What do you mean on TWO minutes after the news release sir? Does that mean you can never trade that asset on that day from the time the news comes out? Because 3 minutes or even 8 hours after that news release will fall under the TWO MINUTES AFTER THE NEWS concept right?

Just got my 50k amount and chose the swing account. One less thing to worry about by not having to watch the economic calendar....trading during the news is my most profitable time.
Can you clarify this for me: Am I able to open a position but it will be a violation or will I not even be able to open a position at all (so they block me from opening a trade). I want to know, cause it might mean they protect me to not violate their rules, or is it my own responsibility to take or not to take any trades during that time.
Hi, thanks for the video. I traded Amazon shares during an event that was not on the FTMO calendar. They sent an email about it 1 minute after the event. It was crude oil inventories. Do you think I am safe or will I lose my account? I am funded.
Not to forget that the trades running in the restricted period you must removeTP/SL on them, once the restriction period is over you can put them back.

@@Bam.apollo im not sure it depends if it shows up red in your news catagory thing, if you are doing the challenge or verification it doesnt matter you can trade any news, but if you have an ftmo account you cant trade 2 min before or 2 min after those red news events, you can see on the website it tells you

News events are often high volatility, low liquidity events, and as the accounts are demo accounts, you often get much better fills then you would in reality on a live account. That is why FTMO restrict them. If your TP or SL is triggered in that time, FTMO consider it as a violation.
Hey, no they are not automatically blocked, so if you are trading a funded account you need to keep an eye on the calendar. Alternatively, you can just trade in the FTMO Swing account and you don't have to worry about any news restrictions
hi, bro can you clarify if i can trade gold(XAUUSD) with normal FTMO funded account during the news any news? does that rule 2 mins before till 2 mins after applies to XAUUSD. thanks in advance
@@catshorts2721 traded it and no issues. But I did not aim at trading during the news as gold can be very volatile. However if u do get caught it wont be a problem. One time I placed the trade before news and when news hit, my stop loss was not triggered at my level so I took much bigger loss but luckily it did not hit maximum daily loss limit. 😂 So I recommend avoid news trading at all cost.

You can leave your positions open through news. But yes, to be safe you should probably remove your SL & TP to avoid them being hit in the restricted window

When FTMO first launched the Swing account type, they allowed me to switch my accounts to Swing, but probably better to ask FTMO support to see if they are still allowing people to switch now
Yes they will switch for you after your next positive profit split day. You will have to agree to new terms and conditions and they will change it over for you. Just email support

If news is 1400hrs, 2mins before 1400hrs and 2mins after 1400hrs making a total of 4 mins of restricted period. After that you can continue trading.
What if you took the trade an hour before?

If you open a trade way before restricted events and your SL get hit during the news, has a rule been violated?
Yes, if a trade open and your SL gets hit 2 mins either side of news it is a violation.

For interest rate it only says usd pairs idk if us30 falls under that

Hey, no they are not automatically blocked, so if you are trading a funded account you need to keep an eye on the calendar. Alternatively, you can just trade in the FTMO Swing account and you don't have to worry about any news restrictions

If you are already in a position then you can hold it through all news events, so it wouldn't be a violation.
