I think my favorite thing was the live chat spent half the time talking about how they were so excited to see Pumat again and how the cast must be so excited and...Travis and Laura didn't even remember that he was there.
2:33 For those wondering, the big purple phoenix thing is called Desirat and is a lessor idol/divine spirit that was aligned with Asmodeus. They were magically imprisoned under Mount Mentiri at some point during the Calamity, but the thing they're probably most well known for is being one third of a mutual aid pact involving Quajath the rock worm and none other than good ol' Uk'otoa, which was depicted on the mural under the Yuan-ti temple the Mighty Nein explored during Campaign 2
Was Desirat the thing they saw in the Hellcatch so long ago? It was a big purple phoenix I think with like purple flames. They barely were able to hide from it when they were in the airship.
I just noticed... What if, when the disenchantment wave crossed Exandria, some of the Pumats got disspelled and just fell into a pile of snow, mid-work... I wouldn't want to see that as a surviving Pumat D:
"Oh sure, I'm a magnificent being of dread fire who once decimated entire civilizations and served as the personal companion of Asmodeus himself, fighting at his side during the wars of the gods! But THAT cowardly, overgrown sea snake gets its own song AND its own board game?! Where in the hells is MY merch!"
So… …there was this wizard (some of you may know him)…who was killed in my campaign; and his simulacrum was still around afterwards. Depending on how things “worked out”; he had a shot at becoming “real”. …well, it “kind of” worked; and now this simulacrum made of snow become a fully-fledged version of the original dead wizard. …except, later on; he began to melt. …so he stole the “Ring of Winter”; and is using it to maintain his frosty form until he figures out a way to maintain his humanoid form permanently. He’s an…interesting fellow: I wouldn’t call him a good person, but he isn’t outright evil. More like…unhinged, eccentric, and now very, VERY desperate.
I am so unbelievably tired of C3 leaning on references to other campaigns to maintain itself, and not being brave enough to rely on its own characters and stories. From having the entirety of Vox Machina AND the Mighty Nein step in to help them, to this thing, it's just kinda... done. As much as I like the party, I'll be glad to start a new campaign with a fresh setting.
This campaign looks like a MCU post end game. Just stand thx to fan service, nostalgia and Mat constantly bringing back successfully old PNG and previous campaign Pc
Eh, I think the nostalgia takes away more than it brings because the callbacks seem to upstage the main characters. Pumat Sol is a lot of fun, though, so I don't mind him as much as Percy, Kelith, and the others.
Kinda the opposite for me, the whole reason i haven't watch the 3rd campaign yet, is because they keep bringing back people from previous campaigns, and not as cameos but as an important part of the narrative, so i had to watch all of vox machina before i can start this one (i started with the mighty nein) If it were like the mighty nein, a completly separate continent, and because of that a self contained narrative with just a few cameos, i would jump right on it. But instead i need to do "homework". I still have like 5 episodes of vox machina, so im close but burnt out.

Even in the grim darkness of the future there will only be pumat

I feel this was referenced in the circus in episode 1 of Campaign 2.
*whispers* Uk'otoa
@@WardNightstone *whisper echo* Uk’otoa
@@Juice1984 It was! Kinda crazy that an Ukotoa level threat got released.

As soon as the Pumats get existential you gotta reset and make a new batch or else things get weird.
ASIMOV CASCADE

The sheer joy on not only the cast's faces but Matt's as well ❤
Desirat is just upset she didn’t get a catchy song like her cousin Uko’toa.

I just realised Pumat sounds kinda like Kronk, lol
Kronk if he was 10% less jock and 10% more salesman
I was just gonna say the Pumat voice started as some kind of John Wayne type thing in the beginning and now he's just Kronk
Can't believe it took 3 campaigns for the main villain to realize pumat has the right idea
Pumat is starting to sound like a Dakotan version of Kronk from Emperor's New Groove
If I had been a player, I would've said "Don't worry man - we all return to dust at some point."
Not only is this the firet Robbie gets to experience Pumat Sol, but Ashley also wasn't there the first time
Travis making a Bo Burnham Inside reference was peak hahaha
What was the reference?
@@erickmejia4602 5:10 Travis saying "Socko."
Weird to me that Imogen didn't offer to cast sending for them to reach prime.

Ok, real talk though.... Has Pumat gotten his Basilisk Oil since we saw him last?

This campaign is on life support, kept alive by nostalgia.
what? they just got back from the goddamn moon!
Who hurt you?
Shut the fuck up and stop watching you waste of space

OMG, what a waste of time
Gathering magic items to fight the BBEG is a waste of time?
What? Getting items?
It's called "roleplay", it happens a lot in TTRPGs
