It's crazy how in theaters the biggest plot twist was that potentially Darth Vader could be Luke Skywalker's Father and Kristen was the one who shot J.R. all in 1 year, 1980.

A British tabloid offered him $100K US to reveal the shooter. Hagman said he didn't know because the writers had arranged at least 7 different scenarios with different shooters so the mystery wouldn't be revealed
This was played up as a media event for that evening. The social buzz was something I've never seen before or since. I was living in the San Francisco market at the time, where the TV station, KPIX, the CBS-TV affiliate for the region, had TV news anchor Dave McElhatton going on-camera as the lead-in intro for this Dallas episode, as this TV episode was that newsworthy. I can't recall being a Dallas viewer prior to that episode, where I'll admit that I got sucked into the media buzz to give this a view; which got me hooked on the TV series until my interest dwindled in the last season.
Has anybody else noticed that when Sue Ellen drive up in the taxi they’re obviously at the real Southfork. But in the next shot, they’re back on the soundstage and the fake outside. 😂😂. I’m sure that was a well guarded set that day. 😳😳

When we meet Kristen (a different actress) in the prior season, she comes out of the gate making sure JR noticed how she would look at him. And she wanted Bobby, too. Then when we get this AMAZING Kristen this season, she was jealous of Sue Ellen and wanted everything she had. Plus she was all about lying, deceiving, conniving and manipulating. She was a lot of fun.😂🤣😂 Your heart would always break for Sue Ellen. I know mine did.
As it was told to me, my mum had just called her family back in Ireland to let them know she was pregnant with me, thinking they’d be delighted to hear the good news. Instead my Nanny said to her “did yous find out who shot JR?!” My mum was not a fan of the show and was like “who is JR and I didn’t even know he was shot!” When I was young the family across the pond was also very much in to Dynasty (Dinn-a-stee as they pronounced it) and my mum would on the phone saying to my aunt “Jeeezus I don’t have any f-ing clue about what happened with Alexis this week on Dynasty”
I understand your calling out that detail. I know when Kristin shot JR, she had black gloves on. When Kristin planted the gun on Sue Ellen, though she didn't have a glove or a tissue, Kristin did seem to use her long nails to hold onto the trigger guard of the gun without barely leaving a print. It's a stretch but is plausible.
My mom got a random call from someone in Australia asking who shot JR. My mom hadn't really kept up with the show, so it was a short call. Funny the things you remember. I was maybe 12?
See there's no way he would have killed Kristin if he believes that she was carrying his child she wasn't but he doesn't know that at that moment as bad as JR Was I think his one weakness was John Ross his son with Sue Ellen and his Momma I think he did love Miss Ellie and his father Jock I think it was a complicated relationship with JR Jock and Bobby.
