@IsomerSoma Well said. Ding has said he prepped for this for only 3 weeks which is of course just crazy. So he likely didn’t have many other lines ready. This also explains why he is spending ridiculous amount did time in the opening because he has to calculate since he didn’t prepare for months like most normal players would for World Chess Championship. Which makes what he has done even more insane by the way. And also if you caught his post game interview he said he doesn’t think tomorrow will be a short draw. He is going to come for Gukesh.
It's most likely a lie. Last time against Nepo his prep got leaked online and it nearly screwed him over. I'm certain he said that as to not leave any room for speculation on what he's studied.

Only if ‘Gukesh’s team’ let him play normal chess like in Olympiad instead of these ‘double edged opening’, he’ll be able to push ‘ding’ enough for him to break. 🤦🏻♂️
Very different. Olympiad no one comes with prep.
World Championships is an entirely different ball game!
no this is not olympiad
@@redeyexxx1841 but Ding also came without prep
@@Lastninjaxoxoxoxox Ding really is playing very good defensive moves. Very resourceful compared to what he was doing for an entire year.
I really enjoy the moments Magnus has to pause to come up with something nice to say about a move or position he hates. Heavy is the head that refused the crown 😂
Would have been good to get Magnus to be specific about what he was hoping to see from Ding's opening repertoire. Did he mean e5 and some line from there? Or some other opening?
Great recap!
“Shake hands in move 69” 😂😂
Nice
We like to see her back
Not really. Yesterday was much better.
I’ve played the French exclusively for 30 years. I’m loving seeing it played in the World Championship.
How old are you?
There was a point in the game where Gukesh was ahead but Ding defended perfectly.
