  • Collegiate Reformed Fellowship is the campus ministry of Christ Church and Trinity Reformed Church in Moscow, Idaho. Our goal is to teach and exhort young men and women to serve, to witness, to stand fast, and to mature in their Christian Faith. We desire to see students get established in a godly lifestyle and a trajectory toward maturity. We also desire to proclaim the Christian worldview to the university population and the surrounding communities. CRF is not an independent ministry. All our activities are supplemental to the teaching and shepherding ministry of CC & TRC. Students involved with CRF are regularly reminded that the most important student ministry takes place at Lord’s Day worship.

Question: So we who are from third world nation and have subjected ourselves to the God of the Israelites(abandoning all our own forms of knowing, morality and culture ethics) are not blessed by this deity? Reform christians muse about the blessing of yahweh on American, but with the same breathe blast Africans for expecting prosperity from the same deity.
Squarely, the conditions of African nations are far more complex than selective blessings. It is taking us time, but we will eventual consolidate our economics and demand fair exchanges for international trade. We will digitize our processes and thereby be able to identify areas we bleed capital and waste Human Resources. We are growing in numbers and hour kids are getting more educated.

Africa is indeed on the road to increase. Be open to the possibility that it is God's provision.

"Just take a quick glance at the history of the world...Wherever the gospel of the lord Jesus Christ goes, wherever people trust in that gospel, wherever a lot of people trust in that gospel, all sorts of good and wonderful things happen..."
So..are we just ignoring the Middle Ages? Ignoring the countless times Christianity opposed scientific progress? All of the people that were killed by those declaring Christianity as their justification? Is the 'quick glance' glancing at history while going mach 3?
What a fantastically bold thing to say!

Is this the Middle ages where the foundations of science were laid? Where the laws and ways of reason were formed? Where Europe went from a pagan backwater at the edge of the world, to a force to be reckoned with globally? Where inventions such as the hospital, university, and limited government first took root?
Or is this another Middle ages you speak of?

@Scotty Yoch Yes, where a number of scientific discoveries were made in spite of being oppressed by the ruling Christianity.
We seem to be talking about the same Middle Ages.

Thanks, Pastor Jared. I'm curious your thoughts on this Martin Luther quote: "Therefore it is out of the question that there should be a common Christian government over the whole world or indeed over a single country or any considerable body of people, for the wicked always outnumber the good. Hence, a man who would venture to govern an entire country or the world with the gospel would be like a shepherd who should put together in one fold wolves, lions, eagles and sheep, and let them mingle freely with one another, saying, 'help yourselves, be good and peaceful toward one another. The fold is open, there is plenty of food. You need have no fear of dogs and clubs.' The sheep would doubtless keep the peace and allow themselves to be fed and governed peacefully, but they would not live long, nor would one beast survive another." Would love to hear your thoughts on this.
There is an actual longer text from which this is taken but just curious what you think about the above quote. Be blessed!

Really? He is actually using "The Year of our Lord" as an argument for a Christian nation? AD = Anno Domini = "The Year of Our Lord" was the way everyone referred to the age in which we live. The Late William F Buckley jr would call this a "Breathtaking non sequitur".

No America should not be a Christian nation. The US has never been a Christian nation. Here is why: “The purpose of separation of church and state is to keep forever from these shores the ceaseless strife that has soaked the soil of Europe in blood for centuries.”
    James Madison
