Marbled Rock Roast would be hilarious if they could make that. I would love to see how creative Alvin can get
I feel like the most possible way to recreate that and still have it be... well, edible, would be to make something salt crusted, but it really would be a work of creativity to figure out how to recreate that. I know I'd be too daunted!
With how much the roast emphasizes marbling I'd expect the Babish team to use Wagyu, but (as another reply mentioned) if it were to be salt crusted so as to be more solid, I wonder if that would simply be a waste of Wagyu... I'm sure Alvin (or Kendall, with her knowledge) would be able to figure something out lol.

honestly i feel like you could do that with a pork belly roast, the chicharrón would be hard and crispy & give it that “rock” aesthetic along with the fatty marbling of the belly

Oh, Alvin, old southern lady here. After the flour dredge, set the chicken on a rack for at least 30 minutes. It lets the flour hydrate and stick better. Also, frying large meats is best done outside over a non flammable surface for safety. Regular cut up chicken can be done in the kitchen. That brine looks yum!

Loving the application of possible in game ingredients and their real life counterparts.
They've always done that with any game/animated show.
With large frying especially, any excess moisture can cause a dramatic explosion from the oil.
Anyone trying at home should definitely be aware that coating the bird liberally in flour and very slowly lowering it into just enough oil to cover it, is the only way of safely frying.
Be safe when handling hot oils and have a plan/educate yourself for how to stop an oil based fire because dumping water on it will only cause a dangerous reaction.

This is a bad idea and hope people don’t get hurt. At least turn the burner off while adding the chicken. Did they? And lower it in with a hook. Those exist for a reason.

This sounds deliciously simple. I would definitely try the flavoring from the recipe, but with chicken parts or a butchured whole since I don't have access to a professional grade kitchen.

Shame something like this wasn't in the Unofficial Zelda Cookbook I got recently, but that book only had recipes from Breath of the Wild. (Plus some recipes from a few past Zelda games, like the Elixir Soup and Hyoi Pear from Wind Waker.)
If anyone tries anything like this turn of the heat if you have a gas powered stove when putting meat in. If theres any oil spillage ut could be a wall of flames but turing off the fire prevents that

For anyone thinking this looks a bit intimidating but really wants to try this, try using a Cornish game hen instead with the same process. I’ve fried a whole one of those and it was DELICIOUS. Highly recommend, but going to try this too!

they're birds of prey, they eat poultry too. It's like eating beef, pork, mutton, or venison in front of a human, just because they all come from mammals and we're mammals, doesn't make it horrific.

@@PeriwinkleFairywinkle that's a fair point, why do people talk about how the Rito eating poultry would be barbaric, but don't say anything about how the Zora are fishers? maybe the Rito have only recently gotten their more avian appearance (in Wind Waker they apparently looked like human's with beaks) where as the Zora have always looked like this.
I agree that the ocean is pretty much entirely "fish eat fish" (save for bugs, seals, penguins, and those other fringe cases). where as with birds most people would think worms, small berries, seeds. and in the case of birds of prey, I imagine most people would think small rodents or rabbits, maybe a lizard, but the idea of a bird eating another bird doesn't happen to often, and even more rarely in front of people.
Id love to see some meals from pokemon scarlet and violet. Since not only have you all have done pokemon foods befor for the channel like the puffs and curry, but the new game is a gold mine of delicious looking food of every variety, not just the custom player made sandwiches people know the game for.

I think a lot of people would be psyched to see you nake the three different meals from Chrono Trigger (plus it would get TONS of views and likes!) that is served in guardia castle (in 600 AD and i think in 1000 AD as well?) Would be pretty neat. It's not super clear what the exact foods are, so the creativity and interpretation would be another fun thing to work with :)
In case no one on the BWB team knows what I'm talking about, they're three meals served in the castle kitchen that replenish the team's health at three different levels. I wish i could remember the names of the meals.
A salad, a bowl of soup, and a rib roast of some kind in Chrono's colors, IIRC. The chef in 600 says he's invented them to celebrate your victory over the Mystics, and you get to order them from the Castle dining room 400 years later. ( _Chrono Trigger_ is one of my favorite games and I used to play it quite frequently before my copy was stolen after I moved to dorms in college and left my door unlocked one day...) Hyper Salad was one of the names, if I'm remembering it right.
