Great music for me AND my daddy he Is 88 years old
This music takes me back to the days in Chicago after I had graduated high school. A friend at the time introduced me to all of this music via Paul Whitman via the Dick Lawrence Review. I have loved this type of music ever since. Please keep this up. It is a treasure.
The mere existence of these 78 RPM goes beyond any cometary (including mine), not only is the material treasure that it means but the auditory treasure is much greater, testimony of a time already gone long ago and recovered through modern conservation and diffusion as is this (the UA-cam) for example and of course give thanks to all those who own them and who humbly provide them, cutting undeservedly from the garden of the most beautiful flowers that they give us.
Thank you
Then it is even more important to preserve this irreplaceable treasure, and not destroy them by playing them back with heavy steel needles, as too many seems to do, even to this day!
Having surgery tomorrow morning and your recording's are a blessing the night before. Words will not begin to express my appreciation. Thanks!
Walter, ...all good wishes to you for a fast recovery. And thank you for all the kind comments. Best regards, ....Roger
Few knew that Fred was a talented vocalist back in the day.they only remember him from his tv show my three sons.
Thanks so much. Indeed the first hundred years have proven to be quite an ordeal.
Delightful

Another fantastic VICTOR "scroll" 78 rpm, from the BEST; USA !!
Beautiful.
Thanks.
Super excellent with very good interesting photo
THE BEST!!!!!
Nice suprise to find my ideal as the second recording, as it is one of my favorite songs, wonderfully remastered as always... My compliments!
Wonderful recordings done beautifully as usual. Both tunes are from the delightful Maurice Chevalier film "The Playboy Of Paris". In the film the song "My Ideal" was just a throw away, it wasn't so much sang as talked through, a rather missed opportunity. I was glad to hear this version,..great melody.
Another hot jam! He's was getting a little friendly with that mic!
@bostonblakie, Yes, the B side is "My Ideal" with vocal by Fran Frey who also plays that sweet alto sax.
lindas musicas
thanks.
I seem to recall seeing an NBC publicity shot with Fran and "Hotcha" Gardner resting their chins on a 4A - a pretty odd composition but it showed them both in profile, as "book ends."
@RatPfink66, I've never seen that shot -- but since my 4A measures only six inches square, I'd say Fran and Hotcha got to know each other more than they wanted.
Super excellent with good photo
ssthlanks again for this treat.
Very good
Very nice for Friday the l3th mmm
True Hi-Fi from 1930! How does this come about? What do you mean by "Hi Def 78RPM".Were there really such records?
What technique was used? Why were not all 78:s "Hi Def"? A question of cost?
thlanks again
Recorded on September 16, 1930.
They had no limiter, so the vocal will easily put down by the music
And how!!
Nice one. Was this both sides of the same record?
is there any lyrics for this?
Hubba Hubba!
It's not possible! What is this, Wisconsin? Minnesota? Michigan? (I mean Upper Michigan.) It could be Illinois, but I don't know.
And just by the way, if you give me a female vocalist, don't think I won't sing to her!
Brain needed again: Thanks.
Great orchestra, poor vocalist.
He kinda sounds like Larry David
Delightful
