Hi Mark! Thank you for the review. I installed 3 of them in my house, and I noticed that the thermostat heats up while in operation. This in turn influences the temperature sensor, and leads to higher temperature readings. This is the same for all 3 units. Did you notice something similar?
@@MarksTechVlogs If that is the case, it does not make for an excellent product does it? I am also concerned about the safety of long term operation...
Hey Mark. Thanks for your reviews. I just wonder if that’s the right product for me in combination with Meross smart valves if the valves themselves cannot trigger heating. Is there any way to bypass it with any automations, or it’s not worth it and I should look somewhere else?
Also. USE CASE SCENARIO: I have valves set to 20. Thermostat shows 20 as well. I set thermostat to 25. What happens then? Valves do not adjust automatically when I use manual mode on thermostat, I assume right? Also I assume that this kind of situation might be potentially dangerous for the boiler itself when it runs but there are no valves open.
@@retrun813 Your case scenario is correct...but it wouldn't be dangerous for the toilet because the hot water will still go round the system just not into the radiators. The Meross valves sort of act as a smart version of traditional ones but with more precision e.g. instead of 1-5 as per a non-smart valve you can set the temperature based on time of day as long as your heating is on so they're still useful but do rely on the main thermostat being triggered. The only ones that can trigger the heating from the valves that I know of are the Tado ones
@@retrun813 Personally, I use Tado on a daily basis...it is more expensive but I think the extra features are justified...I also pay their £3 a month subscription which enables automatic geofencing so when the last person leaves the heating is switched off automatically 🙂 If you use my referral for Tado you'll save some money referral.tado.com/r8nadaky
Hello, thanks for the great review. A quick question, I plan to connect the floor sensor (as a check point for the underfloor hearing). I noticed in the Meross app that you have the option to choose either 1) air and floor sensor or 2) just a floor sensor. If I choose the option air and floor sensor, then which one would it use to control temperature as the room temperature is expected to be less than the floor?
Hi I have installed one of these but just wondering can you set it to go on for 1 hour then turn off. My previous one I could do a 1 l,2 or 3 hour boost. Just wondering can this be done. Closest I got was create a hold but then it went onto Automatic and wasn't actually off. Thanks, great video
Can you tell me please! what is the minimal temperature window it provides? Example - you set it to 21C if it starts heating at 20.5 and stops at 21 - than window is 0.5 degrees. I am asking because a lot of termostats start heating at 20 or will stop at 21.5 if you have setting like that
Hi Mark, great video! Meross looks like a great system. I have a Potterton combi boiler, pressurised water tank and a Potterton EP 2002 controller BUT NO thermostats - I just have Dryaton individual rad thermostats. I'd like to convert top Meross. I'm awaiting delivery of a set of Meross rad thermostats but wondering if I can also control my boiler using Meross thermostat (even though I don't have a thermostat now). Thanks for the advice!
Hey, I don’t know if the Meross is compatible with water tanks…with your setup it sounds like you’re probably best contacting a heating engineer…I know very little about boilers 😂
Hi great review. I happen to have a conventional non combi boiler. My hall stat currently controls the heating only. Which is all I want. Could the Meross do that ?
@@MarksTechVlogs thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately more than double the price. I guess it would only need to switch the boiler on/off when temperatures are met. Perhaps I'll contact Meross.
Certainly worth an email to them…I’ve seen the Tado drop to £99 on Amazon before…you can also save 15% if you go directly to Tado with this link referral.tado.com/r8nadaky
Great video, I recently got a new boiler ideal, and has a thermostat which is a nightmare to set up. But there’s only a black and brown cable going into, there’s and earth cable at the back. Will this work? Thanks
If you can find the wiring diagram for your existing thermostat that might help but if you have a heating engineer you use even if the wires are different they should be able to fit one for you…it’ll just cost more because of the fitting

I didn’t notice that but perhaps that’s why they include the external temperature sensor?
@@MarksTechVlogs If that is the case, it does not make for an excellent product does it? I am also concerned about the safety of long term operation...
If you’re concerned about how warm it gets I’d reach out to Meross support as perhaps there’s a fault? Mine didn’t get noticeable warm
At 5:47 you showed the setup of the display brightness.
What happens, if it is set to 0? Is the display turned off or is it still shining?

I’m afraid I’m not sure as I don’t have underfloor heating. I’d drop Meross support an email as I’m sure they’ll be able to help

When I was using and testing this for the review it seemed to stop at the .5 interval so if you set it to 21.5 that’s where it stops

I believe the Meross is only compatible with combi boilers however, the Tado will be perfect for what you want amzn.to/4aFkmqU

I’m not sure, are the cables going in labelled so say what they are?

Hi - what electric underfloor heating mats are compatible with this thermostat?
I’m not sure with this one, Meross do one for underfloor heating so the spec might say amzn.to/4cymFMn
@@MarksTechVlogs thanks - Yes this is the one that I have purchased, but it doesn't say or recommend any compatible mats
I see, I don’t have underfloor heating and know nothing about it so I’m guessing the best thing to do will be to contact Meross support
Hey Mark,
Do you know why when I'm ordering the thermostat is asking me to pay in US dollars.
I want uk version
I think that whilst the shop itself shows in GBP the checkout always shows dollars, it may change back to pounds on the screen after
