KW 5-way suspension, new bigger rear wing and underbody areo with the standard brake update. Won't do it on mine when it comes due to the price tag it gonna have. I'm still pleased with my GT4MR. I hope i donna gonna regret the upgrade end of the season...
Finally the perfect Porsche, this MR version is a true masterpiece. Is those details that makes all the difference. Nice one for bringing this version 👌
Cheers for another cracking video Matt. You are slowly but surely turning me into Porsche fan boy. And that's no mean feat! Keep up the great work on the channel its much appreciated 👏🏽
The suspension is in the middle of PASM stiff and standard. At least when you have choosen the Nordschleife setup. The kit transforms the brake to another level. It's nearly impossible to get into ABS on track. The front end compared to the standard GT4 is another level too. It turns in so well. Follows every correction. The kit is highly recommended.
Regarding the lack of sound under 50 km/h or 3800 u/min. Just go for ASR RX1 modul. It always opens the flap if you want to. :) Every GT4 owner i know got it installed.
Having owed a 997GT3 and a GT4, the GT4 is so much quicker in the hills and twists! Without doubt (tickets to prove it, eek). The GT4 still requires loads of driver input when ya on it, and provides good feedback. On the track, weeelll, the GT4 is quick, but prefer the 997GT3 for driver input and difficulties. So for me GT4 wins as this is what most of us drive daily/hills etc. Haven't been on the track in my 992GT3 yet, but this might blow both away?
I owned a 2010 RS 3.8 back over a decade ago and while I very much enjoyed that car I actually found I preferred the GT4 dynamics for road driving even more after owning a 2016 981GT4 and a 718GT4. This past I helped a close friend buy a pristine 2011 GT3 with 8k miles and drove the car for an entire afternoon curious if I would suddenly be won over by its character, especially since it’s almost seemed to have gained legendary status in the years since I owned my RS. The truth was I was honestly disappointed and not all that impressed. For one that gearbox is very plasticky feeling and kind of notchy with long throws compared to the billet solid, extremely short throw of the GT4, the steering felt extremely light, front end not planted, and the car just felt a bit unsettled overall. I realize that die hard enthusiasts will say that’s what makes the car so special is that it requires you to make concessions to your driving style to suit the car but frankly it just felt old and wasn’t that rewarding. For a back I personally have a ton more fun with the GT4 and the extra confidence it gives you only adds the the experience and enjoyment in my opinion
What a beast and now with the man peddle. Only one major flaw with this car: The driver needs to be sitting slightly West of the position in this car. (Proper left hand steering?)
For those of you who like track days, the stock gearing is preferrable to shorter gearing in my view. If you would like to optimize the car for driving on public roads at slower speeds than I can see the arguement for shorter gearing. On track, however, you are going fast enough even through sharp turns that you don't probably need second gear at all and if you do you would be glad it red lines at the speed it does. You have absolutely no problem keeping it in the upper power band of the rpm with the stock gearing on track.
You know I normally really dislike modded cars, I prefer to keep everything stock :) But seeing how they fixed up everything wrong with the GT4? This is a very good modification 🌚✨
Anyone driving pretty much any modern Porsche - the single best thing you can do for sound is to fit 200 cell cats. OE are big purposefully to help muffle the sound. You only get that real Porsche sound by getting rid of those sonic restrictions.
@@Declan4253 I own one, and it’s absolutely bananas. For reference, I’ve previously owned 991.2 GT3, GT3RS and 458 Italia (amongst others). DeMan 4.5 718 Spyder is my favorite of them all.
@@982evo Thanks for the response! I suspect I am not in the same tax bracket as you are so am a bit concerned about the longevety of the engine with so much power. I did get a used 2016 GT4 with lots of aero and intake/exhaust upgrades. More power is the last thing I could do to it, but I honestly feel like it is already a beast. I would love to keep those turbos from catching me in the straights on track though. I assume you have not received negative reports on reliability of the engine post upgrade. Thanks, again.
Do you have the specifics for alignment and the coil-overs? I added MCS 2-way remote dampers to my PDK GT4 and have the alignment set at -2.5 F and -2 R camber, with corrected caster from thrust arm bushings and rear-end toe links and the steering wheel likes to jerk around in my hand when going over rough and uneven pavement. It doesn't trampline and tracks straight, but the steering wheels is very "lively" which gets tiring rather quickly. My toe is set at 2mm total toe in on the front and the rear is 4mm total toe in.
The exhaust note still needs a lot of work. I would just do the gearing and exhaust and cal it a day. They changed too much on this car for my liking. It didn't need aero, suspension, or brakes ect. Shake Porsche didn't fix the gearing on the final Cayman
Can't wait to see what Manthey does with the 4RS

Oh the sound of the exhaust from shifting a manual, i miss this in modern sports cars🥲🤣

Haha thanks Matt! An awesome brand and a very special car 🙌🏼
What too you soo long? Actually it took me 30 years!😿
Great production quality, in terms of cinematography and sound quality 👍!

I was aware of the MR options for the GT4, but not RPM Technik's surface transform carbon ceramic disc treatment. Thanks for the tip!
Glad we could shed some light!
Great production like always! Love the car too!!
Glad you like it!
Absolutely stunning car
Yeah! Track review on the works! 🤩
Mega video Matt!! What a weapon!! And thanks for not judging me using auto blip 😉☺️
😂 glad you enjoyed! Wicked car
So good looking in Guards Red
Isn't it just! A top colour.

I need you guys to drive the Deman Motorsports 4.5L GT4... Thats an insane expression of the platform
Do you have a Deman car? I would definitely consider the conversion as some point. Curious to know how you like it if you have experience with one.

I love the way we just throw bespoke at everything now... lmfao
That’s a fantastic car😁👍
It really is!
I tuned out the presenter while mesmerized by that flat 6 engine. Was that exhaust valve open full time?
What a stunner👌👌
Oh....And yes we do have to make that happen! 😉
I always aimed to get a 911 by Techart, Ruf or Gemballa. Seems like there is another choice now.
Gembella or Strosek.
Sharkwerks has had a shortened gear set for the Cayman for quite awhile...

the lava orange looks so much better when its dirty
Please could we have some ACCELERATION Figures ?? Curious to see the difference in 0-62, 0-100, 400m sprint with the short gearing gearbox setup.
PDK and it would be closer to perfection - at least for me 😁
Fair enough! The manual is so engaging though 👌🏼
How much does the shorter gearing kit cost? Is it available somewhere in continental europe? Thanks
£5546.15 + VAT + £494.70+VAT for the higher ratio 6th gear. 718 also needs a re map.
How do you manage to get Strines all to yourself ?
Wow! Didn't know that gearbox adaptation was available. What's the price though? 🤔 😬
Right. No mention of prices
We'll have an extra cut on our IG soon with all the prices and info!

What sort of price is the gear fix lads??
Someone needs to send the specs to The Car Guys haha Damian with be loving this video?

@@porscherca doesn’t seem too crazy if it has such a great impact on the character of the car 👍
Surprising Porsche hasn't changed the gearing what with all the feedback for shorter gears
Chad Deman GT4 vs Virgin GT4 RS.
can it be better then the Deman set up?
Nah ;)
Deman GT4 > GT4RS > Sharkwerk GT4 > GT4.
The CS is a race car. Cannot compare.
GT4RS MR
Which would you rather have, the MR or the RS?
Safe to say you can’t have the RS so the MR makes even more sense!
nicee

You would think at this point they could do better than a vynil sticker for the badge 1:47
That's how it is on the original car 🤷
It's for weight saving. Albeit very minute.
Not the ultimate gt4 when the rs exists
No manual means that for some it is the ultimate
@@MercSLRFan rs is too good. I'd love it in manual, but it's leaps and bounds above the gt4.
Absolutely agree about the 718 GT4. Very impressive and almost perfect, but soulless.
Stop calling it a Porsch, it's Por-shah, Yes, i know it's a British thing but my God, it's annoying. Nobody likes to have their name mispronounced.
The ultimate overpriced sports car. Good luck finding one for less than 250,000USD LOL
Move to the UK.
