    Love love love the twist out! Their products are meant to be applied on soaking wet hair to give the most moisture. I know you said you like to dry your hair for retaining length so maybe try the Super Stretch instead of the super cream with the B leave in and the light defining gel all on wet hair!!!

    I really appreciate your honest review. I've tried deva curl before and found the products too drying for my ultra-parched strands. the decadence didn't quite work for me. I've always thought that these products have too much protein for my coily hair. maybe that's the problem? idk, if I ever buy their styling products, I'd treat it them like eco styler gel, an ultra moisturizing base would be critical.

      +n patrice Hey! You're welcome! I didn't know they had a lot of protein in them, that could definitely be the issue. I always use a base set of moisturizers prior to styling, but maybe I need to use even more next time. Thanks for the info hun!

    I use the no poo, decadence conditioner and the coconut styler ( also the other creme styler) and I noticed with the gel I experience the dry feeling and I HATE it. If I don't use the gel my curls are fluffier and lighter still defined but without the dry tacky feeling. I think I use much too much gel, but I just skip it all together. Your hair look Fabulous! I too have low porosity hair and after 4 years of being natural I JUST did the test to find out yesterday. Now I use the LCO method instead of LOC and I can tell the difference in retaining moisture.

      +Naturallyblingin Hey hun! Thanks so much for the tips! It seems like it was the gel so I'll definitely try a different one next time because I like to always incorporate one.

    I haven't had the experience that the gel is drying but I always use the gel on soaking wet hair. That's how the stylist instructed me to use the gel and I never had a problem. Maybe it's not a flexible product in that you cannot get the desired results unless the hair is soaking wet. And if you don't have time to dry it can be rather tedious but I personally use another method to get around that lol. There's only 24hrs in a day.

    I would have skipped the Ultra Defining gel. When I used the Arc Angel or Ultra Defining gel with the B'Leave In, I have issues with my hair feeling dry. But each one by themselves, I'm good. I just did a twist out with the Devacurl Buildup Buster, Decadence One Conditioner, Supercream, and B'Leave In, which I use as a gel b/c it's a light holding gel that is also mositurizing, and my hair feels amazing. It's moisturized, shiny, bouncy, and has great definition.
    I personally prefer the Buildup Buster to the Decadence No Poo, but I purchased a set which was the No Poo, One Condition, and Supercream, so I'll use the No Poo until I run out, and then use the Buildup Buster faithfully. Right now, I rotate each cleanser I use by the week, so I use the BB one week and the next the No Poo.
    I'm still playing around with with the gels to see if I like them or need to find another one from a different product line. But so far I love the Decadence One Condition, Supercream, and Buildup Buster.

      Thanks so much for the tips hun! Yeah, I think the B'Leave In can be the only gel I use at the time because the consistency is just like a gel. I'll definitely keep your suggestions in mind the next time I use this line.

      Good luck. It's a good line, but you have to find out how to properly use it for your hair. I did do a successful wash and go with the Buildup Buster, One Condition, Supercream, and Ultra Defining Gel. I'm going to try a wash and go with the Arc Angel in place of the Ultra Defining Gel b/c it's the maximum hold gel in the line. I ended up with a flaky wash and go using the No Poo, One Condition, Supercream, B'Leave In, & Arc Angel. And I'm pretty sure that it was because I used too many products. I've found that Devacurl is touchy like that.

    I recently switched to the DevaCurl Decadence line and absolutely love it! I use the No-Poo, One Condition (big bottle :)), and the Coconut Styler as my moisturizer. However, I opted to use the olive oil Eco-styler gel as my styler instead of DevaCurl's Ultra Defining gel because it left my hair feeling dry, too. I also deep condition with Heaven In Hair. You may want to omit the B'Leave-In and Ultra Defining gel to see if you get softer, more moisturized results. Your style looks great

      +Naturallyfab Hey! Yeah, it seems like the gel is the cause of the dryness. I'll definitely try it without the gel next time. Thanks so much for your advice hun! 😊😊😊

      +CC Gyaa Thanks hun! Yeah, I think the gel is the problem too.

    Im convinced deva curl products are made for finer hair... i have a medium density, 3c-4a curls... the no poo and one condition didnt impress me and i didnt get good lasting wng results using the curl styler and arc angel gel... the arc angle gel was supposed to be the strongest hold. They tried it w/ all these products imo

      +beau knows88 Hey hun! I wasn't a fan of the no poo either, but I love the one condition. My results were great, I just have to figure out why my hair was so dry. Thanks so much for watching!

      beau knows88...I have 4a (mixed with a bunch of other textures) hair and love the no poo and one condition as they moisturize and detangle very well for me...wouldn't do wash day without them. The stylers always make my hair dry though. I thought it was just user error, but I keep hearing similar things from kinky curlies. Could we ALL be doing it wrong? 😆

    • @allmyluvs
      @allmyluvs  7 років тому +1

      +racqueld100 Hey hun! I'm thinking that the dryness may be a result of the gel, which I have been hearing a lot. I'm going to use a different one next time.

    I had the same issue when I tried these products. I did a wash n go and I loved the definition but my hair felt so dry I couldn't take it! I had to redo it the next day. I thought maybe it was the gel. Idk either... Something was definitely off.

    • @allmyluvs

      +Simply JazzyD That's interesting! I think that it may have been the gel too. The next time I use it I'm going to replace it with a different gel and see if that makes a difference. Thanks for sharing hun! 😊

      Yeah I think it is the ultra defining gel. I had a stylist put it in my hair and I went home and rinsed it out. Too drying. I like the definition with the B'Leave-In for wash and goes but I'm on the fence with the glycerin. I want to try the super cream but I'm going to use my own conditioner and gel. So I'm thinking.....no poo decadence, curls curlada conditioner, curls blueberry bliss leave-in or kinky curly knot today or shea moisture low porosity, deva super cream, deva b'leave-in, eco syler olive oil or argan oil gel. Did you end up trying it with a different gel?

    • @allmyluvs
      @allmyluvs  7 років тому +1

      +Sista Foxy Yeah, I think so too. I actually tried it with Uncle Funky's Daughter Curly Magic gel, which was ok, but nothing amazing.

    • @Foxy81824

      I think I figured it out. Its the glycerin. I'm in Cali so it pulls the moisture from my hair into the air since its so dry. I think this is the same issue with the Shea Moisture Low Porosity leave-in with glycerin as the first ingredient. Ugh! I'm still on the hunt.
