As a foot doctor I look at tennis shoes and tennis shoe technology a bit differently as I focus more on what foot types benefit from these shoes as well as the tennis and basketball sneakers functional attributes on the tennis and basketball court

thank you for this one! I couldn’t wait for you to review it!
Love your vids, very informative. Keep up the good work.
Thanks! Glad you’re liking them
I’m playing some grass court tournaments this summer and my grass court shoe choice is basically limited to these and the Head Sprint Pro 3.0. Which would you recommend over the other (considering I have wide, high arched feet)? Thanks, Alex.
Just switched from the K-Swiss Express lite 2 to the Jet Mach 3. I am so much happier now. The most comfortable court shoe i've ever worn. I tried on the Jet Tere and Propulse Fury. I didn't think they were very comfortable. The Jet Mach 3 feels like it was made specifically for me. I love your channel bro.
Hey thanks great video would you choose the Mach 3 over the Head revolt 4 pro
wilson kaos actually has a all/clay court version with fishbone pattern outsole
Hello doctor when you say heavier player should look for another shoe can i check what would be the threshold weight if heavy player. Is it 70 kg,80 kg or 100kg. This will help me determine if i can use this shoe for my body weight. Thanks a lot for help
My prefer babolate is the SFX3 I play one wall racquetball and paddleball on cement and the sole is great, I still have the SFX from 3 years ago and the sole is still great
Since you never did a "standard" review of this shoe, how does the Babolat Jet Mach IIIs compare to the New Balance 996v5 and Asics Solution Speed FF 2? Which do you prefer Zach?
Hi doc, what is the heel height of this shoe?
I normally use a 12 size on nike, are babolat size similar to nike? Or should I need a 13 like with adidas
Zack -- been considering this shoe. I've got a pretty severe bunion, but have been considering this Babolat because of the uppers. I generally wear a size 13, but think I might order this in a 14. I've always worn new balance, but they are too heavy. Any other recommendations for a very wide foot would be recommended.
Adidas solematch bounce or Courtjam bounce would fit too I would think pretty well
Zach, is the another option than the Jet Mach 3, that is low to the ground, slidey, and not pointy toes?
Yonex sonicage widths are awesome, you will love them. Also, im a convert to thorlos lvl 3 tennis sox, thanks for suggestion, theyre clouds
👍👍
Hey FDZack, quick question, what is your Asic's shoe size? I was lucky to find another pair of the original Speed Solution 2's from 6 years ago, which I think is the GOAT tennis shoe, if I find your size in a new version can I send you a pair to analyze and test and do what you do?
I’m an 11.5, but I couldn’t guarantee you a video just because I have about a month delay in videos now with all the new models coming out plus my custom molds so I’d have to get back to you on timing
I rolled my ankles with Jet Mach 2s just after a few weeks of play on it. Loved the shoes otherwise. How does this mach 3 compare in terms of stability?
More narrow in the heel so I felt less stable but quicker
A very fast shoe. I loved it for pickleball. Until I developed some metatarsal pain in my right foot. Now looking for a little more cushioning in the forefoot.
Can augment w orthotic too
Hi Foot Doctor Zach, Since you mention that the shoe does not feel stable moving side to side. Does it mean that probability of ankle sprain is higher in this shoe? I am being careful because have a history of ankle sprain so would be rather careful
They actually got better over time as i broke them in but there are probably better shoes out there for chronic ankle sprainers, check out my ultimate tennis shoe guide video
I’m a heavy woman (175-180 lb) with higher arches. I don’t play as often as I’d like (practice once a week and match once a week) so I don’t have too much worry about durability. What shoe options might you recommend for me?
Actually the Jet Mach’s would work really well, also the GP turbo
Hey Doc, So I along with my crew have observed an ample presence of the Nike Vapor 10s amongst the ATP and WTA tours this spring in Europe. What is going on? What is the source of this supply if not Nike? Are they maintaining production for their pro clients? Could you possibly lead us to or perhaps point out a distributor that will give us access to this inventory of 10s? 🙏🤫🤷♂️🎾
I have no idea who has the X’s besides eBay where there are quite a few colorways
hey Doctor Zach. Is there any database of whether a (tennis) shoe midsole is EVA or Polyurethane?
Not that I know of
I bought babolat propulse blast just prior to the Covid and I couldn't use them and found the are a half size small
Babolat all are a tad shrunken
I'd been thinking of the Kaos Swift clays for the dirt - do you still hate the shoe with that sole/surface or is it the HC sole only that bothers? IE is the ankle collar (seems different here than Mirage)/rest of shoe also bad in the Swifts you think?
I don’t like any of the kaos line - I think the tread is pretty hazardous esp on clay
@@FootDoctorZach Right but I was asking about the clay version, which has a normal herringbone pattern, for clay. Still a bad/unsafe shoe overall in your opinion because you don't like the rest of the shoe too? Or is it only the hard court sole on a hard court that bothers?
Uppers still not something I’d recommend to my patients
@@FootDoctorZach Much appreciated, as always.
Great video on the Jet Mach IIIs, will really help my wife narrow down the choices for her next pair (shortlist is U4s, Vapor Pros, SS FF2s or Mach IIIs...she's coming from the Mach IIs and loved them being a lightweight player who relies on her foot speed to track balls down and counter punch). However I ended up watching your Q&A at the end about getting more hefty/comfortable shoes for juniors...and you recommended these shoes for your son...my older son is quite big for his age (age 12, 5'8" 130 lbs) and because of this he prefers the minimalist Vapor Pros so he can move around the court quicker (the downside being he burns through them very quickly)...he did not like the GP Turbos because they were too rigid/big/bulky...should I force him to wear the GP Turbos instead based on your recommendation?...I'm sure my wallet would thank me as well since they would last a lot longer...what make/model shoes does your son wear?
For kids I can’t really give advice as I haven’t examined the foot but for me as long as my kid was comfortable I’d be ok- it’s hard with their feet because they change almost weekly - I usually get NB just because that’s what matches the shape best of his foot, no real other reason
@@FootDoctorZach thanks for the info. Maybe he should stick to the Vapor Pros then. Also as a side note since you are doing more basketball + tennis related shoe content...He used his Vapor Pros for indoor basketball recently since he had quickly outgrown his basketball shoes and they performed really well, he nearly averaged a double double over the summer and his feet felt great afterwards. I know most of your reviews are for using tennis shoes for outdoor basketball instead of indoor so thought this would be an interesting data point.
How does it compares to Diadora Speed Blushield 5 in terms of comfort?
Better initial comfort - bottoms out quicker
which one would you pick between this and the solution speed ff3? And what if shock absorption is more of the deciding factor
These all day
Are these good for flat feet?
Hi Zack! Unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to see your video live I'm watching it now. I would like you to please give me your opinion. I took your advice and bought the GP TURBO for harcourts and although I still feel a little tight up front they have been very surprising in positive terms. I have alternated with the Yonex E3 and have preferred the GP. However, last week I had a tournament and I decided to play with them. I played 2 matches in one day and in the end I was filled with pain in the plantar area of my foot. Today I went to train just for 1 hour and I felt the same problem again. I've had them for about 1 month and it had never happened. The temperatures here have been very high, could that be why? I have been feeling some pain in the Achilles tendon and the GP are very good at cushioning but I get foot pain. Have you ever had a similar complaint? Do you think that at this time of year I should wear more ventilated tennis shoes? What do you suggest? Thank you very much!!
I really can’t get in to specific medical advice as I haven’t examined you but I would seek out an in person consult with a doctor as that pain could be internal and have nothing to do with the shoe and you dont want to sit on a foot injury with tennis
I love this shoe for allowing my pinky toe to not be crammed.
How many millimeter on the serve jump test ? Thanks
27cm
Would the jet mach 3 feature on your top 5 shoes for hardcourt?
Not sure about top 5 just because of midsole durability - but i do like them
How is the toe box on the mach3, narrow or medium wide
Slightly narrow but soft so it breaks in at least for me
How the fit my friend ? Better going a half size up like in the gp turbo ?
Yeah all babolat shoes I go up 1/2
Wow, what a review. Just tried my Jet Mach 3 yesterday. Almost tripped over the lateral side of my foot. Definitely have to lift my feet. I'm such a klutz, with just over two years since starting to play again after decades not.
The old Wilson Kaos are the best shoe I know! Wilson Kaos 3.0! Have you tested them?
Not for the channel just the rush pros
Hi Zach, I'm considering buying my first tennis shoes and my option is Adidas barricade, Asics ff court 2/Gel Resolution 8, and Babolat jet mach III. from these 4 options, which are your recommendation? or do you have a recommendation besides that options. ( i think the shoes need to have a good protector on the ankle, cause i broke my ankle a lot)

Hi...is the sizing similar to the jet mach's 2..or should i get a half size smaller ?
Same for me
Did you Order a half size larger than you normally wear
@@timwyrick1263 yes i did... 44 EU size with the jet mach's 2 and 44.5 EU size with the jet mach's 3 and it works fine
@@hakimraiss9508How would you compare the Mach3 sizing to Nike sizing? Is the same or should go half-size bigger with Mach3? Im usually Nike 44 so thinking whether I should pick 44 or 44,5 for Mach3 🤔
How is the forefoot cushioning on these doc? Thank you
Good , better than the 2’s - not as good as something like the GP turbo/ blushields
@@FootDoctorZach thank you. Should i go with the regular D width of the new wide version. I have a high arch but like a bit more room in the toe box. Thanks again for your great advice!
"Get on the tennis court, Shinji!"
Kinda random but I saw Delbonis wearing that shoe at Cincinnati and thought it looked cool
Yeah I was at that tournament too on Saturday and saw him in them- ridiculously comfortable
And little did Zach know, Djokovic actually beat Nadal
Yup- crazy match
On the Yonex question, you start by saying you’ve tried 3, but don’t mention which frames….their lines vary greatly in power and control,..the Vcore pro 97 310 is known as the most control oriented, low powered frame on the market…Vcore 98, and ezone have way more power
ua-cam.com/video/2qDpAEZWAPk/v-deo.html
My outsole on my right food wore out in 2 months of pickleball. Pathetic. I put way more time into my Mizuno Wave Tours and they lasted 6 months.
He's not gonna beat nadal on clay ? lol
