Normies: The MCU is so cOmPlIcAtEd. How am I supposed to keep track of all these character's backstories. Actual Marvel comics fans: Remember that time Captain America dated an obscure villain in the 3rd or 4th string villain team?
Facts , also I liked Diamond back and cap even if they where more like friends . She was interesting because it was a lesser seen Villain turning to more hero-ish type work . Also the constant fights against this notorious society was actually fun to read .
I always thought how interesting the idea of Serpent Society could have formed from Hydra as a story arc. Which could have formed from Cobra La, which then helped to evolve to the organization "Cobra". Thus in turn led to the early beginning of "Gi Joe", evolving from "S H I E L D". Honestly that would be awesome. The special forces GI JOE starting from SHIELD.
As a kid in the 80’s Captain America was one of my favs & I loved the Society stories. I developed a massive crush on Diamondback & was amped when she became Cap’s partner.
Been enjoying your videos since I found them and subscribed some months back. Forgive me for saying this, I found this one a bit...off. The research for the individual members at the beginning in particular seems a bit lacking.
These guys were amazing back in their day. I loved how the writers kept continuity through several of their appearances. While they were commonly villains, they had a code of honor several members (at least the founding members under Sidewinder's command) displayed, which made me appreciate them: - Bushmaster was saved by Diamondback during the first MODOK fight, and several issues later, when Diamondback was captured, he voted for her to be forgiven. - Death Adder risked himself to pull Princess Python out of the crashed Saucer (but this could have also been for her dollar value) - Sidewinder, even after retiring from being Sidewinder, saved Rachel from the rest of the Serpents to pay his debt, and in a later issue, decided to save King Cobra from prision (but that eventually backfired because Cobra didn't want to be saved). Unfortunately, not everything about them received the same attention to detail; Black Racer and Puff Adder changed ethnicity over the years
I’d always wondered if Coachwhip aka Beatrix Keener was the inspiration behind Kill Bill. The lead being Beatrix Kiddo, who also wears yellow and is also under a snake group names
Another film adaptation could be where Constrictor is apart of the society but then joins the avengers at the end to fight the rest them off. They could make it that he didn’t agree with Black Mamba’s plan to blow something up, kill someone or destroy some country
I'm a little disappointed that Seth Rollins won't be in the film but if it is to make sure that the film is the best it can be then by all means. Serpent Society can be the villans of Thunderbolts
Rock Python facing mcu black panther would’ve been cool. Anaconda would have vibranium i suppose instead of adamantium. Viper would have super solider serum for sure.
Same names different characters, they’re entirely different than the ones mentioned here. Well, Bushmaster is still related to serpent society’s Bushmaster because they’re siblings or something, but they have different powers and everything.
All 20 different versions of that team including the cloned ones as well as the solo Zodiac, the One-Man Zodiac (both have ties) and maybe for the heck of it, Zodiak and Miss Zodiac as well. I had to rewrite the Handbook entry for them for the TPB edition and that was...that was a doozy keeping it all straight.
Unless they brought him back super-recently, no, Alex Gentry has stayed dead since then. He was cloned once by Arnim Zola, but that clone was killed by Deadpool.
The Serpent society are so dysfunctional and relatable as villains.

Great video as usual, sir
HELL YES!!! Love that you did this video on the Serpent Society!!!
Nice Work JLS

Always liked this team. Not often you see a group cobbled together representing mutantdom & enhanced humans.
Haven't heard about the Serpent Society in awhile. Thank you for this.

Yyessss! You guys do the best characters. I love The Cobra.

Punisher.

Great job my friend, excellent video
Great vid!
The Serpent Society is one villain team I didn't know much about.
Thanks!
R u talkin bout the Dem Party?

It's an evil organization that has a snake 🐍 theme.
Awesome episode ❗🔥💯👍
The shortage of ink in the 70s reached far into the 80s as well. The publishers we like, "All we can afford are four colors, do what you can" 🤣
Whatever happened to Modam anyway? I actually really like King Cobra , I like his relationship with Mr. Hyde. We need more of their interactions.
Not gonna lie, I read those issues back in the 90s and totally shipped Cap and Diamondback
While you researched the team, did you find a team symbol at all?
0:35- Teaching economics can definitely do that to a guy.
Damn the main serpent society actually acts like a family
This was sweet 🎂
Elektra.
Since he is mentioned in this video how about a history of Scourge
Nice

Modam? That is a new one for me. Has she been in anything else ever?

Cottonmouth, Diamondback, and Bushmaster all appeared on Netflix's Luke Cage.
Wasn’t there a Bushmaster and Diamondback that were enemies of Luke Cage?
@@matthewschwartz6607 Yes

9:30 would be a good movie if done in the way of mcu winter soldier with the russo’s
Look like some Venture Bros type villians.
My favorite crime syndicate even over Hydra & AIM
11:03 - AYO!!!
How about the history of the zodiac society.
Yesss!!!

My favorite was Lady Death Rattlor. She was creepy.
How did you call yourselves Cobra you will be dealt with severely
Tell me you're a GI Joe Cobra simp without telling me you're a GI Joe Cobra simp.
Did that Porcupine ever come back to life?
Unless they brought him back super-recently, no, Alex Gentry has stayed dead since then. He was cloned once by Arnim Zola, but that clone was killed by Deadpool.
@@MadisonCarter The Porcupine currently running around is a different person, who stole the Porcupine’s suit from where it was stored iirc.
I rarely liked them. Only time I think was in cap around the porcupine issue.
Don’t like how you introduced diamondback
Bushmaster the one black guy… getting his arms amputated again lol. Smh
🐍 snakes are associated with evil hence a group of villains
i dont understand why some of these folks are on the "serpent society" when they have no serpent themed origin or even powers
Coachwhip: I have the same name as a snake and I use electric whips.
SS: Close enough you're in!
