Marcus Miller Style Dance Track with Slap Bass Solo
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- Here's a wee Cover of track with a similar theme to the Bruno Mars Cover thats now had over a Million Views. Bass solo in the middle with some slap bass to play out the track.
Gonna try and keep adding solo's to tracks so if there's anything you would like to see as the next cover please leave me suggestion in the comment box.
Bass was recorded Live straight to Soundcard. The bass is the ACG RetroB 5string, a Sansamp has been used in the mixing process to beef up some lines.

Very tight. Your grasp of transitioning between all the thumb techniques and traditional pluck is very smooth. That effortless appearance is very difficult but you nailed it and emote with dynamics so tastefully. Great tone to, keep killing it!

Love your playing. Just wondering how you prevent your thumb from going to far under the G string when double thumbing ? It's an issue I currently have & only solution I can think of is modding my bass by adding a scratch plate ? It's a Fodera Monarch so the fretboard is quite high from the body. Any tips ? Cheers.
Mrflippyfloop hey man thanks for the support. I guess the common pitfall of the thumb technique is being too aggressive. You have to treat it as if your thumb is a pick. If you think of doubling really fast you’ll notice you have to keep a tight distance. Think of it like bouncing a ball, in order to get more bounces at high speed you have to keep the ball closer to the ground.
Try double thumbing fast and then work backwards, keeping the thumb tight to the string. I tend to palm mute as i do it, to keep the other string from ringing out. One other point, is that I’m cutting diagonally into the string to get a better flow. Going straight up and down, makes your thumb stick in the string more. It’s exactly the way you would use a pick.
Hope that makes some sort of sense. I am working on a bunch of courses with techniques and musical ideas on my website. Keep an eye out for that. C
CocosBassment Thanks, that is some helpful tips. Appreciate your reply and advice.
