Have you ever noticed how many woodworkers are veterans...or how many get out and study engineering? This is the type of interview that I will have to watch multiple times. Thanks for bringing this into my world!
#ThirdCoastCraftsman I'm currently 33, did 11 years in the Canadian air force, currently studying for an engineering degree, and realized a year ago my heart wasn't in it. So I've started slowly getting back into my passion and where I truly know my heart is, carpentry/woodworking. It's extremely motivating watching you speak of pretty much the exact pattern I'm going through. Ill be building my shop come fall, and cannot wait to grab my coffee, start my fire stove, and build things with my hands every single day. Thank you, just shows me if you can, I can.
Chris is by far my biggest inspiration, I think the only reason I have a collection of hand tools is because of watching his videos. Really love the point about showing off the joinery and letting the subtle design features speak for themselves.
Very constructive videos and teachings on woodwork. I have just started an interest in this venture, Very primary yet but i do get there. Ruby - South africa
Hello Eric. I've been a fan since day one and a woodworker for over 40 years. I am glad to see that the show is back and better than ever. I, like Chris am told that my super power is finding the hardest way of doing things, but I maintain that whatever you put into your project you will get back in quality, craftsmanship and pride. I thank you for giving us insight into the different crafts, being fearless in trying your hand at said crafts and asking the thoughtful questions that you do. Bravo Eric.
@@CraftsmansLegacy Thanks for the response. I have taught woodworking and finishing and I always tell my students that failure is a luxury and if you never allow yourself that luxury, you will never find out how good you can be. Also, I have learned far more from my failures than from my successes and if you don't know that something is impossible you might make it possible.
I have just started to watch this channel and I have fallen in love with it. It is so relaxing to watch real crafts people working. Big hello from all the way over in Northern Ireland!
Chris is the real deal, I’ve been a subscriber to his UA-cam channel for a long time. It’s great to see you back doing A Craftsman’s Legacy Eric, you know what a fan I am of you and the whole concept of A Craftsman’s Legacy.
Have enjoyed the show for years. I 've been a guitar builder for over 40+ years and your show always has a new twist of skills. Never stop learning there is always new ideals ahead. Keep up the good work!!!!
It was a long wait, but YOU MADE IT! Excellent episode sir... Congratulations! A perfect way to forget the insanity of the world for a 1/2 hr. I can't wait for the next episode! Thanks Eric!
It was wonderful to see the beginning of a new season for ACL!! Chris was the perfect craftsman to feature for episode #1! I thought that it was very special that his journey into craftsmanship was very similar to your own, Eric. You both were inspired by your grandfather's love for woodworking! What a beautiful legacy!! The bookshelf turned out great! So amazing that most of the intricate work was done with hand tools! Chris is such a talented and creative craftsman! His shop is awesome and that workbench is amazing! Glad to see you back Eric! God bless!!
You had a clip of Chris making a farm table with breadboard ends. I used that video series to help me build my first farm table and have been a follower of his ever since. Great and humble guy, amazing craftsman. Thank you for the video!
What another great episode, Eric. There's a cool, calm, easy, and interesting manner (I can't pick just one adjective!) in how you interview. Thanks for the great "edutainment".
Brilliant show! I loved the fact that he puts so much thought into his projects before he even begins to build them. It’s worth mentioning that one has to have a lot of patience and skill to NOT take the “short cuts.” Great job, Eric.
I also noticed the peace associated during this build. I assure you I love peace, and nothing shall interfere it leading to severe consequences. Great video. Semper Fi
I’ve watched so many of these videos and I loved all of them. This particular one though I feel like I could study a lifetime with this guy in his shop and love every minute of it.

Once again Eric, you’ve given all of us another fantastic interview. As a woodworker myself, this was not only informative, but enjoyable to watch. Keep up the good work!!
I loved the video. It took me back to when my father taught me how to use hand tools. Now I teach my kids woodworking and this video is a prime example of using a few modern tools, like a table saw, and hand tools to make a show piece. Thank you.
Even though I love all your videos, this one was tops! Great project, Great guest, Fantastic presentation. The Craftsman or Artist question is something I've come to look for in every episode and it was delivered with grace and style as always. Keep 'em coming Eric. Thanks!
Nice! Favorite UA-cam series featuring a favorite channel! Third Coast Craftsman is a woodworking god. I started watching him years ago when he did a (rolling?) tray with all kinds of cool traditional joinery, half hand tool and half power. Probably watched his whole catalog by now

Chris is such a cool, easy-going guy! I'm also from Michigan (Southwest to be exact) and L.L. Johnson has a location near me in South Bend, Indiana. They are a top notch company with a huge selection of high quality lumber.
Excellent episode. I love the detail you go into with all the craftsmen you interview allowing us to see the “back story” as to how they came to do what they do and the struggles along the way. Thank you.
Eric, you found another awesome craftsman. I enjoy how you project respect for the featured people on your show. Chris has another story beyond his woodworking. He found a community and a way to live his dream of old-time craftsmanship using modern media.
Just watched this (May 5, 2022). I built.a trestle table, 30”x84” in red oak (the hardwood dealer did not have white oak) in 2018. The table used the techniques. It was a stretch for me, but was great to finish.
What a wonderful episode! Great atmosphere between you two, a cozy workshop and Chris seems to be a great, relaxed teacher! All the best from an aspiring woodworker in Germany, I will follow your path to see where you will take us
