    Thrangu Rinpoche (1933-2023) was a renowned master of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. Recognized as the ninth incarnation of the Thrangu Tulku lineage, he was a prolific scholar, author, and teacher. Rinpoche's vast knowledge and deep realization of the Dharma were complemented by his compassionate and engaging teaching style. He established numerous monasteries and Dharma centers around the world, tirelessly spreading the teachings of the Buddha to benefit all beings. His legacy is one of wisdom, kindness, and unwavering dedication to the spiritual path.
    Thrangu Rinpoche's full name and title was the Very Venerable Ninth Khenchen Thrangu Tulku, Karma Lodrö Lungrik Maway Senge. The academic title Khenchen denotes great scholarly accomplishment (English-language analogues include the titles Distinguished Professor and Academic Fellow), and the term Rinpoche ("Precious" or "Precious One") is a Tibetan devotional title which may be accorded to respected teachers and exemplars.
