This is a DIY hair extension video, so is slightly different to how I usually install on clients. I am qualified, and have been for 2 years. Your lines must be straight, and you must use the correct equipment. The only difference to how I install on myself and clients, is that with myself, I am not as precise as I am with clients with the amount of hair, as it is incredibly difficult to use a comb to get exactly the same amount of hair for each extension.
You must always make sure that if you want hair extensions, you should go to a qualified extension stylist, unless you feel as though you can install and take of them yourself. Please note, that if you install your own extensions, it is at your own risk.

Extremely insightful and exactly the tutorial I was looking for thank you!!!!!
Thank you! I’m so happy it helped you out 😊
Actual explanation starts at at 06:39 if anyone is also wondering
Raluca Tarcea thanks! I just wanted to explain the extensions in case someone hasn’t installed these before 😊
This tutorial was so much more helpful than any other I've been watching for the last hour.
you explain the steps very well, and show the steps very well.
and not only did you show how to do micro hair extensions, but also how to remove them.
thank you.
Angela Andra hi Angela, thank you so much! And I'm so happy that you found this video helpful! 😊
I'm in love with your hair color, it looks so natural and beautiful 💕
Thank you so much! :)
+Chloe Luckin how can I book you?,I have a weave wouldn't mind micro rings I don't have Facebook but I'm on Instagram as sparklestacey80 if you could DM x
Thank you for this amazing tutorial! And THANK YOU for answering everyone's questions! That answered all my questions hahaha.
Sally Christine Fryer thanks for watching! I’m so happy you found the video helpful! 😊
Omg thanks for the video I’ve been trying to find videos on how todo this and this is the only one I can find giving me the info I need!
Thank you! I’m so happy it helped you out 😊
New subbie! I have always used clip in extensions. Once I paid $300 for the rubberband technique but they were so uncomfortable. This I am willing to try. I like how simple it was! Thanks for sharing!
Regina Crystal Cordoba Hi Regina, thank you for subscribing! I love the micro rings! They're so much easier to put in and take out, and I've never had a problem with them! 😊
U make it look so easy i taken mine out easierly but im gunna try putting them in 4 my birthday again tbank for thr vid very helpful x
Good luck! 😊
I only make it look easy because I’ve been doing extensions for about 7 years so I’ve had ALOT of practice 😊
You look so pretty .
You did a great job
Sunflowers2925 thank you so much! 😘
Thank you for this tutorial.. I really want to know on how to install micro ring hair extension and your video really helps a lot. I really have thin hair and I want my hair to look beautiful on my older brother’s wedding. May I know how many hair strands did you put on your hair?
I’m so happy the video helped you out 🥰
I used almost 6 packs of extensions, so almost 180 extensions and around 88g-90g
These extensions will be the great for you as they have the best thickness for you and they won’t be too heavy. Just make sure they’re installed correctly and taken care of correctly 😊
And I’m sure you’ll look beautiful even without extensions for the wedding 😊
@@ChloeLuckin thank you very much 🥰
What type of extensions would be best for really thin hair??
Liv Gallagher I definitely recommend the micro rings (the ones which I used in this video because they're super thin and almost undetectable!) and the glue in extensions are great too because you can't usually notice the bonds on those.
Always double check by doing a strand test to see if your hair can handle extensions. Apply a couple of extensions in the lower section of your hair and keep them in for around a week. Try washing your hair with them in as well to see if they irritate. With extensions, when they are wet, they get heavier and can put more pressure on the hair 😊
Beautiful very nice
Will this method work if your hair is dyed and requires root maintenance and also if your hair is heavily layered at it's pre-extension length and you would like to maintain longer layers?
Hi Nina,
I'm not sure about the heavy layers, because I have light layers to make sure they all blend. Maybe if you go to the hairdressers and ask from them to make the layers more soft, it would work better.
And you can definitely use these extensions if you dye your hair! I'd been dying my hair for about 5 years (I haven't touched dye since October last year...go me 😉) and I was always ok to dye my roots with micro rings and glue ins in 😊
I WANT EXACTLY THAT COLOR
CharLotte Mund thank you so much! The colour I used is from Sally's and it's Ion Permanent Creme Colour in 8.34 light golden copper blonde 😊
you did a great job. i am gonna do my own. How long did it take you? Also when it comes to pushing up do you maintain that yourself? Lastly, fav products? Thanks !!
J Vincent thank you! It took me 8 hours on and off during the day - I was having breaks by going out with family so that's why it took so long. Usually it takes between 3-4 hours to do these on my own, and quicker on others.
I do my own everything - installation, removal, maintenance. 😊
Macadamia deep repair masque is perfect for a deep conditioner, as well as Aussie 3 minute miracle. Use oil every morning on your hair and extensions - Garnier coconut hair oil is my favourite. And make sure that you use a shampoo which free of sulphates. Costco's Kirkland shampoo is my favourite and you get so much for the price too! Also, there's a Moroccan oil shampoo they do which is about £8 which is really good too!
I have a full video about how to care for hair extensions which I did about 2 years ago 😊
I'm looking to do my own hair extensions but now sure what to use to see the back of my head, did you use a mirror or the camera behind you and project it onto a laptop?
In the video I used my camera for the back so I could see it on my laptop, it usually I’ll have a mirror at the front and a mirror at the back to see how to do it 😊
Hi, thank you for this video it's very helpful. What brand of hair would you recommend for wavy hair? And also how close to the scalp do you apply these and how tight do you close the rings? Any tips for color matching when ordering online?
Noa Hart Thank you Noa! 😊 I haven’t tested any brands with wavy hair, as my own hair is relatively straight naturally. I’ve heard that sjk hair extensions in wavy is supposed to be really good though. I’ve used their straight extensions a few years ago and i really enjoyed them and they lasted about 4 months. Plus, they’re not super expensive! The only thing is, they only come in 1g strands, which isn’t the best if you have thin hair. Usually, you can get a good colour match from most brands. I use Cliphair at the moment, and I really like them. They have a colour match service on their website, as Yourhairshop (the brand I’m wearing on this video). I can usually guess my hair colour straight away, (I usually go for the colour 30 as it’s pretty much the only ginger shade anywhere does) as they don’t really do ginger hair in most places, which is why I recommend those 3 brands because they do ginger hair that doesn’t look fake 😊
With the application, I recommend putting them around half and inch down from your scalp. Then it doesn’t put pressure on your hair and scalp, and they can move easier 😊
Do you have any advice for someone trying to apply them on the back of their head by themselves? Or if you have any experience with shorter hair applications?
Hi Casey,
When you apply them to the back of your head, make sure that you either have a mirror or like I had a camera being you. Then you can see in the mirror in front of you when your doing the extensions. It worked out great for me having the camera zoomed in and plugged in my laptop, as I was able to see exactly where I was putting in the extensions.
When I first started installing my own extension, I had pretty short hair and it was still way to do it, but you just have to make sure that you don’t have a blunt hair cut otherwise it won’t blend 😊
Thank you so much for the fast reply!!!
No problem! 😊
What do you call these thin tube beads you're using ? I can only seem to find the regular Mirco beads... Thanks!
They’re called micro tubes 😊 I’ve been getting mine from eBay recently as they’re so much more affordable!
Hello Chloe, you are such a great job.
I did itip hair extension by my self but after 1 month my hair got matted/tangled from the roots and i feel its in bad condition . Now how can i fix it . Please please help me with this problem .
Thanks , will eagerly wait for your reply.
Hi,
Thank you for watching my video!
The way to prevent matting is to make sure that the extensions are sectioned off correctly before applying, and to every night or every other night, to go through and pull gently each extension away from the next one at the root. This should help you out 😊
Of it doesn’t work, you may have the remove and reinstall them and start that process from the beginning after combing out the tangles 😊
@@ChloeLuckin Thank you such dear for answering it. Its very helpful . I.think i have to reinstall again . I.will give you an update.
No problem! Let me know how it goes 😊
Hi, I’m doing a hair extension course soon and I’d love to do these on myself but how do you cut them and blend them in on yourself?
Becca Amanda hi Becca, these are the only extensions where I don’t need to cut and blend them. Because they’re thinner extensions, they basically blend with my own hair. Sometimes I’ll cut the layers on the top from my own hair, but I never cut these extensions 😊
Your hair looks great. I do have one question. When installing, is all of your own hair used in the extensions or do you leave some of your hair out at regular points?
Kerry Taff hi Kerry, thank you! 😊 when installing, you need to leave a line of hair in between each row of extensions. This just makes sure that if you're wearing you hair up, you can't see the extensions 😊
Chloe Luckin thank you. Just another question, what thickness are the extensions you have? I have really fine hair and I'm looking to increase volume but I don't want them to be too heavy. What would you recommend? I think I'm going to go for nano bead extensions.
Kerry Taff hi Kerry, sorry for the super late reply!
My extensions at 0.5g which is perfect for normal/thin hair. I will NEVER go back to using 1g strands, because I don't even feel these in my hair!
Out of nano ring and micro rings, I'd definitely go for micro rings, because I feel like the nano rings put too much pressure on the hair, especially if you have thin hair! 😊

Hi there I'm looking in to doing a hair extensions course, was wondering what company you used for your course? Thanks Nicole xxx
Nicole Carroll hi Nicole, I went with Oakley Academy. They're so good and helpful! 😊 xx
Chloe Luckin ideal I'll have a look at there website. Thanks again Chloe ☺️
No problem! :)
I have very thin hair how much space in between rows would you recommend and how far apart should each bead be? Also should different lengths of extensions be used on the sides as opposed to the back re instant layers? Thanks! 😊
Hi Brenda, thanks for watching 😊
If you have thin hair, it’s best to do a brick layer pattern so that all gaps are covered with extensions, so you don’t end up having a chunk where there are none there. It’s always best to leave a little hair between rows so the hair can cover the extensions, however I know that with thin hair some people like to pop them straight above to put enough hair in. If you have thin hair, I’d recommend using 0.5G extensions and make sure that you put the same amount of your own hair in the bead as the amount of hair in the extension - this will cause less tension. Put each extension directly next to eachother so you use all of the hair in the row otherwise you’ll have gaps. You can use different lengths of extensions, but I’ve always used the same length all the way around. If you want them to blend a little better, you can ask your hair dresser to cut some layers into them 😊
If there’s anything I’ve missed or any other questions, just let me know 😊
What's the difference between the normal beads and the silicone lined ones? Xx
Silicone ones are better for your hair! The silicone on the inside protects your hair from snapping as well as holding the extensions into place and stops any slipping. The ones without the silicone can easily fall out, and I had a bad experience with nano rings without the lining where it snapped my hair off at the roots on a lot of them! Definitely get the silicone ones to save your hair and for them to last longer 😊
Amazing video, can you recommend any uk sites to buy hair from please
Thank you! The only place really they I’ve purchased hair from the uk recently is clip hair. They’re good but they’re not super long lasting - but they’re pretty affordable for extensions 😊
I haven’t tried SJK Hair for years but I used to get them. And expensive Bellami and beauty works are supposed to be really good 😊
hi i had the nano rings done last week she put them randomly and not following any line, and they are detectable. it cost me 100. but im worried about going back to ask for them to be taken out, in case she damages my hair. any suggestions please
Hi Elizabeth, do you know if she used silicone liner nano rings at all? And do you know how many were fitted, and your hair type? Also, if you’re worried about her damaging your hair, I’d recommend going to someone else. It sounds like she’s not professional in extensions from the way you described how she put them in and the cost as well. Make sure to go to someone you can trust, and ask them to move the visible ones and you should be all good 😊
the comb you're talking about is called ''rat's tail'' comb :)
Or a pin tail comb 😊
My mind went blank when filming this video and I couldn’t remember it for the life of me 😂
Hi Chloe, I have been researching which extensions to try for a few months now and have finally decided on micro rings but with the mini tubes as my hair is fine. I am looking into installing them myself or at least maintaining them to save money but cannot find anyone anywhere advising how many rows of extensions are needed at the back of the head. Can u advise how many rows you typically need? I have quite a small head and thin hair so think I will need approx 100 strands. Thanks for your time. Nat x
Natalie De Biase Hi Nat, thanks for watching my video!
There's no specific amount of rows for extensions, as it all depends on the size of you head and how much hair you have. I bought 7 packs of extensions (210 strands - 105g) but only used just over 5 packs (150 strands - 75g).
I'd say buying 100g would be a safe bet, as you never know how many you're going to use. At least if you have too many, you can save them for next time or for maintenance 😊
Chloe Luckin thanks for the reply I appreciate it! I have become a little obsessed with how much effort I am putting into it all to be honest, I'm kind of determined to be able to do this for myself. That answer makes sense I guess, I will just see how much I can fit at the back but I've seen different methods of applying the rows too, such as either a brickwork style or bonds next to each other and also how much gap between rows? Thanks
And how many rows did u fit?
Natalie De Biase Hi Natalie, no problem! I've just counted the rows in my head at the moment, and at the back, I have 7 rows of extensions.
As you have thinner hair, doing the brickwork method is the best - it's what I use for my extensions- and helps them to look natural in the hair, and you won't need to use as many.
I'd say to leave enough hair in between rows where they just cover the row underneath. I usually leave a few millimetres between rows 😊
Chloe Luckin thanks for all your advice ☺
Would you say these extensions are more or less damaging than tape ins?
Hi Morgan,
These extensions are much less damaging than tape ins.
When I had tape ins, they ruined my hair, and I've never had any problems with Micro Rings.
As long as they're installed properly, with the same amount of your own hair as the hair extension, you should have no problems. :)
I'm not sure if I missed it and if I did my apologies. But, how long did the process take in it's entirety?
Kika Vi Lana the process took about 8 hours only because I was doing it on and off (going out and seeing my family). It usually takes around 3-3.5 hours to do my whole head 😊
Chloe Luckin thank you so much 🙂
Your hair color ❣️❤️🔥 what’s the name for it??
Thank you so much!
It was an ION permanent colour but I can’t remember the specific colour but I think it was light golden copper blonde. It’s super close to my natural hair colour 😊
Thank you for the video. Curious what are you using as a back mirror?
Thanks for watching! 😊
I didn’t have another mirror for the back of my head in the video and used my viewfinder on my laptop for it. Usually, I’ll have one mirror in front of me, and another on a chair behind me 😊
I noticed you put them right to the roots I've always left a bit of a gap do you find that's better? Thanks x
Sophie Goode hi Sophie, it was very hard when doing the back of my hair to leave a longer gap (you only need to leave around 1-1.5 cm gap from the roots). So you don't need to leave a super long gap 😊
When I finished the video, I went back in to the back of my head and checked they all had a long enough gap. If they didn't, I just popped them down a little. I explain in the video how much of a gap you need to leave. If you push them up too high, it can start to irritate 😊
Is it hurts when youre sleeping and lying down on your pillow ?
It does hurt for the first day or 2, but then you get used to them and they don’t bother you after. If it feels bad, you can take some paracetamol and it should help. Because I’m so used to them, when I do maintenance on them, it only hurts for the first night 😊
how many extensions did you use? Just currious....Nice video thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I think I used about 5.5-6 packs so about 165-180 strands 😊
Hello, I'm in the U.S. and looking to buy micro ring hair extensions. Do you know any other website that sells human hair that weighs more than .5 g? I'd prefer .8g to 1g for my thicker hair. I have used clip ins for over 5 yrs and used to buy from Luxury for Princess in Netherlands, but they don't sell micro ring. :(
Kelly Gonzalez hi Kelly, I only used extensions from this website now, but I used to buy from a website called SJKhairextensions.com and I used to really like them! They sell 1g and 2 extensions. The only problem with the shades, is that they don’t really have any for ginger hair -they look like faded dyed red hair 😁
How many rows did you do for a full head?
Denise Villanueva I think it was around 5-6, but I’m not too sure. It’s been a while since I’ve done micro rings! 😊
Everyone’s head is different, so you might be able to do more rows or less than me 😊
Can you wear the for like 7-8 months and not take them off?
devils cat you can wear them for that long, but I recommend that you take a break after about 4-5 months to make sure that you don’t damage your hair 😊
I left mine in for 8 months because I was just pretty lazy! 🙈
Chloe Luckin thank you for answering by the way you’re so pretty and your hair colour is so cutee 💕💕💕
devils cat thank you so much lovely! 😘
So are the extensions synthetic? And if they not can i use synthetic hair to do the i tips ?
Nope. They’re 100% remy human hair 😊
You can buy synthetic i tips, but there are some places which are as cheap to buy real hair. I think Cliphair do a bunch for about £50 for long human hair. 😊
I’m tempted to buy these and do them myself as 3/4 of my hair has snapped short (long story) the bottom section though is blue and still has some length to it. Would I need 1g extensions and a lot to cover my head. I don’t need volume just length
Multikay33 Hi, it depends on how thick your hair is. My hair is normal thickness (not too thin or thick) and I was completely fine with the 0.5g.
Make sure that your hair can handle thicker extensions if you choose to go for those. I would recommend thicker ones if you have much shorter hair, but have been blown away with the quality of these 😊
Chloe Luckin thankyou for your advice, if I get the thinner ones to be safe, if i need to use more I’ll just use more
Multikay33 no problem! If you choose the thinner extensions, I recommend getting ones that aren't super long, because some times they can look a little obvious you're wearing extensions. And good luck! 😊
Chloe Luckin thankyou so much :)
👍👍..
Can you dye these extensions?
Abigail Hilliard of course you can! They’re real human hair, so I’d suggest dying darker than lighter 😌
How do you setup your camera to see the back of your head like that? 🤔
It looks hard but it was actually quite easy. I plugged my camera into my laptop so I could see what the camera was pointing at, then installed by looking into the laptop 😊
@@ChloeLuckin thanks for the reply! Genius! I wonder if I can do that with my phone camera.
fizzgigger you might be able to! You can charge up you phone from a laptop so you might be able to do it 😊
I have a question I used hair extensions since 5 years ago but I've never used the micro ring so
how long is gonna during me this?
and when the start to growing up won't need the retouching ?
Mo Vidharra hi Mo, I'm a little unsure of your questions, so I'll answer them as best I can 😊
These extensions can stay in for 3-9 months (with a break every 4-6 months), and they usually take me around 3-4 hours to complete my whole head. The great thing is they don't use heat, so they're much quicker than using glue in extensions!
I move mine up every 3 weeks, but it all depends if I get an extension that's slipped and is pretty far down. If I have any of these, I just push them up and it's no trouble.
When you install them, you want to make sure here at least 1cm away from your scalp 😊
Thanks for the very good video. 🐛.
Can they be reused a few times?
Looks super👍.
Thank you! And yes, they can be reused as many times as you’d like - just use new beads each time 😊
@@ChloeLuckin oh! Really! That makes sense😂👍. I'm just getting into making hair extensions, a daily part of my regime.
I'm older now, hair is thinning, barely grows.
It's worth the investment!.
Thank you for a great video. 👍😙
@@janeferraz413 thank you so much 🥰 I’ve never made my own extensions, and that sounds amazing! Let me know how it goes 😊
Excellent work !
Thank you 😊
For natural curly hair that’s gonna be straightened is it best to wash, flat iron real hair first then add the itips and style ? Or if you have curly itips should it be the other way around
Hi JadoreMil,
If you Hair is textured, get hair which is the tame texture as your own. My mum Natural has very curly hair, and when she straightens, you can see the difference between my hair (which is the same as the Extensions) and her hair. When you put them in, I recommend straightening your own hair, as it’s a much better style to put them in with as it’s smooth. 😊
There are itips which are available in different types of hair so check them out!
Chloe Luckin thank you
When you are brushing you hair does it get caught in your brush the little bead like can you feel it
cool dude hi, it doesn't get caught at all when I brush my hair. You need to use a tangle teezer or a dupe for the tangle teezer, which won't get caught in the beads, and will untangle your hair without pulling 😊
Thank you so much for your tutorial!!
No problem! I’m happy you enjoyed it 😊
Hi, how di you wash your hair with these in please?
It’s really easy to wash your hair with them in. Just make sure you don’t put conditioner on the roots, and you need to use sulfate free shampoo. Just know that you can’t scrub your roots but you can saturate them pretty well with the shampoo. And only wash your hair twice a week 😊
@@ChloeLuckin thank you!
Quiet Belle no problem 😌
If you have any other questions, let me know!
So I would like to buy these and install them myself however I am curious about one thing. I have naturally curly hair. I have medium length hair and I am currently trying to grow my hair out so I am avoiding heat products and harmful chemicals but these extensions don't require any harsh glues which is great. My question is can I scrunch these and use mousse to make them wavy after a shower to match my curly hair? or will they stay straight?
gabrielle wilson Hi Gabrielle, you can certainly scrunch these with mousse! Last year, I used to blow dry my hair with sea salt spray and scrunch them and it worked great!
The won't go straight if you scrunch them, but do bare in mind that it's best to get extensions which are wavy if you want them to naturally wave 😊
thx! how do we wash and how often please?
Just wash like normal, but make sure your shampoo is sulphate free, and don’t put conditioner on your roots or the bonds. I wash my hair twice a week 😊
@@ChloeLuckin thanks Chloe - i must say you look very beautiful x
Thank you so much! You’re so sweet 😘
I'm wondering about how many clipping do you need?
Do you mean micro rings? 😊
Chloe I have thin hair & I want to try the micro rings. Do you think 2 bundles of hair will be enough? Isn't it the thinner the hair, the less bundles you need? Also how did you measure your extensions out (the .5 grams)? And u recommend the .5 grams over the 1 gram right? And how many rows do you recommend & how many extensions per row? Thanks.
- Tammy in Phoenix, Arizona. : )
TTORREZ1 Hi Tammy, if you have thin hair, I definitely recommend getting between 75-100g of hair atleast. This is because if you don’t have enough extensions, it will look very fake and like extensions. You need to make sure you have a nice bulk of hair so it meshes well with your natural hair. 😊
To find the weight of each extension, it will say on the website that you buy them from exactly how many grams or ounces are in each strand. And with the amount of extensions in each row, it all depends on the size of your head. The more space you have, the more extensions you can fit in a row. Just make sure that you have a thumb width between the hairline and the extension on the edge. 😊
Thank you Chloe !! : )
Hey Chloe I have some more questions. How often do you recommend re-doing (or re-tightening) the micro ring extensions? And can you re-use the same micro rings when u go to re-do them, or will the micro rings be too weak from getting unclamped & I should just use new ones instead?
TTORREZ1 Hi Tammy, with tightening, I would say around every 4-6 weeks you should be moving up the Extensions, however if I have one that’s too low, I’ll just go in and move it up 😊
When you redo your extensions, I recommend purchasing new beads and the silicone starts to break down after a few months. I usually leave my micro rings in for around 5-6 months at a time (even though you’re only meant to keep them in for up to 3-4 months at a time 🙈)
Ok thanks !! : )
What are you using to see the back of your head? I’m doing mine sat
I had my camera facing the back of my head and the viewfinder was on my laptop so I could see the back. I used to do it where I had a mirror in front of me and a mirror behind, which works so well too 😊
Good luck with doing yours on Saturday! 😊
I have slightly thin hair how many packs do you suggest that I use
I purchased 7 packs, and I have thin-normal hair. The only reason I suggest 7 is incase you don't have enough. As these are 0.5g per strand, they're quite thin so may take more to blend with your hair better (depending on length) :)
@@ChloeLuckin Okay thank you. :) my length is just above my shoulders blades.
@@ChloeLuckin one question could you give me three or more place to buy good quality I tip hair extensions? But that's cheap.
Because of your hair length, they should blend pretty good 😊
I haven’t had much luck with the cheap Extensions from eBay and aliexpress, but there are some which are great at an affordable price!
Cliphair’s Hair is really good for the price and will last you quite a while, however they don’t have all of their shades in the i-tips.
SJK is more expensive but the hair is really nice and lasts a while (I just can’t use them anymore because their red shades don’t look natural and washed out).
Beauty works I’ve heard is incredible but they’re really expensive though!
@@ChloeLuckin thank you so very much for taking the time to write that out for me I'm going to look up each one
How many pieces per row and how many at the sides ? X
paisley kivell Hi Paisley, I don't do a specific amount of extensions per row, I just pop in how many I can fit. Always make sure that you leave a thumb with around the hairline and neckline, and you won't be able to see the rings. If you have a bigger/smaller head or more/less hair than me, you'll be able to place a different amount to what I managed to fit 😊
Chloe Luckin thank you :) I had mine put in about 8 weeks ago and they're starting to slip and some of have come out & my hair has started forming little dreadlocks where they have slipped. What would you suggest for washing routine. I used to wash my natural hair everyday. I've tried washing my hair with the extensions every other day & using dry shampoo in between washes. I'm scared of taking them out myself incase i put them in wrong and have to pay £80 to have them put back in haha.
paisley kivell oh no! Maybe there wasn't enough of your own hair in with the extension, which could be why it's slipping. I recommend washing your hair twice a week, and brushing your hair several times a day. Make sure you sleep with your hair in one or two plaits, and your hair won't tangle 😊
It seems like your extensions might be dry, so try using a deep conditioner on your extensions each time you wash (macadamia oil deep repair masque is perfect!), and pop some hair oil in your hair every night before you go to bed or use it every day after you've styled your hair. The best oils I've used are the Garnier Hair Oils (the coconut oil ones my favourite), and your hair will start getting moisture back in about a week. This trick saved my hair after I went to Florida and it went all dry and frizzy! 😊
Chloe Luckin thank you :) I'm in the process of taking them all out now so I can give my hair a good wash then I'll put them back in tomorrow :) thank you so much for the advice :)
paisley kivell no problem! Sometime you just need to take them out and put them back in to get them how you like 😊
If you want any recommendations for products, let me know 😊
If your hair is colored how does the extensions being beaded in effect upkeeping the color?
Hi Simba, It's pretty easy to recolour your hair with extensions. As the extensions grow out, your natural roots will come through. Dye your roots before you do maintenance on the extensions, and then after you've washed your hair and dried it, you can move up the extensions. :)
Thanks!!
Cool 👍
How many strands do you have in? Xx
I believe I used around 6 packs, so about 180 😊
How many hair I need to buy
Wilma Linnette it all depends on how thick your hair is. I used just over 5 packs for mine 😊
Oh ok thank you 😊
Hi that’s exactly what I need to add a little thickness to the sides. Can I ask where you bought the hair from?
It’s from yourshairshop.com 😊
Wonderful hair and it’s lasted me 8 months before! It’s thinner for people who have thin-normal hair. I used them to just thicken my hair but keep the length during summer and they’re amazing! I did 2 -3 rows on the bottom, then went up on the sides by doing an extra 3 rows. They looked so good, and make sure if you’re only doing half-head to do the bricklayer method 😊
Pleee tell me which extension os best for very thin hair tape r micro ring please answer me
I think they’re both great for thin hair! I currently have half a head of micro rings to fill out my hair and I’ve used tape ins too! Both have been great for my hair, but I prefer micro rings if you want more of a natural look 😊
@@ChloeLuckin I heard that application of micro extension demage hair ?
anam zara they don’t damage your hair as long as they are taken care of properly and have been installed correctly. I’ve never had any problems with micro rings 😊
@@ChloeLuckin thanks
Hey! What colour of micro beads do you use? I have same colour hair
I have the light brown 😊 they didn’t have this colour last time I ordered so had to get the golden blonde and it was a BIG MISTAKE!
The light brown are the perfect tone and colour for my hair 😊
Yes!! So I bought the golden blonde thinking they would be a good blend, so wrong 🙈, thank you!
I want to try the small micro tubes with the silicone lining (I tried the copper microtones before) have you tried?! Also! They only have medium and dark brown, do you think the medium will be too dark?
Mary oh definitely get the silicone lined ones. They can damage your hair and can slip easier if you don’t get silicone lined. If you have a brown bobby pin lying around, hold that up to your head. That should be the colour the rings are 😊
Mary these ones are shorter but have the same size opening as the ones I use 😊 yourhairshop.com/collections/beads/products/silicone-lined-microlinks?variant=7081288859711
thank youuuuuu
No problem! Happy to help 😌

Hey where are you located?
Andrea Arcos I'm in the midlands 😊
Chloe Luckin ooh ok I thought you were in the US
Andrea Arcos haha sorry! 😊
She like don’t even tell me this isn’t how u do cause it is….
But people do it differently sometimes
I’m confused by your comment. I mentioned that this is a DIY, and to make sure it’s done with the least chance of matting is to get a pintail comb and make sure your sections are even and lines are straight.
I’m qualified in extensions so I know this is how you install them (other than that I didn’t section them perfectly and my lines aren’t super straight). I’m just giving the disclaimer to do it at your own risk if you’re not a professional as things can go wrong if not done correctly 🤔
I have heard horror stories about these extensions. I have a sensitive scalp do they hurt your head and when you lie down can you feel the bead?
Julie Kozlowski hi Julie, the horror stories only happen if they haven't been installed correctly, too heavy on the head, or if they're used on very weak hair. You can feel these in your hair for the first few days, but after then, you get used to them and you can't feel them 😊
Can I have your room please!!! 💜💜💜💜💜😍😍😍😍😍 lol
@@ChloeLuckin 😀😀😀😂😂😂 lol
Rat tail comb😁
This drives me crazy the placement is terrible like omg
Kaitie Del Rey thanks for your opinion but the position is great! If you watched the beginning of the video, I mentioned that I position them a little differently to how I would do a clients'. On my hair, I don't put in as much of a gap between the lines. The lines are straight, the positioning is great. I am a qualified extension stylist so I know what I'm doing .
it's a rat tail comb. I thought you would of known that 😒😞
mandi holmes I'm sorry, I couldn't think of the name for it when I was filming. We called them pointed tail combs 😊
your hair looked beautiful by the way. Also is there a lot of maintenance to these type of extentions? 😀
mandi holmes thank you so much!
There's a bit of maintenance to do in them. For instance, they need to be pushed up as they start slipping, or once every 6-8 weeks. Plus, you always need to make sure you brush them gently, and tie them in a side plait or braid when sleeping. You also need to make sure they're conditioned, and pull apart the individual extensions from eachother every other day to make sure they don't tangle.
I have full videos on how to care for extensions on my channel 😊
thank you I will go have a look see 😀
and you've gained a new subbie 😀
mandi holmes thank you 😊
A hair dresser who don't know that the comb is called a rat tail comb????
It slipped my mind when filming the video? Of course I know what it’s called. And I’m not a hairdresser - I’m an extension stylist 😊
omgggggggggggg she talks too much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, giving a how to and talking about the Extensions is a lot of information 😂
Question: I am installing mine today. It is the first time I am doing nano ring, I typically use I tip fusion. In this video you say to make sure the extension is in the front but every other video I've watched says to make sure it's in the back. Is this something that makes a difference or is it purely preference?
Hi Jesika, when I did my extension course we were taught for the I-tips to be at the front instead of at the back. I believe it’s so it doesn’t cause as much tension on the hair if you’re wearing it up, and so it doesn’t cause as much pain on the scalp when lying down. Also, if you wear your hair up, it’s less noticeable as if you haven’t placed them in the correct place, you’ll only be hiding the bead and not the extension tip too - so a lot less detectable 😊
And good luck installing them! 😊
How long did the installation take you?
Erin Lovett In total it took me 8 hours but that was having breaks and going out in between. I think I was actually installing for around 4 hours. I hadn't installed them in a while so it took me longer than it normally would have 😊
