks for the good ideas!
I agree with your list of Fall Wardrobe Essentials. I tend to not have accessories like scarves on my list. I think I need to add a cashmere scarf to my fall wardrobe. 🙂
I totally agree with everything that you’ve said except for one thing. For ME, being short waisted, high rise jeans are amazing! They make your legs look a mile long( granted, I am 5’10”, and typically a pear shape, but!) they give the 1/3 to 2/3 proportions that one should be looking for that does not cut one in half at the waist. Just my personal opinion especially when tucking in at the waist. Elongating the lower half is key for my shape. I have many of the essentials you’ve talked about, however, I only have a few cashmere sweaters as I don’t have the want or need to care for them so carefully! Lazy? Probably! Also, I know with your personal style you probably don’t wear white platform trainers/sneakers but they also are now a fashion essential that go with baggy crepe pants, dresses and jeans. Love your content, Amanda! (I’ll bet Josie is growing so much!) ❤️
I know what you mean about the high-rise jeans! It depends on the rise, for example, Abercrombies Ultra high rise jeans are in my rib cage and way too high, but I have a pair of high rise that are 10.75 inch inseam that work great for me!
Thank you for another great video. I also love cashmere and the gorgeous blouse you have on Amanda...so pretty!!! It makes you look even more beautiful. Happy Sunday to you and yours.
Love these essentials. Over the past couple of months I have been trying to revamp my style and your channel has giving me serious inspo 💕 I have a VERY casual mostly dark color closet but have started incorporating some work wear ideas you’ve shared.
I believe it was camel but I got it last fall so I can’t remember. It was on their website earlier this week but it looks like they took it down for now. But I fully expect it to restock at some point! It’s a bag they usually carry in a lot of colors.
I love the blouse you are wearing hosting the video. Where did you get it? I also love when you present dupes. Just bc I am on a budget and love classy looks but can't afford the higher end version
I always love your videos and find them so inspirational to help me get my wardrobe you-know-what together :) I have a difficult time with clothing I 'want' to wear vs. what the climate I live in (also the south) and my lifestyle (SAHM) dictates. Having been a working mom I MISS getting 'dressed' for work each day... I need to find a way to strike a balance between looking like I'm going to the office for just a run into HEB for some bread or to walk the doggo.
Aloha! I went through something similar when I took an early retirement at 47. Still look good, but what to dress up for? I finally settled upon *getting ready* EVERY day. For me, 2 minutes minimum, 5 minutes maximum on makeup and hair. Daily. Otherwise it all goes to hell. Do the *get ready* for YOURSELF. You and your family will all benefit!
What an informative video. I loved it and definitely got some good outfit ideas from the pictures you inserted. Looks like I’m going to be going shopping this weekend ☺️
Beautiful images accompanying your recommendations! I would love to see a video about designer bags as investments pieces. When I clicked on the Fashionphile link, the original price of the Chanel items are listed, crossed out, and replaced with the selling price. Invariably, the selling prices are lower than the original prices. Could I really make the profit you reference if I purchased a new Chanel bag? If so, where would I be able to sell it for such a profit?
The original price that is crossed out is the current retail value, but not necessarily what the person reselling purchased it for. I purchased mine for $4,700 total in 2019, and they have increased the price multiple times per year since. The same bag now retails for $8.800 (plus tax). So if I sold it now, I would easily make a profit. The resell value depends completely on the demand of the bag and the condition. Not all designer bags will have as good of a resell value. But typically Chanel classic flaps will have a high demand because they're harder to get and they consistently increase the price every year (last year they had 4 price increases 😭). Highly desired bags can be purchased and resold OVER retail. It's really all supply and demand :)

IMO, Loafers are not a good look for short women. Won’t be using the loafer. The ballet flat is much more feminine.
Agree, and going with a platform bootie.
Agree leather goes too high in front cutting our legs even shorter
When you use a loafer similiar to your skin color it won't cut you off:)
