Unfortunately these days Akron is becoming better known for its defunct Rolling Acres mall which is the poster child for dead and abandoned malls. Why? Because Akron didn’t make sure to keep the mall from being vandalized after it closed. So now Akron is known for it. Whenever the news makes reference to dead malls or Someone searches for dead malls on UA-cam the Rolling Acres mall is mostly the first one that pops up. Way to go Akron.
Incorrect. There is still staff in Akron. The ABJ moved from 44. E. Exchange to 388 S. Main St. a few years ago. Printing stopped in Akron before that move.
Good video..... sadly a failed Democratic presence for the last 35ish years has Akron on the verge of bankruptcy. They continue to throw money (borrowed) away on things that do not benefit Akron.
I grew up in Firestone Park. It was a wonderful place and time (1960’s) to grow up. We moved out in 1969, but I still consider Akron my home.
Two words: Rotting. Acres. The most infamous abandoned mall in American history... #RIPRollingAcresMall

The Beacon Journal shut it doors and no longer does anything in Akron no staff, no printing.
