This was one of my favorite bristol races. :) RIP the old bristol configuration. Bruton Smith killed this track by grinding that top groove. You'll never see the grandstands that full at Bristol again...
I know. I remember after the race Carl was saying "there was a second where I thought of letting off but then I thought 'would he do this to me?' And the answer I got in my head was 'yes' so thats why I nudged him a little bit but he can whine all he wants everyone knows its expected." Lol but I was at the race in Fontana, California right after this and everyone was looking forward for some grudge match type stuff but nothing ended up happening. Jimmie Johnson owned the field and laped circles around everyone but nevertheless it was a good fun race to be at. I enjoyed myself. Only been to 2 races and Jimmie Johnson won both times lol btw he was dominant over that 5 year period, nobody was close. My favorite driver was Edwards and Kasey Khane but they never really had too much shine for very long.
My dad picked a perfect race to take me to my first nascar race. I'd only been to local dirt ovals a few hundred times before that and was amazed at how big this stuff can actually get. I loved the end when carl spun kyle for his shitty act after the race. Couldn't believe I got to witness that.
This is why I love Carl. He's the master of racing AND class. Keeps his poise through Kyle's retaliation and does the right thing to get him back. Go Carl 99!
I drive big bloc modified modified for years had a great career with great drivers around I have never seen so much dirty drive like nascar . Thank You .
At the 5:40 minute mark you can see me over Carl's right shoulder. I am the tall crew member wearing the victory lane hat... LOL I forgot about this youtube video... lol
The most exciting track became the most boring track. It's like Fontana and Chicago lands younger brother. Long runs, cautions at the end and somehow a debris caution right before the green flag pit stop sequence would start.
So true about the 50's 60's and 70's, marvelous cars. It actually was my sisters toyota camry '07ish and every time I was in it I was afraid it was going to break down at any second. Then it did. One thing I will say about ALL new cars is I will never own one, way too much stuff to go wrong in them. I'm not a Ford fan, the last one my brother was forced to drive it stalled every time we put it into reverse. I don't know, I guess every Chevy I've driven it's been a damn fine vehicle.
to be honest, they are all race cars, and its pretty cool to have foreign cars in Nascar. its like eating pizza here in the u.s.a. while it was made in italy.
"One thing is a given. You either commit yourself as a professional racing driver, that is designed to win races or you come 2nd or you come 3rd or you come 5th. And I'm not designed to come in, 3rd, 4th or 5th. I race to win. And if you no longer go for a gap that exists, you're no longer a racing driver" Ayrton Senna, 3-time Formula 1 Champion.
I don't know what kind of Japanese car you bought, but every one I've owned ran flawlessly and reliably past 250k. Don't get me wrong though, US cars are just as good as any Japanese car nowadays. Not to mention there isn't a single car in the world that can match the beautiful machines we made in the 50's, 60's, and 70's. My first vehicle I ever bought was a 1969 Ford F100; beautiful machine that still runs and is used by my dad as a daily driver. Pleasure to work on too.
@SuperBen37 thats an awful thing to say, earnhardt wasnt a damn f1 driver he actually raced and if u were in his way u got moved thats the way it is in nascar and to say carl was racing dirty is ignorant, hell i bet kyle has done that exact move 100 times to other people... they always used to say about nascar at short tracks if your chrome horn was tore up you were racing but if your rear bumper was tore up you were in the way
I was at the race right after this in Auto club Speedway in Fontana, California and everyone was so hyped for some good old grudge match racing but Jimmie Johnson ended up leading pretty much from lap 1 onward and i thought Kyle and Carl would have some interesting exchanges at leadt but they stayed out of each other's way and the field was kinda keeping them separated on purpose but I honestly think they took the restrictor plate off Jimmie's car that day because he was trouncing everyone and it wasnt even close lol.
Hey you guys at toyota why did you put a transmission in the corrolla thats for a gocart one of the best selling cars in the world? I was going to buy another one but not this year!
yeah it is, however, it is still good, and im just trying to prove that no matter where toyotas come from, they are still in nascar and are probably here to stay.
I agree. He could end up luck his brother. Look at Kurt raced with Rousch until 2005 when he got a ticket for something. Got released. 6 years later gets released from Penske for mouthing off too much. One of these days Gibbs is gonna say enough and Kyle is gonna be hurtin
well i'm sorry that i don't look up some no-lifes calculations on the old points system. i'm going with tony stewart on this one, it's not the old system so why do you even bring it up, we haven't used that system in 6 years.
No because if they hadn't changed the points, all of the teams would have approached the races differently and they would likely have had very different outcomes. If there was no Chase, teams wouldn't experiment with different setups near the end of the regular season, etc.
@lbennie I'm Australian, I love Nascar, and I believe you are right. Payback is childish and this sort of thing damages Nascar. I wish they were more mature then this and kept the attitudes out of the sport. I want racing not whining and grudges. May as well lit housewives drive if is gonna come to this. Actually if this happened in V8 Supercars down here they would be fined for bringing the sport into disrepute.
every racer whines and gets pissed. its not just kyle busch. the worst of them all is jeff gordon. But i gotta say, i miss The Intimidator Dale Earnhardt Sr.
God I miss Carl. Those backflips will live in NASCAR history!
I was there. Happened right in front of me. The whole crowd cheered after Carl spun Bush at the end. Priceless!!!
sTeV-O sdw Anytime Kyle gets spun or wrecked is priceless!!
I was there too! Right past turn 2. The Bristol night race is the weekend of my birthday (Aug 22) so this is my favorite race to go to.
I was there too! Great race better ending! Kryle is such a douchebag crybaby. He knows full well, he'd do the same damn thing to win.
This was one of my favorite bristol races. :) RIP the old bristol configuration. Bruton Smith killed this track by grinding that top groove. You'll never see the grandstands that full at Bristol again...

This was the new configuration
Whoever changed the track should be shot, look at the fucking grandstands nowadays, just embarrassing
Nathan Laymon you couldn’t be more right!
Damn I miss Carl Edwards in nascar
Same
Gonna miss seeing him race!
Went to this very race a year ago. Going to it again this year, and hope to see a repeat of this.
Kyle Busch somehow doesn't know the word "sportsmanship".
Card made a clean pass and the bump n' run which is legal. Congrats, Carl!
My dad picked a perfect race to take me to my first nascar race. I'd only been to local dirt ovals a few hundred times before that and was amazed at how big this stuff can actually get. I loved the end when carl spun kyle for his shitty act after the race. Couldn't believe I got to witness that.
you could tell he cried during the interview, kyle just can't lose graciously
thank you, Carl Edwards
This is why I love Carl. He's the master of racing AND class. Keeps his poise through Kyle's retaliation and does the right thing to get him back. Go Carl 99!
I drive big bloc modified modified for years had a great career with great drivers around I have never seen so much dirty drive like nascar . Thank You .
The last time we will ever see this at Bristol.
I love how Edwards was like, spin bitch get out my way
Another great Bristol for the archives!
At the 5:40 minute mark you can see me over Carl's right shoulder. I am the tall crew member wearing the victory lane hat... LOL I forgot about this youtube video... lol
Do u still work for race a team now days?
I was there for this when I was like 12 with my dad. Great memory to see kyle bush get spun out post race.
I see you.
any one remembers what busch did to jr @ richmond? well, when it really counts, who is the one that gets denied a victory? GO JR AND CARL!!!!!
12 years later Kyle Busch has 2 cup champion ships and more than 50 wins. The other 2 retired early with 0 championships.
Carl Edwards is now my 2nd favorite driver now. Jr. is still No. 1 for me.
KY is just mad that Carl passed him and when he tried the exact same move, he failed.
when someone spins kyle: It is not cool to do that to someone
when Kyle spins someone: It's racing!
Clearly you don’t know how the world works
The only moment reflecting Bristol's past since the track was nuetered with an extra groove.
This was the last true bump and run at Bristol. Now they all ride at the top and nobody can pass on the inside.
The most exciting track became the most boring track. It's like Fontana and Chicago lands younger brother. Long runs, cautions at the end and somehow a debris caution right before the green flag pit stop sequence would start.
The best Kyle Busch moment in history 😂😂
Kyle Busch starts slamming into Carl's side a Carl says in his head,"Not cool man!" and turns him.
awesome carl vs kyle
i went to this race. Amazing finish
These two are teammates now. Lol
Ryan Wile Carl retired though
thanks to NASCAR
Go Bucks!
I love bristol... most exciting track in nascar
So true about the 50's 60's and 70's, marvelous cars. It actually was my sisters toyota camry '07ish and every time I was in it I was afraid it was going to break down at any second. Then it did. Good logic from Carl Edwards. Do to others as they would do to you
Who would've thought one day they'd be teammates for a brief time?
At least Carl was honest about what he did....
Ok I forgive carl
to be honest, they are all race cars, and its pretty cool to have foreign cars in Nascar. its like eating pizza here in the u.s.a. while it was made in italy.
"One thing is a given. You either commit yourself as a professional racing driver, that is designed to win races or you come 2nd or you come 3rd or you come 5th. Not a Carl Edwards fan but im a fan of anyone who spins out Kyle Busch.
CARL EDWARDS BEFORE THE WRECK "get the (expletive) out of the way"
nice one
He's got the #2 curse this year.
Tony Stewart said we don't use the old points system so its not worth talking about.
6:08 Suprise flying hat XD
kyle bush has come a long ways he is one of the best drivers now
I can't stand either Carl or Kyle, but I think that night every fan, regardless of what driver is their favorite, cheered for Carl that night.
Awesome
Kyle Busch accusing someone of bumping is one of the most hypocritical things I've ever heard. They don't call him Dirty Kyle for nothing.
Wow. I miss this kind of racing. Now you have cars strung out and whiners who can't take hard racing and rather solve it by throwing down
I don't know what kind of Japanese car you bought, but every one I've owned ran flawlessly and reliably past 250k.
Don't get me wrong though, US cars are just as good as any Japanese car nowadays. Kyle Busch needs to learn to let things go he's lucky he still has a ride after the events in the truck series.
lol i remember i saw this live
@SuperBen37 thats an awful thing to say, earnhardt wasnt a damn f1 driver he actually raced and if u were in his way u got moved thats the way it is in nascar and to say carl was racing dirty is ignorant, hell i bet kyle has done that exact move 100 times to other people... they always used to say about nascar at short tracks if your chrome horn was tore up you were racing but if your rear bumper was tore up you were in the way
Kyle " can dish it out but can't handle receiving it " busch.
You gotta give respect to get respect
That's why he is racing in the peewee leagues now an Kyle in still winning on the big level
yeah! they're teammates now!!! love those guys
But carl started pushing his teammates away and only cared about himself and then carl quit
Never liked either of them, but now I respect Busch more.
6:10 dude behind Carl gets hit in the face lol
Hey you guys at toyota why did you put a transmission in the corrolla thats for a gocart one of the best selling cars in the world? I was going to buy another one but not this year!
Wow Kyle Busch is acting like no ones ever made a bump and run at bristol.
I'm going there 2013 same day published!
Amen to that!
no jr isn't a douche bag, he the greatest driver to ever fill the seat of a race car.
Damn look at those stands.
Carl Edwards is a true racer who dosen't complain when he is racing, not driveing!
Then explain when he crashed in the 2016 race he quit the next year?
"Mr. Ed like"... ha-ha Kyle says what he is allowed to say. Now they are teammates, nothing has changed.
yeah it is, however, it is still good, and im just trying to prove that no matter where toyotas come from, they are still in nascar and are probably here to stay.

Dale sr. sticks middle finger flashbacks
well i'm sorry that i don't look up some no-lifes calculations on the old points system. i'm going with tony stewart on this one, it's not the old system so why do you even bring it up, we haven't used that system in 6 years.

im a kyle fan but that was in appropriate
How?
THE PROBLEM WITH KYLE IS THAT HE IS KINDA IMMATURE, WHEN HE CANT OVERTAKE YOU HE'LL TAKE YOU.
btw......i hate the Carl says "AFLAC" lmao!!
Lol
Carl was a great racer, made a smart move leaving Nascar ,when he did. Before the FALL.
"GOD DAMN IT DENNY GET THE HELL OUTA HERE!!" -probably kyle bush at Bristol 2008
come on this is bristol in bristol have a lot of contacts
Miss you Carl
Carl was faster. Kyle had no reason to be upset. He only had 30 laps to catch him lol and he couldnt do it.
You figured the acceleration would just keep going on that Toyota that Kyle Busch was driving. Maybe his brakes went out too.
HAVE YOU HEARD THE BUMP AND RUN
The Bristol move
It's thirteen years later, and #Kryle *STILL* whines when drivers don't let him get away with his bullshit. The boy needs to grow the hell up!!!!!
Now he would have said that if that was Dale EArnhardt!! Thats Racin Boys!!
same thing this year at Richmond
Was Kyle crying?
thats racing at bristol.....enough said
Busch haters...thou shalt love thy neighbor; give respect for the 18.
Had NASCAR kept the cars and the points the same nobody really knows who would win.
Every sport needs a douchebag. Thanks for filling the position Kyle!
How tragic to have a car thats actually made in America be represented rather than the shit ass "American" brands that aren't even made there.
Dale Jarret " Thats racing at Bristol " Maybe Kyle should listen to him a little more :)
@chaddingy Spencer beat in Kurt Busch, but I agree he should probably smack Kyle as well. Might wake him up a bit.
it's not a fact it's an opinion, you don't know who would have won
I KNOW RIGHT
7 people like Kyle Busch.
Make that 8 me
yea jr best damn thing out there, i mean look at his winning record.
2:47 lucky Carl got his hand out of the way
every racer whines and gets pissed. its not just kyle busch. the worst of them all is jeff gordon. But i gotta say, i miss The Intimidator Dale Earnhardt Sr.
@chaddingy That was Kurt Busch not Kyle but I agree, I wish he would find his modern day Spenser just like his brother did.
4:49 he's crying.
Ha, got me a chuckle
Unless Kyle does it then its dirty.
Yoo yoo
