Absolutely love your sweater Anne. Really looks good on you, I’ve seen so many chickens around the web, great idea for Easter gifts for the grandchildren. Xxxx
Thanks so much 😊. Yes, I am sure once the third one is done, I won't want to see another blinkin chicken again ha ha
I laughed when you said ‘squirrel’ - you are slightly distractible 🤪 cue - emotional support chicken 🤣. I’m glad the Gideon method is working for you. I only have one project right now. No wips 🤷♀️. Mitred square blanket 😱 obsessed!!!!! I haven’t been using the schematic - the squares just seem to know where to go 🤷♀️. I am loving it! I am sorry to hear you son’s dog died. It’s SO hard making that decision. It’s too quick, feels too hard. Tell him we commiserate with him. Good luck on all the projects including cross stitch. I’d be crazy if I had all that ahead of me. See you around the YT and FB 👋 🤗
Thanks Isabel...always love reading your comments. Loving the Gideon Method, but man oh man....lots of new stuff I want to cast on!
Just found you because of the chicken! I am half ward one with mine and know I will make more!
Oh my goodness, they are so much fun to make! I know I will end up with more than 3 ha ha
Chickens! I just saw a few other people vlog about them. Cute idea you have to put them on nests with eggs. I am trying not to jump on that bandwagon even if I do have a friend who has chickens would probably love one. Yeah, I said trying not to jump. LOL Loved seeing all of your cross stitching. I used to do a lot of cross stitching years and years ago but recently have started doing a little piece. It gives my wrists a change especially from crocheting. Love your new sock design. I have not tried knitting socks yet although it is something that I want to do. I am afraid that fitting my foot/leg will be difficult and pulling out stitches or the beginnings of a sock just kinda makes me sad when I think about it. I will get over it one of these days though I would guess. ☺ Have a lovely rest of your week!
Thanks Deb, yes lots of those chickens about, even some crocheted. I love my cross stitch....its so relaxing.
I love your nail polish. Matches your sweater. 🙂 Love the chickens.
Thank you! 😊. Nail wraps from Lilly and Fox!!
Love your pemberton sweater and the purple one you are wearing! I agree on socks! I can’t go fast with my knitting all the time either.
I can’t wait to work on it again in this rotation…poor Bobs been waiting so long for it. The purple one is just store bought, but it’s so comfy.
Just found your videos you are so funny and inspiring. Love the animal cross stitches and we too have a Tristen in our family. He is now 18 yrs.
Thank you so much! So happy you popped in. I am loving getting back to my cross stitch again....wait till you see my progress next week!
The cross stitches look amazing 😍 I also fell down the chicken rabbit hole 🤣 fun aren't they! Aw sending love to your son and family what a terrible decision to have to make but he did the right thing ❤️ the new sock pattern is fabulous! Xx
OOh thanks so much Alex! Bet you have some lovely yarn you could use for them ha ha. Just watching your February Vlogs...man I love popping to see what your up to each day. Like being a fly ha ha
I keep seeing the emotional support chickens and I think I need one or 3. Loved the socks and frosted yarn
Thanks Julie....it is a quick knit and thankfully worsted weight yarn.
Hi, I'm a new subscriber. I was drawn to your podcast when I saw your chicken, and then while watching it, you mentioned a certain mitred square obsession. 😊 I, too, am also a mitred square addict as I make mitred square baby blankets for my friends and family. I look forward to catching up with you. Thank you from a very chilly U.K.
Lovely to have you here Valerie!! The chickens were certainly a big hit.
If you don't get on with the 2.5mm zing circulars you really need to get more chiaogoos, they are so much nicer to use. Worth the extra cash
I have a 2.25 in Chiagoos....still can't get used to them.
I'm making a chicken too! Yours looks fabulous. I use 10-inch Addi needles for all my socks, that extra inch makes all the difference. Can't use 9-inch at all. And yes, they are pricey.
OOh didn't know that did 10"....I will look for those, thanks!!
Love the blanket! Ass over teakettle comment made me laugh! I haven’t been back to the uk since 1986 and doubt I will be able to again, but I loved my time in chipping Norton.
It’s so funny…I didn’t even realize I said it ha ha.
The dip stitches are great! And after you have done the first dip stitch row, they are much faster. And you do stocking stitch for 4 rows. You dip5 for 1 row and purl 2 together for row 6 to get back to the original number of stitches, so there is only 1 big row for every 6 rows/1 stripe. And it is such a cool effect. You really need to try it.
Nah....maybe on something smaller at some time...but I really think I will do want to try a crochet border. I just am too impatient and want it finished.
@@Tobyknits Why don’t you try 2-3 rows of it and then finish it off in crochet. That way, if you realize that you like it and it isn’t as slow as you thought, you can continue.
Love your new sock pattern! Was so excited, when I heard the name because the yarn I want to knit my February socks with is "Baby It's Cold Outside" dyed by Anna Knitter. Your pattern is going to be perfect for her yarn!
Wonderful! Ohhh I would love to see it all knit up in that yarn!
Hi Anne, love the chicken and wonderful sweater. See you Thursday, the make along is for either knitted or crochet shawls. Hugs ❤❤❤
Hows your shawl going, mine is such fun to knit! As are the chickens..number 2 almost finished
@@Tobyknits I am about half way through the shawl now, how is yours going. Hugs xxx
I love your podcast. I love your blanket and your chicken. Those are two of the things I’d like to make. However I have a question for you. I see this with a lot of podcasters . Don’t you have problems with moths with all your uncovered yarn. Or do you treat it with something?
No, I have never had any problems with Moths. I am not even sure I see that many in or around our house. I see some podcasters do put their yarn in organza bags…?? Thanks for watching!!
Just found your channel and I love it! You're so talented
Thank you so much!! Years and years of practice ha ha
I hope you enjoy the Karbonz double points they are my go-to for sock heels, and I use either majic loop or 9" cir"ulars. I find that im faster with 9" circulars, but i did have to qork with them awhile and still do my heels with DPNs. Found your podcast by searching on the chicken. I bought the pattern but haven't started ot yet. I'd love to participate in zoom knit along.
OOh I am thrilled you stopped by...stay!! I am loving the Karbonz needle, they are so light and I am getting used to the join at the tips. Still have not got back to the 9" circulars yet.
I like the cross stitching part and hate the back stitching. It’s like sewing a garment. I like the piecing together (haven’t sewn in 20 years, but when I did), but I hate the hemming. I hate tucking ends in my knitting too.
Oh I am with you on the hemming, my least favourite part too. I just feel like the backstitch brings the image to life more.
@@Tobyknits It does. I always like it after it’s done!
I'm almost finished my first chicken - how much fun are they and such a great stashbuster
I know right!! Imagine all the different colours you can do them in too!
I’m so happy I found you here on UA-cam! I’m hoping to get your newsletter, but am having trouble finding where to sign up on your blog-thanks for any help you can offer!
Oh no! You should see a pop up appear on the blog page, which directs you to sign up. I think on the side bar of the blog page there may be a newsletter link. Hope you find it okay
@@Tobyknits I finally had success using my phone. I was previously trying with an iPad which must be too old 🤷🏼♀️Thanks for your reply!
On It's a Sarah podcast she made her mitre blanket into a cushion - you might like that
Thanks....yes its where I got the idea to make one of the mitred square blankets into a cushion....but have since changed my mind! Stay tuned.
I've come over on the recommendation of MemilyMakes.
Oooh lovely, glad you are here!!
Maybe a name for your emotional support chicken : chick-a-roo
No doubt Leo will name him something. I will let you know what later this month.
I'm looking forward to seeing all the chickens. You seem to make a lot of progress with twelve hours per project. Are there others who watch you live but can't comment on the chat or am I the only one who has an old phone that doesn't show the chat?
Yes I am loving the progress made with the twelve hour projects! I will look into the comments on the chat, it could be I need to push another button at this end! Technology!
It's probably because I have an old phone but I was just wondering.
cutest! Toby should get to play ball ;D
Thanks but not while I am recording....no one needs to see me run after him ha ha.
great video, you have so many projects too!? I thought i was bad with mine, but i only have 7 on the go; some i can't get too as we're renovating & those are under boxes of stuff lol
loved the FB page where one of the ladies Mitre square has different sizes which i think i'll try on mine too
do you really sit for 12hrs to knit one project or do you break the time up?
sorry to hear about your sons dog, that was very sad but at least she's no longer suffering
thanx for sharing
Thanks Selina, he is getting over it now. Too busy with the kids ha ha. No I don't sit for a straight twelve hours....I set a timer on my phone for 12 hours and every time I sit to work on that project (which is not always every evening) I restart the timer. Once the 12 hours is up....I put away that particular project and get out the next. I usually knit for 3 hours per evening.
I would love a copy of your planner pdf but just read on your website you’re having issues with your newsletter. Please help 😊
If you join my Tobyknits and Friends facebook group, I am going to put it in the files. Or email me at baashunt@gmail.com and I will send it you.
@@Tobyknits thank you. I'll join your FB group.
I'm wondering if the original designer realizes that all chickens have 2 wattles not 1.
You should try knitting a Stitch in Time blanket.
OOh I didn't know that. I did attempt the Stitch In Time blanket, but gave up.
Well considering that I'm not sure what a "wattle" is, maybe not. I didn't see a live chicken until I was 7. I think that was the last time as well. Chalk it up to artistic license.
