Hi Peter. Bought one of the first 18" kits from you Dad many years ago, I think and the TO show but could have been somewhere else, don't remember now. I needed to put a new top on the sander but other than that it has served me well over the years. Thanks Bill
Ethan, Nice to see you at the Hamilton Wood Show Feb 2018. My 18” kit was bought from your Dad 25 years ago and it has worked perfectly all these years. Thanks for making this video, it will be very helpful for owners of this table drum sander...
That seemed like a very useful introduction to the tool, thanks. I'd heard of them, and only have seen one before, and that was in photos online. It was set up with the drum over the table, and the table had jack-screws to change ¿cut-depth. I think it may have had notches to change basic adjustment. It looked useful for dimensioning where this style looks good for finishing and surfacing. I will look into the topic more
I’ve actually just posted a video of a direct cut comparison on a bandsaw after a link belt upgrade. Might be worth watching! ua-cam.com/video/JpDA2X6L9Y4/v-deo.html
Bought one of the kits and the factory metal top, the quality of the parts seems great, but the instructions are terrible, be prepared for a lot of customization and trial and error when setting it up. I am now trying to build some type of motor mount that will work with the metal top. Certainly lots of room for improvment with the kits.

Thanks for the comment Peter!
I'm glad you got a chance to meet my dad and have enjoyed using our sander. :)

Does it matter if you wind the sandpaper on left to right or visa versa??
Wondering if segmented drive belt makes a substantial reduction in vibration

What is the ideal drum pipe diameter for this machine?
Where do you buy the separate items to make these?
Have you made many refinements since the original post?
Awesome.
