      As per Ayurveda, a combination of milk with onion is considered as Viruddh Aahar (not edible food) which produces toxins and can cause skin diseases!

    I have been making chaddannam instead of overnight soaked oats and it’s so much more better . My gut can feel the difference . I have also tried adding cucumber and carrots to it .

    Is it ok to add onion .. I mean for 8 hrs.. Bcs i hv heard u should consume onion just after cutting it otherwise oxidation make it Poisionas.. Is it true.. Pls explain

    In odisha we call it pakhala and celebrated as pakhala day. In jagannath temple during summer pakhala is offered to the deity.

    Yes, modern fermented rice with curd, green chilies, onion pieces will be so great and delicious when you eat in the morning instead of Dosa, Idlies, chutney and sambar.
    But, look back the days when poor people ferment the left over rice and eat with just plain water and salt as breakfast. In those days parents couldn’t afford making idli or dosa, and the children were crying for those delicious idly or dosa.
    So do not just praise the modern fermented rice but praise those who lived their lives with simple “Chaddi Annam”. 🤷🏻‍♂️

      Counter. At warm space. Just like a baking dough containing yeast. However curd needs more time for the chemical reaction as compared to yeast.

    This is a superbly simple, healthy, delicious recipe. But why pour water over the rice, why not just add milk? Adding water made the dish watery rather than mushy.

    Fermented rice is really good. But with as little salt as possible and without pickle. Salt & pickle both will increase BP and not be good for the kidney.
