PLEASE help. I'm trying to use cicada wings just like that, but without a bezel, just in a mold yk? Any pressure added on one side will make it "bend" and the wing will come apart from the resin, and cause an air pocket and a terrible look. I've tried holding down the wing, putting thick layers, thin layers, doing it in layers flash curing or doing it all as one and curing. I am lost, and haven't seen anyone else have this problem. I clean the wings beforehand with alcohol, so they're not dirty.
I don't really know how to mold but have you tried putting a thing layer of resin over the cicada in sections and curing in between like mod podging the thing? Then putting it in the shape and pouring like in the video
I was just going to say encase the wing with resin. Or even what Olivia said a mod podging. Yes yes yes. Do that first. I have a video where I do that to a flower. I use a lot of layers but in am thinking you only need one layer. And let it cure or dry then put it in your mold
