He broke alamaki's car lap before in his previous(!) overtake witch Alamaki zeroed with ease. Alamaki had all the balls on this one. Scanche was fast but asshole on track like Schumacher!
And they come across the front lawn, round the porch they go, AND THE MAILBOX HAS BEEN TAKEN OUT!, the dogs ARE barking, past the disabled lawn tractor, thru the shed, and up against the hedge.

John Welch hit almost everybody in those first 10 seconds! Dimi Mavropoulos went from last to 2nd because of it!
Always action if Schanche was involved. He would either win, or have some spectacular accident most often.

I was there, and it was the best years of Rallycross
All the US got during this era was foxbody mustangs and gbody Chevys. Never even heard of turbo or AWD until 10 years later.
Perhaps if you listened better; fox mustang was avaliable with a similar turbo 4 cylinder.
