Here's the difference between hate and criticism in action. Last week, I received an Amazon package. I was out, so the package had been put in the wheelie bin! I was livid, and I wanted to write an angry review loaded with swear words (hate). But I decided it'd be better to write a constructive review saying what to do better (criticism). Even if it is basic common sense to not put a package in the bin!
I agree with your overall message and I apply it myself to how I live, it's just even I myself have a hard time explaining / teaching someone else how to develop "thicker skin" so to speak. It just came with time for me, plus learning some coping strategies here and there. But I can't inject somebody else with my time and experience. So it's putting myself in those people's shoes to learn how to cope for their insecurities
yeah this a good overall message but the one thing this message doesn't touch upon is that people should also have the ability to separate/differentiate hate from criticism, more importantly constructive criticism cause in my life i have learnt that they are mainly two types of constructive criticism, the first being the type of constructive criticism that offer's/comes with a solution to the problem , and the second one is the type that doesn't come with a solution to the problem instead it challenges you to figure it out on your own, a perfect example of this would be the dislike button that was on UA-cam ( this particular type of constructive criticism is often confused for hate when it is not) to conclude, this message is good one overall as long as people can / are able to differentiate the difference between hate and constructive criticism instead of lumping it all together as hate, cause I have met people who are like that and they are honestly the worst. PS: sorry for the use of few punctuation marks it is quite late here and I am tired. Regardless would love to hear your opinion on what I just said
My only guess is that because people use the internet to post about themselves for quote-unquote "pity" or "support," the more people are taught this philosophy, the more they think their Virtual identity is everything and shouldn't be judged. How convenient this episode came two seasons after the shots on how people are using photoshop on themselves to fantasize about being the perfect you that you want to be. It's one thing to take offense if someone tells you that you should work out more to lose weight when their probably thinking less of having more skinny white boys and more about trying to stop you from having a heart attack. Still, it's something that crosses the line if you want to live in a fantasy where no one says anything about your lifestyle. I don't drink as much water as everyone else and drink mtn dew instead of coffee and booze. Just cause someone has something to say shouldn't mean I should get offended if it's something that I enjoy.
Also, such people that photoshop themselves are normally the bully in disguise. If they photoshop, is because they get truly insecure, but they will post about how you should not be insecure. That could only mean if they see someone that is not photoshoped and popular as them, that means they see this one as truly flawed, because is the same flaws they are covering with photoshop. Bonus point if they bully someone for it. I think this only feed more of such insecurity at the point that young and vulnerable people really want to try hard to achieve barely possible status, only to fail miserable and cry a lot. Consequently, the criticism comes in and breaks even more their false sense of reality, at a point that such shame makes them think it is too much and should be "deleted". I'm kinda gladly to be a millenial, at least at my time people really don't cared about nothing. Maybe too much, lol...

IVE been called lots of names when I was younger, and when it does happen to me now, I just brush it off, because it doesn’t bother me. I don’t let people bullying me fuel my life, but I do make sure it doesn’t effect me too much. Sometimes criticism is a good thing, but it depends on what it is. If someone gives criticism on an animation by saying, “Maybe try a different animating software” that’s giving criticism, but also giving some valid advice in a sense. South Park has done a decent job at poking fun at stuff, and even taking about serious topics.

“Respectful” language isn’t the same thing as pc. The term came from the Soviet Union. It was about knowing something was true but not saying it because it hurt the “party line.” Basically lying to maintain political orthodoxy.
I agree with the overall message, that we should prepare people for the harshness of reality rather than completely sheltering them from it. But I think some level of regulation on certain online spaces is fine. Like if a subreddit wants to ban slurs (aka a thing that adds nothing to a discussion), then that's probably fine. Especially if there's moderators willing to do the job, unlike Butters who was basically forced into being a moderator. On the other hand, I think big platforms like Twitter and UA-cam have gone way too far with de-platforming people, sometimes for seemingly unknown reasons.
Season 20's trolling plot also shows how not to handle Internet hate. Gerald kept trolling because he got a kick out of pissing people off. They could've easily ignored the trolling and stopped giving him fuel. But what did they do? Denmark started a war over the trolling!

I feel like if you're a public figure, you should expect and embrace hate. On the other hand, if you just have your own personal account like on Instagram, and you happen to make it public, there should be no shame in deleting comments you aren't comfortable with. It can be easier not to care what someone says when you have the power to just not let them say it in your space anymore. But like, if you're trying to reach an audience of people besides friends and relatives, just suck it up and let it come. If you're allowed to hate on celebrities and personas you dislike, then everyone should be allowed to hate on celebrities and personas they dislike as well, even if it's you.
I myself have my comments on Instagram set to people I follow only, so I'm not getting bullied on my personal page. I fully expect to get hate if I comment on someone else's shit, but my own posts? I don't want that kind of environment on my own personal little page for my friends and I. I just don't private my account because I want it to be easier for potential new friends to find me, but I find bullies usually don't wanna go through the trouble of getting to know me so I can let them comment on my shit.
