Posters on our walls, Hell I owned & drove the best of these 80's cars when new when I was in my 20's! My first brand new car was a 1985 Dodge Shelby Charger Turbo, the next year a loaded manual '86 Daytona Turbo-Z while my dad drove a new Chrysler Conquest TSI & Mazda RX7. I had a Black '89 IROC Camaro along with a Black '91 Trans Am GTA & a Black '85 C-4 Vette just to name a few, the real world Radwood while living & working in LA with FM radio playing all the best tunes then & no damn cel phones!
6:49 since I am 34yrs old I am so nostalgic for 90's JDM interiors. No matter the brand they all seemed to make the most clean and sexy black interior. Even this a-to-b economy car has the same sexy smooth dash you'd find in a r33 skyline or honda accord of the same era. love it
Props to Tyson Hugie for allowing Acura the use of the SLX. Check out his UA-cam for behind the scenes of an up coming Acura commercial featuring the SLX.
The owner of that Koenig C62 @oysterrei, has some other seriously awesome cars in addition.. A Lanca Delta Evo, a 205 GTI, 964 911 Clubsport, 911 S2, Carrera RS, 356 Speedster, etc..all of which actually are driven hard, like they were intended to be used.
Watching an American treating a Swift like that is unbelievable. I am from Hungary, and it made here for 15 years. They are still everywhere, just a good car!
Hey Larry, it's my generation too. I grew up with these cars. My dream car was probably, I have a few. Toyota Supra Turbo, Ford Mustang 5.0, Chevy Camaro Iroc-Z, Mitsubishi Stallion, CR-X, Nissan 300ZX Twinturbo. I ended up owning a 1988 Ford Mustang 5.0 (with trunk). Keep up the good work! don't work too hard though make sure you get some rest and don't burn out!
In 2000 I bought a 94 Geo Metro with only 19000 miles for $2995. It was in a Honda lot. Drove it two years then sold it. Wish I still had it for Cars and Coffee and Radwood!
Larry - I enjoy your videos very much. In addition to the great photos, some excellent history on the various cars in your photos. The lead car in the three red cars is a Porsche 928. I have a red '85. Thanks for your videos!Rich R.
3:23 Talking to Matt Farah, and shake hands with Chris Jacobs. The Chris Jacobs from Overhaulin', Barrett-Jackson, Entertainment Tonight (ET), and Long Lost Family. Best friends with Chip Foose. Guess Larry has never watched Overhaulin'. Happy Birthday Chris Jacobs, it was his 50th B.D. yesterday, Jan 30th.
I attended the first Radwood in Brisbane, CA. Didn’t bring a period car. But was fun walking around with a pager 📟, Motorola International 3200, Local Motion cap 🧢 and a copy of Sport Compact Car Magazine. So cool that this gain instant popularity
Both of my cousins learned to drive in a Swift (w/the 3cyl) and loved it. They had innumerable stories about rallying it on the dirt and mountain roads outside of Denver. Oh, and it was totaled 3 times, ultimately paying for itself & last I heard, it was still on the road.
It's crazy Rogans podcast has gotten so big people get congratulated for going on it. I remember when Redban was the engineer and they did it in his apartment.
Probably more polite falseness for the camera. I watched all the JRE's up until the last few years since only occasionally having good guests and reichle himself on. Things must change, I understand.
1991 red crx si vtec jdm spec with the glass roof and back seat thingy. Would be such a cool lil whip. My mom had a 1991 crx but it was stolen and crashed into an almond tree when I was 4.
CRX AND 928, are doing the framing there. (I know because they are both mine) nice to see them on the thumbnail! @radreport on Instagram for much more action.
the swift was available with multiple different manufacturer and model names on em... plus cheap cuz no one cares about em except enthusiasts who know what theyre looking at. rare now since theyve all been mass produced and driven until junked. sure its no gtr or whatever but swift needs more appreciation and saving for the ones that are left, its practical and there should be more of them out there. my dad had a chevy sprint (same exact car with a different name on it) when i was a kid and it was fun to ride in cuz that light little car was surprisingly quick, at least it felt that way when the 3cyl turbo with basically 60+ mpg kicked in. had clutch problems more than normal i think (probably a design flaw, idk) but the quirk was part of the fun and good times when we all packed in it to zip around, was bummed when he sold it years ago to someone who ended up smashing into something with it when all i knew about it back then was that it was an actual driving experience compared to shit you can buy today with how more involved and engaged you had to be when in it. sadly this was all before i was old enough to drive it for myself and ive looked for another since once before and noticed how hard they were to find. most have been beaten into the ground as an expendable commuting car by now rather than one worth saving and im sure theres many other throwbacks most forgot about that fit in the same majority unappreciated category since its not some performance legend rather than an econobox
i saw deloreans in this video, one of the cars i would want to own the most, not just because of back to the future, but because its so different, and thats why i like it, a lot
At RADwood Philly in 2018 I parked my ratty 1981 Honda CM400E between to two Ferrari Mondials and a VW Rabbit truck that had another Honda bike in it. Seriously awesome show. Can't wait to bring my new (to me) 1982 CM450C and my 57k mile 1997 Mazda 626 to the next RADwood near me!
That 626 is an amazing car. We loved ours in the 90s. It should have a button that says "swing" and makes the a/c vents sweep left and right. We loved that feature.
Hey Larry, love this channel as someone that follows cars and photography equally. Was wondering if you have shot any unique Saab's (or Volvo's if not) in your career? I'm a Saab fan and would love to see some of your work around one. Just a car company that was very unique and had there own method to cars because of coming from a jet company originally and a mix of luxury and sports cars. I will admit that they have there fair share of problems, but i definitely a historic company that was sad to loose.
Dammit I really want there to be a redwood around where I live at!! I’m from White Plains New York so hopefully they’re at least some around the New York area soon!
Seeing that Swift makes me wish I’d looked after my old ‘87 Chevy Sprint Turbo. It was a good looking car when it was clean and new, and would be much cooler today than it was when it died 20 years ago. It was a cheap piece of crap of course, would be nearly impossible to maintain even if I hadn’t driven it like it was cheap. The glovebox would fall open if you looked at it too hard, and I’m sure it would’ve developed a myriad of other issues by now. I still kinda miss it though.
That'd amazing! One of my friends actually has a Cinquecento with about 40000kms, insanely clean, he's the second owner. Not sure what year, but should be early 90s as well. Love those cars!
@@MarkTheVanMan it was my grandpa's car, and I'm the second owner now :) It's really nice, no rust on the body, only a small spot on the rearmost muffler. Really fun little car :)

2:14 I think that was a CRX and a 928. Great work, Larry. U always get amazing shots.
100% 928
Acura SLX is an Isuzu Trooper. They also did the Isuzu Rodeo as a Honda Passport.
And it's also called a holden jackaroo
Or the the Isuzu bighorn
Props to Tyson Hugie for allowing Acura the use of the SLX. Check out his UA-cam for behind the scenes of an up coming Acura commercial featuring the SLX.
I was just about to say, and you spoke exactly what I wanted to say... How wild is that? Hahaha
That's what I thought, when he showed them I was like, "Uhhh, those are Troopers, they aren't that great"
My dream is to have a sick radwood-worthy car and cruise around listening to synthwave and being nostalgic for a time period I never experienced.

Dude geeked out massively over the passing red cars. So would I to be fair. Great looking show. Reminds me of the RR show in the uk.

That zinno red e30 in the beginning is mine! Thanks for an epic shot!
Wow, kicking off with a GTP, forerunner to the Raptor. Now that's insanely 80's
i think the r5 turbo right behind the swift is what "really stands out"

Theres an old pontiac firefly rotting away at the end of my street.. that swift reminded me of it lol
I loved the photos!
I really liked the Swift (forget the nomenclature) with that little 100 HP 16 valve four. Drove one new but chose an FX16 GTS instead.....
Was that Chris Jacobs that Farrah was talking to? Looked like him standing on the left of the two guys Farrah was talking with when Larry walked up.

Great to see a Mitsubishi Galant Lambda in that condition.

Great collection of cars.

Although I'm surprised that there was not a Cizeta-MoroderV16T there (or if there was, that you didn't focus on it).
I so want to bring my AW11 to one of these. Even though it has rust and needs restoration. I’d bring it restored or not
