Check your gfci outlets, it could need reset, it has two buttons in between the plugs My Florida home only has 2, which I’m not used too. One is outside on the front of the house in an outside outlet and one is in one of my bathrooms for the entire house. Hope this helps
Kyle your giving me Clark Griswald vibes.😂 As someone who does a large Christmas display. I feel your pain with the intricacies of a nice display and power sources.
The 15amp circuit breaker trips when you plug outside lights. When a breaker trips, the switch only moves to the middle, and when you tried to reset with outside still plugged in, that's your problem area. Something shorting the circuit. TV and Christmas lights should be way under 15amps. Most likely one of your extension cords is faulty. Move them around.... you'll find it.
KYLE!!! Quit messing with electricity and call an electrician! This is not in your realm of knowledge and you could get hurt. Or do more damage to your house!
My husband is a contractor. You need to see if you have a GFI on your outside outlet. If not, you need to install one. That should solve it. If you need more help with home issues, let me know. It is great being married to a contractor.
You have a GFI circuit. It is sensing water and a short to ground. A HUGE safety upgrade. Otherwise, if your body touched the short the power would enter your body. Replace the lights
@wbunch by GFIs are built right into the receptacle. When they were installed the electrician said that only one is needed on each breaker circuit. That one protects all the plugs in the run no matter how many. Glad to hear that there are now GFI Circuit breakers. They are a good safety item. Especially in kitchen, bathroom, and outdoor damp locations
Just got 2,000 in about two years. It's nice to hear you comment about when you were back there five years ago. I've been following for about 2.5 years. Thanks! I hope you enjoy the Santa hat!
We used to trip the fuses too, but be sure to use electrical tape when you connect strands of lights and when connecting to any extension cords so rain or condensation does not get in between the connections….. if you don’t use outside timers, you totally should…… that way you don’t have plug them in each day…. Digital times are your friend…
Kyle - fellow Celebration resident here. Check Celebration Back Porch about an electrician referral or ask on the site and you will get some response to your inquiry unless you know one already. You are basically a victim of newer construction code with the fuse panel components and types. Outside plugs should be wired on their own circuit for two reasons. If you are going to have a GFI incident, outdoor decor is a primary trip cause with water etc., and with the sprinkler system being active, your chances r greatly multiplied. Apparently, you have both inside and outside on the same circuit, and without separate circuits, overload is more likely to happen like you r experiencing when the holiday decor is put up. Several comments have spoken to this as well. Have been there before in new build and the bedroom circuit breakers were arc fuse type and drove me crazy. Would trip if light bulb burned out!! Good Luck!! Also loved the scavenger hunt, do the same thing anymore in Publix getting items on a list it seems!!
I agree with what you’re saying, I don’t like having an outside receptacle on with an interior one. However to my knowledge it is not a NEC violation. As long as the outside receptacle is GFCI protected in some way there’s no violation. As far as Florida building codes haven’t a clue I’m in Ohio
“Jer Bear” explain to Kyle that was a gfi breaker. It was just doing it’s job. Gfi measure minute amount of electricity flowing. It’s to protect you. Unfortunately all the cheap stuff we get to buy for outdoor lighting just doesn’t play nice with a gfi. Spray plug with wd40 may help a little. Ps all breakers trip half way. Then you reset them
Hi, some animal may have bitten the wires. But from what you indicate, the problem is in the exterior lights. Even though they are waterproof, there may be a light bulb that moisture is getting into. At the time you tried it was during the day that it's hot and dry, try at night to see what happens.
I am seeing this answer thru out this video but could be a bad breaker or GFCI is bad or needs replacement. But yes callan electrician thats not work you do yourself unless you have done it before. Also with all the flooding and water tou had a few months ago the seal on the outdoor plug could have let water in and held it, now its dried out its fine.
It may be doing that because theirs to much power overloading the line. Sometimes just adding a phone charger to the same line can cause it to blow if it's already fully loaded.
It could be a bad GFI (Ground Fault Interrupt) on the porch. Plug the lights in inside the house on the same circuit and see if the same failure occurs.
You absolutely have a short so you’re going to have to take your outside lights and plug them in one set at a time rule out that it’s not the extension cords that is causing it and if it doesn’t on every set, there’s something going on with your outlet or your GFI outlet It is going to be tedious, but that’s the only way to troubleshoot a short again do it by one extension cord at a time or one set of lights at a time and plug them directly into the outlet now you can do us a group of lights that are in your bushes and see if that causes it or does it
The breaker is maxed out! You have too much current flowing through it. It's a matter of time until it will trip again. You need to unplug some of those lights and move them to another circuit. Problem solved. Electrician here.
Love the scavenger hunt, that is such a cute idea! With new construction you could have AFCI everywhere (been a residential code requirements since the 2015 cycle, but not sure what FL has adopted for their code, but it does look like AFCI circuit breakers in the video), so if the circuit keeps tripping on the inside there's a chance it's due to an arc. Definitely not something you want to mess with on your own, if it keeps happening you should hire an electrician to get it looked at.
If you got water in the outdoor plug it will trigger the gfci outlet. Once it dries out you can reset it by pushing the buttons on it. Sometimes it resets on its own. I'd get an electrician to check it out to ensure its ok.... also if the Christmas lights are from Amazon they could be cheap chinese knock offs. I bought led light bulbs for inside my house and they kept flickering. My electrician checked everything and it was ok. He told me to throw out the Amazon light bulbs and install Phillips (or some other name brand ones) and I've never had a problem since.
I live in Seattle where it rains a ton, they sell waterproof plug boxes for decorations on Amazon! Totally worth it and will extend the life of your decor.
You have water in one of your light connections. Once it dries out, it will work again and not trip the breaker. Use electrical or duct tape and the connections and be fore the end of the light strings are covered with tape.
You have one or more outlets/plugs in your house or garage that are gfi ground fault indicators …. They have a trip fuse that can op out so you don’t get shocked due to water short etc … they have a reset button on them
I would get an electrician to look at it. You may not have enough amps for the porch lights that seems to be attached to the front half of the house. Also when you go on your next cruise I recommend that you do not leave your outside Christmas light plugged in just for safety reasons now unless you had an electrician look at it before you leave.
Get a new breaker to put it. They are relatively cheap at Lowe’s or Home Depot . Might not have enough output for everything . Also might have been wet get a cover for all your cord ends . You can get those at Home Depot or Lowe’s as well .
Yeah that is very odd that it didn't work and then after resetting the lights work. I wish I could give more advice but all I can suggest is doing an outdoor surge protector plug. Also keep an eye on it and if it happens again, I would get someone to check it. But they do look amazing. 😊👍
My husband says it's not a wiring issue inside the house. The breaker is doing it's job and you have a short in your Christmas lights. The issue will happen again once it rains. You need to find the short in the lights. Go Pack Go from Wisconsin!!
Sounds like a GFI issue. Best to call a good licensed electrician who will explain to you the GFI, circuits causes and effects inside and outside of your home. Probably an easy fix but I would not mess with outside lights for now.
My lights I always wrap the ends with electoral tape. This keeps the water out of the plug. To find the short, I wound unplug everything outside and plug in one thing at a time.

Circuit overload on you GFI. Need to split and add another breaker in your breaker box.
Hope you solved your electrical issue. If not, call an electrician. Best to be safe. Loved your clues for Casey’s scavenger hunt. She did well. Do more, but let her do it for you too. I’ve been watching you daily since early 2021. Happy Holidays to you and Casey as well as DadDadDad, Susan, Alexa and Grandma! Enjoy your vlogs! 😊
Imagine that. Packer fan complaining about the outcome of the game. Refs missed a lot of calls? How about all the years of the many, many BS calls on the lions because of Aaron rodgers being a sore loser and a drama queen, and when we complained, you all thought we were crazy. Now that the tables have turned how quickly the packer fans jump to placing blame on the refs. Let's go LIONS!!
Love your vlogmas and gift opening at the end of every video. Think may do this for my house next year as well. So fun !! Also, can Casey let us know what color nail polish she used ? I love it and would like to have it done for my birthday on the 24 😊
Your porch outlet appears to be a regular outlet not a GFCI outlet, which will have a trip and reset buttons on the outlet itself. Since it's a regular outlet it tripped the main circuit for that area that feeds the house. My house has GFCI outlets in the bathrooms and outdoors on my porches.. I would call an electrician and replace the porch outlet no matter what.. Something had gotten wet and dried out... Also Home Depot or Lowes may still have those power stakes for Christmas decorations still out for sale. Sometimes those can trip and you can reset those .. It may help for now.. Double check your decorations and make sure something isn't sitting in water when it rains or when the sprinklers run.
Hi Kyle and Casey! The scavenger hunt was so much fun!❤ I used to do a similar hunt when I was a kid...its so much fun! Yes ..please do another one but make it harder but the reward would be an extra special present🎁🎁 I think that would be awesome! Love you both! ❤ 🎄 PS glad the lights work 🎄
Sounds like you had/have a ground fault. Any idea which GFI outlet that outdoor plug is fed from? You could have got water in one of the light plugs outside and it will cause a GFI outlet to trip. Did y’all have rain recently?
Check to see if GFI is tripping. Another thought, how old is house? GFI plugs get really sensitive and easy to trip with age and in that case have plug replaced. I just lived this!!
Outdoor sockets should have a built in gif button on middle upgrade the outdoor sockets to 20amp with GFI.......gfi outdoor sockets are code here in fla. Bet those are 15 amps sockets
7:00 Those lights work because they’re dry now, I’d wager. They need to be replaced More importantly: outside plugs belong on their own outside-only GFI protected circuit. Code be damned.

Hey Kyle, Hi Casey, I think you've got some Leprechauns playing tricks on you with the electric 😂 I guess it's the wait & see game now. Electrical/plumbing are the 2 things I don't work on at my house.
The breaker going into the middle position is the position it goes when the breaker trips. That’s normal. That breaker appears to be a GFCI breaker (that little button on the breaker will test the breaker, the same way a GFI outlet works) these breakers are more sensitive. You solved the problem, when you plug the outside lights in breaker tripped. That means there is something wrong w what you plugged in, prolly water, dew etc. The breaker is working as it should.
I just asked my son he used to be in ELECTRICIAN and he said do you never mess with electricity higher and ELECTRICIAN? It will be well worth your money.
Kyle I do a large Christmas display, think Great Christmas Light Fight level and rain can and certainly will trip your breaker and your GFI outlet. You can bypass by plugging into a non GFI outlet if you have to have it lit during a storm I’m not an electrician but that’s what I’ve done many times during rain as people come by our display to see every night
My family loves watching your videos! We laughed when Casey was fixing the napkin because that is so me!!! Also- side note Casey I love your decorating and saw your cabinets so I did mine but with red ribbon! Thanks for the idea.
Anyone have any thoughts? Forgot to add.. the power was lost while the Christmas lights were still plugged in. Works now, have no idea why
What ever was tripping dried out. You should put your outside plug on a GFCI .
Check your gfci outlets, it could need reset, it has two buttons in between the plugs
My Florida home only has 2, which I’m not used too. One is outside on the front of the house in an outside outlet and one is in one of my bathrooms for the entire house. Hope this helps

If they aren't LED lights you might have to many plugged into one outlet. You can run another extention cord from another outlet.

Hey Kyle, have you reset the GFCI on the outside outlet? There are 2 buttons on the outlets. 1 will say test, the other reset
My husband is a contractor. You need to see if you have a GFI on your outside outlet. If not, you need to install one. That should solve it. If you need more help with home issues, let me know. It is great being married to a contractor.
This was my first thought too.
call an electrician- and call a different one than did the work for your TV, in case his work is contributing to this issue.
Same issue. Sprinklers were getting to the plugs. Used some electrical tape and wrap all the connections.
Check for a ground fault reset on your outdoor outlets
You have a GFI circuit. It is sensing water and a short to ground. A HUGE safety upgrade. Otherwise, if your body touched the short the power would enter your body. Replace the lights
They are brand new lights
@lindahonrath310 Obviously defective. They are blowing the GFI circuit prevention. NOT the main circuit breaker which does not sense ground faults .
@@garywilson9640 his plug is not GFI he has a GFI breaker for that circuit on the panel

It may be that you're pulling more power than your fuse is rated for.....

Turn on the TV, when power is working, to see if your drawing too much power.
Please call an electrician ASAP!!
It's weird to keep your butter in the fridge. Just put in a butter dish and it's fine.
Word to the wise...always hire professional contractors for any home repairs...it's less expensive than hiring a handyman!
I vote YES for more scavenger hunts! That was hilarious and casey knowing all those things are moved made me LOL 😂 that was so fun!

Love how Casey could see every hiding place because something was out of place 😂
Happy Saturday Kyle & Casey! I’m so excited to watch this vlog this afternoon 🩷✨🫶🥰
Just went to Disneyland yesterday and it was 77! Time for you and Casey to come back !
The scavenger hunt was really fun!
I seriously had visions of Christmas Vacation watching this! I😂
Sounds like a GFI issue. Best to call a good licensed electrician who will explain to you the GFI, circuits causes and effects inside and outside of your home. Probably an easy fix but I would not mess with outside lights for now.

Our lights always trip the GFI when there is a small amount of rain. Check to see if it is tripped somewhere

It's like spring here in Colorado Springs. Sunny and 55 is warm on the brink of hot because of how close we are to the sun. High elevation.
I’m glad your lights are working! My husband wraps the connections with black electrical tape! (For the lights outside)

Hi Kyle, from early Sunday morning here in Australia.
Hi Kyle and Casey! The scavenger hunt was so much fun!❤ I used to do a similar hunt when I was a kid...its so much fun! Yes ..please do another one but make it harder but the reward would be an extra special present🎁🎁 I think that would be awesome! Love you both! ❤ 🎄 PS glad the lights work 🎄
Maybe the socket was wet and needed to dry out
hi firstly i would upgrade the breaker to a 20 amp and would also plastic wrap the plug connections to your lights
My electrician hubby say it’s probably a loose connection in the outlet.
your outdoor plug needs to be GFCI. Call an electrician to swap it out
our lights trip from the sprinklers all the time.
You need to have the outside socket replaced with a GFCI socket.
Kyle your not stupid we love that u are real with us. You just got Clark grinswald lol if u know u know
Oh no Kyle. Hope everything is good. Could be very annoying dealing with things like this. Anyway let’s watch
Sounds like you had/have a ground fault. Any idea which GFI outlet that outdoor plug is fed from? You could have got water in one of the light plugs outside and it will cause a GFI outlet to trip. Did y’all have rain recently?
I was hear for Cancun. Been around since March, 2020. Thanks for all you do!!!
Check to see if GFI is tripping. Another thought, how old is house? GFI plugs get really sensitive and easy to trip with age and in that case have plug replaced. I just lived this!!
Check to see if the outside lights have a fuse
Outdoor sockets should have a built in gif button on middle upgrade the outdoor sockets to 20amp with GFI.......gfi outdoor sockets are code here in fla. Bet those are
15 amps sockets
Good Morning Kyle and Casey have a Wonderful Day
An Electrician is a great idea for your home safety 💡
Scavenger Hunt was fun and awesome 🎅🏻👍🤶
7:00 Those lights work because they’re dry now, I’d wager. They need to be replaced
More importantly: outside plugs belong on their own outside-only GFI protected circuit. Code be damned.
Been here since Oct. 2019, love your content and your family! Here for many more 🎉
Nice chill vlog. Love Casey’s nails - can you share where she gets them done as we travel to Florida often and could make an appt while there. Thank you!
To many watts going at same time will short the fuse
KYLE the Pack made us WORK for it! GB is all class and Love is a huge threat; it will be a fight every single time! As a diehard Lions fan all respect to you and yours. If you make it further than us best believe I’ll put the cheese grater down and be cheering you guys on 👏🏼
If don't already know JoJo will also be on it.
Loved the scavenger hunt!! Do it more!!
Love the video, the breakfast sandwich looked yummy 🤤 ❤❤
Hey Kyle, Hi Casey, I think you've got some Leprechauns playing tricks on you with the electric 😂 I guess it's the wait & see game now. Electrical/plumbing are the 2 things I don't work on at my house.
Butter bell.
I love this scavenger hunt. Great idea Kyle.
PROBALLY MOISTER IN THE PLUGS CAUSING THE BREAKER TO POP
The breaker going into the middle position is the position it goes when the breaker trips. That’s normal. That breaker appears to be a GFCI breaker (that little button on the breaker will test the breaker, the same way a GFI outlet works) these breakers are more sensitive. You solved the problem, when you plug the outside lights in breaker tripped. That means there is something wrong w what you plugged in, prolly water, dew etc. The breaker is working as it should.
Thank you!!
You can bypass by plugging into a non GFI outlet if you have to have it lit during a storm
I’m not an electrician but that’s what I’ve done many times during rain as people come by our display to see every night
My family loves watching your videos! We laughed when Casey was fixing the napkin because that is so me!!! Also- side note Casey I love your decorating and saw your cabinets so I did mine but with red ribbon! Thanks for the idea.
Loose neutral in the outlet , need to open the outlet to tighten
Lowe’s: twist and seal waterproof extension cord plug connection protector.
Kyle! Can’t wait to see you on the Treasure!
I always wanted to know if you read all the comments thanks for telling us
I try my best
I read them all😂❤😂
