That there are people out there who take the time to create these very useful videos is quite reassuring. Thank you for this information. I've got a half dozen that went stale. It would be a shame to throw them out.
You're very welcome! I've been experimenting with a new method that I find works better for me. I start by slicing the bagel but keeping it assembled, then I rub a bit of water on the outside. After that, I toast it with the cut side facing down in a toaster oven or a regular toaster. This approach seems to give me great results.
I’ve been lmao while watching this video!😂😂😂 Very fun.. since when I tried to eat my 2-days bagel.. muscles on my face were so sore after a few bites🤣 I wanna give a try based on this advice, although I find this video is not that educational, but rather entertaining👍
I apologize for the delayed response. How did that bagel taste? Did it work out for you? I've been doing something a little different, lately I've been cutting the bagel after 2-3 days. I keep the bagel together after cutting, then run it under water quickly. Then, I separate the slices and place them in the toaster over or toaster. So far, it seems to work out for me. Feel free to give me your feedback on those experiments. Thanks for watching!!
@@peteshowtosreviews8067 I love Noah’s Bagels as they are chewy and I wanted that same chewiness. It turned out ok. I cut the bagel, wet paper towels, placed one in the middle, then covered the bagel with the other and microwaved for 4 minutes. I let it sit as it continued to steam. It was good and a lil chewy but of course, not as chewy as when fresh. However, I now have a method for softening my bagel.
Awesome! not everyone, likes the capers. My wife and daughter aren't fans either, but my son basically eats what ever I eat for the most part. Thanks for watching!!
My method is to steam it untill it's really soft, possibly 5 min. Then put on a heated pizza stone in the oven at 400f until the tops and bottoms get that nice crispy crunch. The steam emulates and rehydrates the original boiling process. The oven dries the wetness from the steaming process and crisps the top while having a chewy hot and moist center.
I'll have to try that out. I've been doing that process different lately. I slice the bagel, put it back together, then run it under water quickly, enough to wet the outside. After that step, I separate the slices and place them in the toaster over with the sliced side facing down. It seems to work good, but I'm open to trying it your way. Thanks for sharing, and thanks for watching!
Hi, I haven't experimented with frozen bagels. I would exact it to be better in the toaster, of course without the paper towel. I don't want to guide you the wrong way. I apologize I wasn't able to give you a direct answer. Thank you for watching!
Cool! I have another technique I use for toasting a three day old a bagel. After slicing it, I reassemble it and lightly moisten the outer surface with water, ensuring not to saturate or overly dampen the inside. Then, I place the prepared slices into the toaster. Thanks for watching!!
i have tried everything to use a moist paper towel in the microwave for about 15 seconds and then put in the toaster on bagel setting and still not the same when it was fresh from the store right to the toaster😢😢😢,, its ruined the bagel😢😢
I apologize for the late response and that it did work out. I've noticed after practicing, some bagels do better than others, and also that the bagel is ruined after toasting it if microwaved first. The most days I would go is 3 days. I no longer put it in the microwave. I cut the bagel, put it back together and wet it with water using my hand. Do not soak it because it will be soggy. Once you've wet the whole thing, take it apart and place it in the toaster. I use a toaster oven, therefore I put the cut side facing down. It will be good, but it won't be the same as fresh. Thanks for watching!

I'm glad you found it entertaining, sometimes the best learning is through humor. Thanks for watching!
Appreciate the honesty. My bagel is 3-days, gonna give it a try.

Love it, everything except the capers.

What about when the bagels are in the freezer?

LOL, I'm sure you expected a different final result.
