- Amir John Haddad played this "Bulerías" in may 2011, during a recording session for the website of Mundo Flamenco. He plays a "Gerundino" cypress with top of cedar guitar from 1971. This guitar was owned for many years by Mariano Martin.

Amirs father is from Palestine and his mother from Colombia. He grew up in germany and lives since 15 years in Madrid, spain. The arabian lute (Ud) he learned from his father and the flamenco guitar he began to play with 7 years.

I am not sure how there could be confusion. But this is 100% Bulerias. The difference from the more common Bulerias is the key is in Re Major & this style is typical of the Bulerias de Jerez. Moraito played a Bulerias in the same key & this one even has a hint of the melody from that song. I think Amir created an outstanding piece of music!!! Bravo!!!!
sehr schöne Komposition,..frisch und überhaupt nicht langweilig. ein wirklicher Meister mit viel GEFÜHL in den Fingern,.. einer Gerundino würdig.

Muy bueno!!! Increíble que buena técnica!!! Cambios muy buenos, rasgueo....lo que parece en algún momento se pierde el compás para no fallar, creo se debe cometer el fallo pero nunca olvidar el compás.
Die Aufnahme ist fertig, aber das Booklet ist noch viel Arbeit und die Promotion in Spanien muss auch mindesten 2-3 Monate Vorlauf haben. Wir haben Februar für die Veröffentlichung anvisiert, werden aber hier im Channel vor Jahresende noch ein paar Videoclips mit Ausschnitten aus der CD veröffentlichen.

If you know that this is not a Bulerías, can you tell me what it is? The rhythm is 3/4 and 6/8. What else then a Bulerías could it be?
As someone who is trying to be self taught, is it possible to learn flamenco? and how would one go about it?
SWIFTzTrigger there are many methods available by many masters which you can purchase, if you have the necessary time available (which is a lot of time for regular practice) listen and watch a lot of flamenco and take it one step at a time learning the different techniques and the repertoire

Las "Bulerías" se caracterizan (se lo escuché de un maestro de guitarra flamenca y porque así yo lo entiendo y lo siento) por ser un toque con mucho ritmo, inspiración y excitación, a tal punto que al oyente le dan ganas de saltar de su asiento de pura emoción. Esta "Bulerías" de Amir no me llegó, me dejó frío. Mas bien parece una música lejana, nostálgica, falta de emoción. Como música nueva puede ser, pero como "Bulerías" no.
Ésto está en afinación rondeña, no?

It's not just Spanish you fool and all your real flemenco is in the south where the Moroccan / Spanish Gypsys play and are the best , flemenco was gypsy trad originally so stfu and sit down

Muy bueno, es increíblemente bueno, pero sigo sin entender por qué los guitarristas modernos no hace el commpás y estribillo de bulería, por qué no rasguean, etc. Para mí pierde todo el sentido.
En realidad las bulerías son libres, pero si, tienes toda la razón. Digamos que lo hacen por innovar y enriquecer, pero a mí personalmente me gusta más eso que has precisado. Un saludo.
