I just bought it and I drove it from Chicago to Las Vegas round trip, and let me tell you is a great vehicle, I wish the seats were a little be more comfortable, they're a little hard for me and if the ventilated seats would blow air from the AC would it be cold air. The Infinity speakers sounds REALLY GOOD! From 1 to 10 I'll give to the Sedona SXL a solid 8. I totally agree with your review...BUY IT!!!
t1l1l1n I had chrysler and dodge caravan and honda... I love the kia... I have 2016 sxl sadona and boys what a treat! the family love's it. Dodge caravan can't keep a transmission in them and honda just falls apart! constantly putting part back on at the dam dealer! only down side to the kia is gas mileage...that comes with well built van! added safety
I have a 2015 Lincoln MKC 2.0 AWD and i think after it's bit the dust. I'm going to switch to a Sedona yes i'll miss having the AWD. But you put a pair of Nokian all weather tires or something similar on this van. It will handle the winter and light trails just fine i feel. Beautiful minivan.
Completely agree. Rumor has it the 2017 Odyssey will have AWD. I will wait to see because I just don't dig the Sienna's aesthetic. But AWD is a big thing for me. I don't live in snow but near the Sierra Mountains, so I want the versatility it offers. No reviews of minivans ever address this stuff. Fantastic review this one.
@@CauseEffectPostThe odyssey dose not have awd But I own A 2014 Honda Odyssey I just put cooper at3s on it and its amazing I live In Colorado I took it on a off road trail and it did amazing and in the snow its pretty good so putting at3s on a minivan Is like the ultimate tire combo ever It gives you SUV capabilities.
For a van it don't look to bad. It would be kinda nice though if they could give it enough power to be fun to drive. At least somewhat fun on a straight away. Either that or better MPGs. Even better would be both. Guess that would probably jack the price up though.
Hi Nathan Adlen. Great review of the Sedona. I have a 7 passenger Santa Fe AWD and am needing something bigger and considering a Sedona. We live in a snow region and was wondering how well the Sedona handled for you in the snow? Handling, getting up a hill or ever getting stuck in the snow? I am planning on leasing and don't want to invest in snow tires. Please let me know your thoughts/opinion. Thank you.
Pros: Style and lux options Cons: Cramped 3rd row, no roof mounted DVD player, low fuel economy. IMO it's the minivan for people who don't need minivans.
needs more torque not hp. Sadly, you did not review the most important feature of a minivan... hauling kids and with that, comes their car seats. It looked like the one in the third row was up against the second row's back. I understand the seats slide back n forth (second row) but how does it look with a rear facing car seat in the second row and fwd facing car seat in the third?
I bought a used Kia Sedona LX 2017 that it had 10,000 miles. Now it has 30,000 miles. I drove from Las Vegas to California several times with zero problem. My previous customer was a professional mechanic who maintained a Kia Sedona LX 2015 that it had 400,000 miles. He said that the engine and transmission are really reliable. He used mobil 1 synthetic oil and filter. I was a car salesman for almost 10 years and I worked with chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, ram dealership. Take my advice guys, don't ever buy Chrysler Pacifica because it has a lot of problems like transmission, sliding doors, engine shut off by itself etc.... Kia Sedona 3.3L engine was made by Mitsubishi company.....center console armrest of Kia Sedona is way better than Honda and Toyota.
I really want to see how the honda hrv does on snow and ice..... I'm looking for a good all year around vehicle to get me around denver and highlands ranch in the snow and up the hill to central city. doesn't need to be fast just reliable. quinella pass is also a camping favorite in the summers I just dont want to get stuck, the golden oldie our 2000 rav4 gets around great up there by the way.... thank for all the videos by the way!
Why dont they put a 3.0 Diesel in this minivan, would go like stink with that torque and would not eat your gas-money up as quickly as this engine does. I know a lot of american guys think diesel engines only belong in big trucks and most of those drive more like a semi than a car, but as an engineer from Germany I can tell you : Proper Diesel engines rock! I drove the new Dodge Ram EcoDiesel last year, and the powertrain realy fits the needs of a proper half ton truck. I drove one back here in Germany a few weeks ago, they fiddled a bit with the ECU to increase boost and this one ran like a 5,7 V8 and still gets over 30 mpg
We bought at Kia Forte, base model manual little over a month ago. Kind of wishing we didn't. Very cheap stuff in it, and shifting from first to second to third is clunky and kind of noisy. Live and learn I guess.
+Applekid On my second Optima Kia (2013). Love it. 5 Years of ownership with both cars and I had only one problem. My 2011 Kia had a sticky gas cap release. Lease is up in March next year. Will purchase it. The cars value is almost 3500 dollars more then the buyout price.
+Robert Drake my sister just bought a base model kia forte a couple of months ago and she loves it ( hers was a automatic though ), I a couple of months before her got a nissan versa and her car was so much better than mine, the ride was better, it looked better inside and out, it had more features than mine ( my car is nissan versa sv ) I was completely jealous of her since I liked her car ( I 2 years ago had the kia sportage so I already liked kia ), I only bought the versa because it was cheap and you get what you pay for and with my car its nothing really the only good thing about my car is that it consistently gets over 40 mpg the gauge currently says 40.2 average mpg.
+william millsap What I can say in its favour is the onboard meter is saying we're getting 5.4L/100Km which is 44MPG US gallon. My wife really likes it. The dealer says the odd shifting is normal and will adjust to our shifting pattern over time. We'll see.
$43.000+. My new Kia Sedona fully loaded in 2008 was $28,000. You do the math. Gas mileage for this Sedona is terrible. My 2008 gets 24 highway and 19 city. I like the front end but not the rear. More horsepower means less gas mileage. How much power do you need to get from A to B???
Lol, more horsepower doesn't instantly mean less mileage, it just means that the engine has been optimized for better airflow and combustion. If anything the reason for less MPG is due to more weight or the drivetrain. I will agree that $43k is a lot for a minivan tho
I personally hate Hyundais designs like the genesis cause it looks like a copy of a couple cars, but kids look much more nice, Thai is actually a very good looking minivan but I fell the sienna is bette looking and you get Japanese reliability.
this is the bottom line , for the same price you can buy the sienna ,oddysey , or the quest , why anyone would even consider the kia is silly, it would have to be 10k cheaper to be worth it . look up a 5 yr old value of all of them kia and hyundai values plummet plus I would rather have anything almost in the garage than a kia or hyundai those things have always been junk if they didnt have that warranty they would not sell , well news to people toyotas and hondas last forever warranty or not there is not a chance I would buy it ,

the masses have spoken. we want to see tommy do a review
I bet they could get a pinball machine in the back of that van.
+anewacc Bloody excellent, one of the best comments I've ever read. It deserves a million thumbs up.
I thought the Rocky mountains would be a little rockier than this

Back in the Philippines, Kia Besta and Kia Pregio where so popular. Wish they have it here.
It is my dream
ok so now id love to see a sienna AWD in the snow

It really is all about having the right tires.
When do we stop calling them Mini Vans?
Lets call them UUV it stands for Ultimate Utility Vehicle.
+The Fast Lane Car you should review the Transit connect isn't that considered a minivan
For a van it don't look to bad. It would be kinda nice though if they could give it enough power to be fun to drive. At least somewhat fun on a straight away. Either that or better MPGs. Even better would be both. Guess that would probably jack the price up though.
What's wrong with the lights in front? They were flickering anytime you were driving.
Great review! Thanks!!
The table haven't been used in the two Chrysler vans since 2010.
When is hybrid minivans coming?
Good looking , beautiful interior , cabin noise is way better then odyssey , but 2 things expensive + small from inside
great review thank you very much

can you guys review the toyota sienna?
What kind of continental tires did you use?
Pros: Style and lux options
Cons: Cramped 3rd row, no roof mounted DVD player, low fuel economy.
IMO it's the minivan for people who don't need minivans.
I forgot to turn my volume from full down before I started the video, oh me and my heart regretted it

Why don't you do the sienna with the available AWD?
I bought a used Kia Sedona LX 2017 that it had 10,000 miles. Now it has 30,000 miles. I drove from Las Vegas to California several times with zero problem. Doesn’t beat the sienna with all wheel drive
I really want to see how the honda hrv does on snow and ice..... Guys do some Toyota Sienna AWD on snowy or even muddy tracks. Thanks.
"Later on I'm going to tell you why those three letters (SXL) are very important"......never does.....sigh.
Did you forget to mention no entertainment in it either. Which is weird even in the top of the line! The DVD player with screen!
+GBraidi78 Who needs it, mostly everyone with kids has a tablet of some kind now.

+Kenny600 They have a 2.2L Diesel available in other countries and it has plenty of power for the car (147kw /199hp & 440nm)
Can you make one with a sienna
Consumer Reports - "This minivan was made to look like a SUV, but the ride isn't supple and there are squeaks and rattles. Steering is "vague."
Ivan Vojt bull crap this van is tight don't fall apart like honda or chrysler lol
You can't do a winter review without winter tires
We bought at Kia Forte, base model manual little over a month ago. Kind of wishing we didn't. Very cheap stuff in it, and shifting from first to second to third is clunky and kind of noisy. Live and learn I guess.
I don't mean to rub it in but, those cars are real prices of garbage. A lot of people feel just like you with there Kia.
+Applekid If you buy a low end car from ANY car company, it will be "garbage"

Snow in August, that's got to suck. :)
I think this was filmed a while ago and uploaded know but who am I to say that.
+Howard Robinson yeah I wasn't thinking about that so thank for letting me know. :)
WHY DONT YOU COMPARE ALL OF THE MINIVANS AT ONCE?!?!?!?

He was being sarcastic abt the nissan quest
Are those headlight trim lights supposed to flicker like that? Is that a setting? Mine does not do that. Thanks
trevor bruce it's because of the camera lol they don't blink...
agreed on the cvt , scratch the quest ,
I personally hate Hyundais designs like the genesis cause it looks like a copy of a couple cars, but kids look much more nice, Thai is actually a very good looking minivan but I fell the sienna is bette looking and you get Japanese reliability.
+Jonathan Altieri Thats right but Kia and Hyundai rip off designs luxury cars.
+Jonathan A I actually can see a little bit of an Audi interior in this Kia. Not that that's a bad thing.
The Sedona was named one of the worst cars of 2015 by consumer reports
+Chris McManus Well every other car reviewer rated it extremely high, so they messed up. (assuming your correct)
+Ethan Martin *you're and I can send you the article its in the October issue of consumer reports
+Chris McManus Can you paste the link in a comment
+Ethan Martin www.consumerreports.org/cro/magazine/2015/08/best-and-worst-cars-of-2015/index.htm
+Chris McManus Thanks. I read and listed to the video. I think they just rated it poorly because they think its a better SUV than a minivan.
It's better looking than any sienna ,they look like a minivan body on a corolla chassis ,nasty
i have sedona 2015 sxl in iraq
Directed injected
this is the bottom line , for the same price you can buy the sienna ,oddysey , or the quest , why anyone would even consider the kia is silly, it would have to be 10k cheaper to be worth it . look up a 5 yr old value of all of them kia and hyundai values plummet plus I would rather have anything almost in the garage than a kia or hyundai those things have always been junk if they didnt have that warranty they would not sell , well news to people toyotas and hondas last forever warranty or not there is not a chance I would buy it ,
"They've always been junk"? Not always, no. And the Quest with the CVT...now that's a joke.
