You've got an amazing guitar shop. It's one of the best in the world. Those Fenders look amazing. The Fender Custom Shop is the gold standard of custom guitar shops.
Just bought the 59 NOS lefty strat in sonic blue. Hopefully, my lifetime guitar, just feels weird buying it without playing it first!!! Very excited doesn’t come close!
Gotta love the Fender Custom Shop. The specs on these guitars are all pretty much perfect in my opinion. Vintage look, feel, and tone with modern playability. They’re like getting a vintage fender that someone did a really really good fret job and re-radius on and sent it on its way.
I'd love to see some more 80s-style guitars from Fender. It'd be cool to see guitars modified exactly like people used to modify them, with extra pickups, preamp circuits, effects loops, 12" radii, etc. None of these strike me as particularly brave, interesting, or even believable. Really? A guitar that was played that much (Heavy relic) has mostly original pickups? Not IRL. 100% someone would have put a Dimarzio in there at some point, or turned it into a twin humbucker dealio, or maybe even a P90? There's so much room to do cool stuff that the custom shop shys away from due to their lawyer and dentist fanbase.

These instruments just have no evidence in their design of having been truly played. They’re just torn up. They could do a “restored” series with missing pickguards but 3 single coils screwed directly to the wood, or with a tune o matic placed directly over a Floyd rose cavity.
