- We drive to Areni on a snowy winter's day in January. The conditions are a little treacherous, but the scenery is spectacular.
We commence our journey from our home near the Kievyan Bridge in Yerevan, through Charbakh district, then onto the main highway to Iran. Our first port of call is Areni Lodge: arenilodge.com where we call in to see our friends, Len and Armine. From there we drive to the picturesque village of Aghavnadzor to pick up our friend. This village is simply amazing and so surprising.
This video is all about the journey, not the destination. However, in our next video we will show you the completed renovation project on the first of three houses (where the refugee family of 8 is currently living).
Sunset caught on your camera does look amazing...
@0ksana_ ... yes, it was a beautiful scene and completely unexpected!
Beatiful snowy scenery .
Truly beautiful winter scenes! A bit of a daredevil drive through the slush though! Kudos!😂
@creativ3vision...Thanks! I'm used to the slush now...it helps when you've been trained to drive on a skid pan in the police😃
Thank you for the winter glimpse of God's Country. They say that God's hand touches the most humble of places, and that the path to God is not an easy one. We certainly see that in his people and his land of Armenia. Good on Len for delivering the Vegemite, I can imagine Christmas for Aussie Ex-Pat might be a bit brighter with a case of Vegemite.
@jackoneil3933...thanks for your lovely comment, Jack. Yes, Armenian winters are made a little more tolerable with Vegemite☺️
@@ArmenianLifewithMitch Thank you for all the lovely videos and inspiration... The talk of Vegemite brought back memories Vegemite & Cheese Toasties, and got me wondering how a bit of Vegemite might go with Armenian, bread, cheese and a glass of wine?
@@jackoneil3933 ...Armenian bread, cheese and a glass of wine...perfect together👌
Thanks for great content 👏👏👏
@enfrentecomigo...thank you so much, that's nice to hear🙏
Happy new year dear friends, thank you for the great video! Some Armenians drive the same way in Glendale California as well and I hated.
@MomoMomoyan...yes, I know...it must be hereditary then!🙄 Seriously, there's absolutely no excuse for anyone to drive in such dangerous ways. People who do this have no regard for other people and even their own family. I guess one of the ways to prevent this is through driver education...beginning in school...then harsher fines and loss of license for repeat offenders.
I miss Armenia so much ❤
It’s so so so so beautiful and divinely magical ❤❤
Her English is so different, very strong accent, hard to understand. Where is she from ?
@GlowingInTheDark377 ...I presume you mean Mrs Mitch! She's from Armenia, but lived in Australia for about 15 years; so, that would confuse a lot of people (the Aussie accent I mean)!
Yes, there are many people using their phone while driving this is a bad habit.
@hagopboghossian6841...sad but true...I was taught in the police force; 100% concentration must be on the road when you're driving.
Driving on icy rods is unsafe and life-threatening. I'm sure you are aware that if anything happens in these road conditions, there is no reliable emergency help. God bless.
@adobo6905...yes,I know all about the dangers, but I was trained well in the police force. We didn't just go for a drive, we went to help Artsakh families. Thank you for your comment🙏
