I build a own scale ... also pour over coffee is one of my applications. No phone needed, recommended flow pattern from James Hoffmann is now programmed... so it shows when I should put next batch of water and also beeps when reached correct ammount. I also programmed a version for frenchpress coffee, a kitchen timer... and I plan to expand the possible applications. Next will be programming a recipee for pizza dough.
I assume you have to hit 'save' to keep any data? Would be nicer for food tracking if it saved all measurements and synced them once you open the app. Could have a history of the last n measurements from which you could select entries to save/share.

just try scale something many times like minute 2:34 but place it in different spot: center, 3 o'clock position, 6, 9 etc. See the result
