I have one of these and it becomes useless after a year. During the year it was working, it did not have enough internal storage to hold updates, and storage is not expandable, so I always had to do a complete factory refresh when it was full. NO ONE sells the subscription card required for updates after the free first year, and it will not have its premium functions unless you update. I have exhausted all resources trying to get this subscription card, but the sellers on eBay and Amazon do not help or even communicate. LAUNCH Tech USA told me they cannot help me since it is not a US marketplace model. Contacting the China / EU division, they tell me they cannot help with items purchased on Amazon or eBay and I have to go through my seller. They were very assertive about that. These scammers are selling LAUNCH devices with warranties that cannot be claimed and they know it. Now I'm sitting here with a $300 paperweight.
I find out, diagnostic scan and obd2(jobd and eobd),are two different scan,diagnostuc scan is the one usually use cheap one like 479 only can scan engine,429 only 4 thing srs abs engine and transmission,they are not full system scan,you can buy a JDiag M2 to do the full system wireless scan,about a$35,and if you work on car,buy the 479 have 15 reset for doing work,427 only 11 reset,obd2 scan just scan emission control.
I have the MD808 PRO. The CRP 429 is a lot user friendly. The additional buttons make navigating the system a lot easier. Has a problem with the cable connection and so had it exchanged wi a new unit (It appears that communications canles are machine dependant abd can be very expensive.)

Unfortunately these are not sold by or supported by Launch Tech USA per launch tech USA. They are a Chinese knock off. My CRP 129 gave me fault codes for my SRS light on 03 CRV that were completed wrong for the fault.
429 and 479 the different are,scan functions 429 is 4 items,479 only 2,need to know still 429 only 4, not all,but 479 can do all the 15 reset 429 only 11 reset,mean if you working like air suspsenion ,so you want tofull scan. still need to buy pro.
Tool only work on read and clear codes. Special functions are not really working...you wont get help/support..manufacturer will make alot of excuses when having problem with tool function.. Dont buy the tool..waste of money
