Such a great update video👍 You got that right about the winds here in Arizona, such beautiful days but the wind and the gusts have been non stop ! Hey I really think that's a great choice for your wood stove, your little cabin is starting to come together. Ur pine will need more water and a slightly shady site like under a sage or cover brush. It helps centralize rain fall and provides placement of cool root soil for about two years .

I would definitely go with the pecan trees.
You asked for input so here's mine. I would put the tree sprouts for both into pots. Sprouts are very tender and fragile. You don't have their natural growing habitats so a chance they will die from not enough water and too much sun and or heat. When you buy young trees from a nursery they are several years old and still quite small. Also bugs and birds like to eat or dig around young plants and wet spots. Trees need a lot of water. What I can e of your water system, it looks like you will be way short of what is needed for non native species of plants in any large quantity. I have lost most of my plants from not enough water.
