These changes are what I initially thought the pre-patch would be. And then, like everyone else, was immediately disappointed on patch day. I’m glad they made the changes quickly, but its initial iteration should’ve never made it to live.
Honestly I chock it up to human error. With how fast they fixed it, my bet is that this was how it was supposed to be and someone somewhere forgot to change the files or some shit before it went live. The important thing though is that they actually listened to the players.
@@Lucifaar LOL if that was what happened they would LOVE to tell us that excuse.... this was on ptr. this is what it was. not enough people test ptr and we have been saying that for a while. for reasons like this. when you would go test on the ptr for the event, there wouldnt be any people, like just a few, and it would take a LOOONG time to do anything. so the thing was never properly tested. we really need more folks ptr testing, blizz is giving it out with xpacks and stuff, i assume because its an issue they need help with.

I tried the event yesterday and nearly threw my PC out the window in frustration. Not only because of the ridiculous wait times between events not only because of the absurdly short window of opportunity to earn a decent amount of currency but also the INSANE server side lag that made doing ANYTHING nearly impossible. Hearing that they've changed it to pretty much the same way the elemental storms work is great but that should of been the way it worked from out of the gate. I swear over the past couple of years Blizzard seems to create the problems they then have to fix after getting BTFO by the community. Then (as we found out during the airing of their dirty laundry) they all get together & talk about how much they hate us for it. I've been a WoW player since December 2007. With a hiatus here & there I've stuck around the best of times & worst of times. But recently their worst of times are even getting under my skin. Thanks so much for the update. I checked this out on day one, rolled my eyes, and gave up on it. Might be worth a shot in the current form, although it gives me pause regarding being an early adopter of the upcoming expansion. 🤷

Shocking how fast and significant these changes are. But just like Remix, they just need to double or triple all rewards for every event they make. They'd be shocked at how many more people would stay subbed, even if they're not playing every minute of the day.
I was literally online playing when things started changing, and it was awesome. I'm actually enjoying myself. I've already got one toon completely geared and many pieces for alts.

This is gonna be a lot better for anyone actually wanting to do this. I think the problem is the same as it ever was. Feedback given on PTR, thrown in the fire, then retail gives them the same feedback, and forces a change.
It is great atm for levelling alts - really fast and they get upgrade gear for their first zone AND level 70 warbound stuff. The lag has been pretty awful though so hopefully they can fix that (and I just did a really late run, not four raids worth of folk - maybe one at most - and it was still really bad lag)
Glad they changed it. I did 4 runs the first day, setting a timer for 90 minutes on my phone. Went in 3 minutes late a couple times and missed the whole event, gave up and said I'll just play when the expac comes out.
So glad the wow devs are flexible and are ok accepting the fact that, welp well our idea was crap… throw it away and make massive sweeping changes that quickly respond to player feedback
I don't understand why I haven't seen any videos about how bad the launch was, without availability on their prize service - warband bank (where they didn't even bother to change the error message) and how laggy the event turned out to be (3-4 seconds delay), especially since they had time to test everything. It feels like content creators are acting like company employees these days, praising games and giving credit for "overhauling" the event when all they did is to make it playable (edit: bosses still lag 2-3 seconds - no overhaul there). Edit2: It definitely is so much SLOWER the "overhawl". Instead of doing fixed number of events we now do endless events and still "memories remaining" is not 0%

Glad they made the changes so quickly. I had just stopped playing Beta as I could never get this quest completed but I do wish there was one other change. Knowing which of the 3 zones is currently active. I went to the wrong zone and had to go all over the place to get back to Dalaran as my toy was on CD.
I know i have a pessimistic outlook on live and almost everything else, but doesn't blizzard release almost every patch/event in a broken/not thought out way? It's like they are so creatively bankrupt that they come up with these "lackluster" (depends on what you compare them with) concepts, then release them to let the community fix their mess, because they can't think of details, which most player can see in the preview.
Thanks. Just tried the “new” event. My first toon that had been there could not port to the correct Dalaran, hearthstone would not work. Took another toon over. Could NOT loot any mobs! So tired of bugged crap from Blizzard. So happy I have not purchased War Within. The last couple of months appear to foretell what the expansion will be like.
Blizzard is designing the game around the minority of the player base plus they don't test anything properly because they don't have the man hours or enough people. I would surmise 95% of the work is from metric/spreadsheet data and not a real persons playing. When it hits live it's blatantly obvious to players how cack things are going to be. Then there is the elephant in the room. How fast can it be changed fixed, only the most broken ass stuff is fixed promptly. But 99% of the time people have to wait several weeks or seasons for a decent change to occur which is sad.
If devs from WoW read these comments thank god they made this change, and Fire the person who setup the original timelines. I Played Tuesday then quit. It sucks that Dad's with limited play time were getting screwed by a 1.5 Hour timer for the main boss who was dead in 1 minutes of the event starting. I would get done working out around 9:15-9:30 central then have to wait till 11 at night to get a reward. Events in the game should not be setup on even divders of 24, for hardcore players that is fine but for casuals people (like the dad's of the world wanting to play an MMO they progress in) if the events don't divide evenly into 24 it makes it different each night we log in. Having stuff that can be achieved regularly helps as well. Last night was way more fun than tuesday of last week. I was going to buy a game to tide me over to the war within, but now I think I will spend the time doing these quests with Crunchy roll up in the background. Learn from other MMO's like GW2, giving folks a grind they that is constant action keeps them in the seat
Who thought 90mins was a good idea? The event went quick so if i wasnt playing 24/7 Id catch it maybe once or twice a day. They do realize people work and school is about to start again.
Will Remix Alts need thus Gear - no idea what item level they will start on when moved to Retail? Also - why doesn't Blizzard have a 'But what issues might the players have' department 🤔 It was totally obvious what was going to happen here.
I was expecting that if they did anything to change the event, we'd be waiting until the next reset. I was pleasantly surprised when the news came across my feed this afternoon, it seems like it's actually nice and smooth now. I'm looking forward to gearing up my warband and getting ready for TWW at my own pace.
Got all 13 classes to 70 (I only had one 70, most were 40s and 50s), got them all geared fully in 480. Never been able to do this so easily before! And now I can fairly compare all of my alts and figure out which ones are the most fun. Loving mage, warrior, and DK the most so far.
Hmmm. I just spent half an hour and it still seems boring and pointless. No sign of a boss, but there were some markers for quest, I think. I spent some time with others gathering wood, but it seemed to bug at 90% completion. Hopefully not a sign of things to come.
Great improvement, only possible problem of this setup is that everyone will probably be done by the end of next week. So people joining later will find an event without any other players 😮
The boss health increases with how many peoole show up. School starts back up next week so i doubt anyone in north america will be on much lomger after this weekend as far as being online all day. And farm this.
I don't get a long time to play each day so I really appreciated it last night. After the first night I logged in and found the zone already past the boss and the timer wouldn't hit zero until after I had to log out.
And yes, I have noticed on the PTR people are more interested in learning the content than giving feedback. It took me an hour to get done with a tiny hub because of submitting blue notes; and saw many players just zooming through! Blizzard really needs to examine who is doing PTR and actively submitting notes; and they should be the players invited to test FIRST!
It’s MUCH better! And I love the 4th portal. Everyone should take it and have an amazing experience! Lol. And I noticed groups are ‘tagging’ (gray) the mobs anymore which was imo was not counting towards the percentage meters causing the echo to glitch. ( I was using the extra time for LFR to get bullion. Still doing that.
I don't understand how they released it is as it was. Nobody there can wager an opinion? Ever? Might be too late though, most of my guildies dissed it after seeing how bad it was and not sure they'll log back for this...
it's so much better that the "oh man, guys... this is awful" feedback I gave on day 1 is replaced by a "oh thank you SO much." Thank you for also voicing my concern. They will have seen mine in the original feedback because I said all of those things and asked who tested this and left it the original way. LOL thank you.
Still a bunch of glitches though. Some of my characters aren't receiving the weekly quests, and Im pretty sure that the Warband bank swallowed all of my memories.
While leveling, the item level of the random gear that drops for you is way too low. My heirlooms were up over ilvl 100 and I was getting blues that were ilvl 40. It was so weird getting useless gear for leveling.
you cant be serious lmfao blizz is crooked, blizz is kinda dumb sometimes... but that? would be the most idiotic thing they could do. lol amazing you survive with that kind of paranoia lol
funny how the feedback on the PTR rarely seems to matter. theres been an "i told you so" so many times between the players and Blizz, its actually funny.
Lol ngl I totally forgot about the prepatch after trying the event the first day. Did people not mention this event sucked in beta? Did no one play it? I don't get how they released it in this state. 60 minute timer is too long still. At least the boss event changes are good.
During development, there are a huge number of things to control, and I believe the previous design could have been an oversight, especially when the development team focused on player feedback from the beta. And because there weren't many concerns raised about this, it was simply forgotten, no matter how big this oversight is. Instead of criticizing, I appreciate that they listened to players and corrected this event. Everything is okay as long as there is a lesson learned.
I haven’t logged in since the changes but I’m miffed that the event came out in that bad of a state. After all the shadowlands stuff that happened you’d think Blizzard would get it more right but it seems they keep wanting to stagger player growth way too much. I agree with Kelani’s statement about the overall situation. I’m not very optimistic about the expansion and that’s a bummer overall. Hopefully we will see change.
@@benjamincook321 Sure. But I think it's safe to bet that pre-patch before next expansion after a rather current successful expansion would point to things being good. But who knows.
You have literally no idea what you’re talking about. Did you see their metrics? You somehow got a glimpse? They invited just you to the studio or sent just you a message saying “hey, want to see our metrics?” Just making shit up and people bite on it like you have any idea what you are actually saying.
I would've been okay with just the repeatable bosses change even if they kept it on a 90min timer, but yeah this is gonna make the event and leveling alts way better
Just experience this and it is actually fun more gear has dropped in just the first event I was participating in in 20 minutes then the four or five events I participated in since the beginning and the northrend section actually isn’t bugged.
No mention of the many, many times the memory, or even the zone boss dies without you getting the currency, chance at drop and/or exp? Did you play the event at all?

Glad they made the changes so quickly. I had just stopped playing Beta as I could never get this quest completed but I do wish there was one other change. Knowing which of the 3 zones is currently active. I went to the wrong zone and had to go all over the place to get back to Dalaran as my toy was on CD.
How they even tried to release the original version is beyond my comprehension... who the fuck would greenlight something like that?
Upgrade material still being a problem. You only get 2 draco stones for main boss kill and you need 15 to each upgrade
Back to reality, the lag during the event continues to be so high that it is impossible to play the game
That’s a huge change!! Definitely makes it more entertaining to play right now.
This is amazing and absolutely needed. Thanks for the guide!
I was expecting that if they did anything to change the event, we'd be waiting until the next reset. I was pleasantly surprised when the news came across my feed this afternoon, it seems like it's actually nice and smooth now. I'm looking forward to gearing up my warband and getting ready for TWW at my own pace.
How they could release it in that horrible state is beyond me. No one tested it before?
13.5κ currently per day with the 3 quests and the final bosses plus more from extra runs is a loooot of gear for alts. This fix was really good !!!
I gave it another try yesterday, and it was much better!
@@miamianz arent all us wow players like 30 plus?
Some of us have 12 alts, don't worry
@@TheShawnMower just today alone i got many alts to 70 even wiuth 12 alts i can't see playing past a week
which is a good thing i couldnt imagine doing this for weeks on end lol
I find the event actually really fun now. I don't have much time to play and now I can log in when i can and get stuff done in the event. Much better.
I don't get a long time to play each day so I really appreciated it last night. After the first night I logged in and found the zone already past the boss and the timer wouldn't hit zero until after I had to log out.
I'm thankful for Blizzard i could gear up main character and level up lower characters a bit quicker and easier 😊
Well done blizz listening to your players at last this seems a lot better
Thank God for that! Did it this morning and it was much more fun. Also no lag.
I was surprised they changed it mid day but it’s a lot better than it was and you uploaded the video so fast!🎉
If they conceived the upcoming expansion in the way they did with this prepatch...
Awesome changes but the lag is a definite drag.
..."Hasn't been all too great." - I'll add that to my understatements of the year list :D (Although you missed all the bugs in the events!)
Glad to see you didn't get possessed at the end of this episode again. :D
Pretty mad people haven’t learned not to play on patch day yet.
While leveling, the item level of the random gear that drops for you is way too low. My heirlooms were up over ilvl 100 and I was getting blues that were ilvl 40. It was so weird getting useless gear for leveling.
Blizzard is giving us the broken toy on purpose so then they fix it and we look at them like saviors. They are good at manipulating their player base.
you cant be serious lmfao blizz is crooked, blizz is kinda dumb sometimes... but that? would be the most idiotic thing they could do. lol amazing you survive with that kind of paranoia lol
Yeah I was bewildered when I logged in today. It’s much better now though!
This was magical. They fixed it so fast. And legit fixed it in every single way.
funny how the feedback on the PTR rarely seems to matter. theres been an "i told you so" so many times between the players and Blizz, its actually funny.
Yeah i popped in to a bugged instance and was like nope.
Glad they changed it, I did one event and decided to wait for the expansion go live. I will try it again.
Good news everyone!
Did you fix the poison slime pipes?
😂😂@@jxhunger
The change to this is so much better. Glad for the fast turnaround from blizzard. Happy to see them willing to make quick changes
Funny how quickly changes can roll out when those active user numbers don’t hit internal metrics…
But they did hit internal metrics. That's how so many people complained; because so many people logged on for it.
Actually we have no idea what their internal metrics were
Funny how delusional some people are :)
@@benjamincook321 Sure. But I think it's safe to bet that pre-patch before next expansion after a rather current successful expansion would point to things being good. But who knows.
You have literally no idea what you’re talking about.
Did you see their metrics? You somehow got a glimpse? They invited just you to the studio or sent just you a message saying “hey, want to see our metrics?”
Just making shit up and people bite on it like you have any idea what you are actually saying.
The initial thing was so bad if u missed it. This is way better
Great changes. This reminds me now of the legion pre event. I maxed so many alts in that event😅
These are very positive changes, good job, Blizz
