Water Changes in A Malawi African Cichlid Tank *CAN BE DANGEROUS!*

Water changes in a Malawi Cichlid tank are very different from those in my other tanks. Fish behavior can change suddenly and violent behavior, territory battles and other dangerous craziness can get triggered by the water change. Why does this happen? Let's talk about it and compare it to water changes in some of the other tanks in my fish room.

Water changes in my 125 gallon solo male Jag tank are dangerous in a different sense 🤣 he quite often shows his displeasure with me by attacking my hand or the gravel vac 🤣

My mbuna display aggressive behavior after a water change. They get fired up with bright colors and chase one another. It usually subsides after an hour or so. If it does not improve. I sometimes need to turn off the lights and cover the tank with towels so they will calm down.

First really liked you're podcast today. Second i think water changes are like when it rains in there natural habitat. Nutrients and minerals are introduced into the water which can make them aggressive also if there were females in the tank it can make them interested in breeding which definitely brings out the males colors to attract the female. It happens in my tropheus tanks and my community tanks. I have lots of babies in those tanks. The only reason it doesn't happen in my African chiclid tank is like you're tanks there are no females. I'm sorry Mr. Ochart. I've been watching your channel for a long time and you seem to have a problem with picking the low fruit sometimes.A low fruit is the best thing that can happen to anybody. How was it possible that after all these years of making UA-cam videos that you have not changed your UA-cam name to "FlowChart?"
