I saw them on this tour with my mate Baz who swore he knew them all (he really was a massive fan). We went for a drink before the gig and who should walk in but Lee Brilleaux. He walks straight over to us and says to my mate “alright Baz want a pint?” A true rock n roll gentleman!
THIS band inspired so many others... From R&B to punk... Great rhythm, great vocals and great musicians.... Absolutely one of the best u will see/hear... EVER...
They played the Top Alex on a Sunday evening for free in I think 1973 ; essentially it was one of their first gigs. They were as brilliant then as they became! I used to see Lee drinking in our local pub called the Cricketers; always super cool!
With this lineup Dr Feelgood reached its apogee in many ways (personal opinion of course...!) a seriously mean roadside attraction. I'm in the front row of a couple of live TV recordings at this time, pissed out of my head and... ''giving it large,'' I think is the expression these days..?! God bless you Lee, God bless all you band members past and present, God bless Dr Feelgood. You have all given me immense pleasure throughout my life.
I grew up listening to punk (to this day still love it ),but when i heard these guys.best band from the 70s for pure entertainment, still got all their vinyl to this day. :)
Great band,,, is this their best live concert recorded? Good sound, great musicians,,, Steve Walwyn on the guitar,,, goddamn he sure rocked it up.,, just to name one of them. And good old Lee was Brilliant, what a power.
Can`t do my homework..have that by Sam Samudio..so surprised ..never heard Dr Feelgood sing it before! saw Lee in Swansea, Patti Pavilion 1990. Going to see, `Dr Feelgood` on 13/02/16...still rocking..them and me!
thank you very very very much for this upload. saw this last time on vhs tape recording from tv in the 90´s. rock´n roll, blues. that was real music. thanks again.
On arriving at Kentish Town to see a Feelgood gig around this time, myself and my nephew saw swarms and crowds of people everywhere around Town&Country Club and pubs close by. 'Lets go find somewhere quiet for a pint ' I said. We walked streets away for ages and came to an old out of the way place. Guess who on his own was propping up the bar drinking a half Guinniess? I was fortunate enough to meet him quiet and very polite a Magic experience! Pretty Interesting FOR JEAN X
Can remember supporting them at the baths hall in Scunthorpe bsck in 88 where me and Mr Morris was compairing his Premier Resonator drums to my prem projectors though I did end up buying the Ludwig black beauty snare he was using then and still is 2 years later in this show..
Extraordinaires solos d'harmonica, chants, ... Du très grand spectacle.
So, at 68 I'm going "What the Fuck!!!, was I on my electronic time waster!?" Fuck me! Missed listening to these guys for that long!? And me, a "self bragging" music know it all. Where have I been? Big rock.
Steve Walwyn is a great guitarist, arguably better than Wilko, but Wilko was the star of the band. I saw them at the student's bar of North London Poly (Ladbroke House) in the early seventies. They walked in carrying their own gear and set up and played before about 50 half drunk students. I think we had to pay about half a crown to stay in the bar, so we did. Wilko did all that manic stuff and just amazed everybody. I'd never heard of them. A fan ever since.
Try Charlie Croker and the Providers on you tube, some great songs like the croker, cab driver, bubble car, 991/2 and can't get enough are red hot n rockin
Great band and Lee was one of the greatest frontmen ever.
I saw them on this tour with my mate Baz who swore he knew them all (he really was a massive fan). We went for a drink before the gig and who should walk in but Lee Brilleaux. He walks straight over to us and says to my mate “alright Baz want a pint?” A true rock n roll gentleman!
The first number I heard them sing was Milk & Alcohol in 1978 I went straight out and bought it! Liked them ever since
THIS band inspired so many others... From R&B to punk... Great rhythm, great vocals and great musicians.... Absolutely one of the best u will see/hear... EVER...
THIS band inspired so many others......hurriganes (finland)

great band for eternity!😊👍
MR STEVE WALWYN ON THE GUITAR, GODDAMN.... GREAT GUITAR
lee is a madman but we love him,one of the best live acts ever.one of those rare bands who sounded better live than on record.
With this lineup Dr Feelgood reached its apogee in many ways (personal opinion of course...!) a seriously mean roadside attraction. Great set - many thanks for sharing.

I didn't know that Ilyn Payne was such a great guitarist.
This concert was broadcasted the same evening as the concert of the Wall in Berlin. Hard to chose which one to record....
Rock and roll!!!

Extraordinaires solos d'harmonica, chants, ... Du très grand spectacle.

roxette sounds a bit like the Joe 90 theme music
I love Lee but when you only have one original member in the band, it ain’t Dr. Feelgood.
