Diy tip adjustable clothes line poles make good strengthening poles on porch awnings ad suction cup one end remove a bit of plastic the other worked for me much cheaper £3.50 dunhelm.

It would yes, as long as your c channel will take a is 6mm beading and it mounted at the correct height.
