I just purchased a SBA3 for a pistol build and I am glad that I found this video. I have never heard of the split fix, but I will definitely be getting one.
I have a BCG rifle and love it. I didn't know anything about Triarc (even though I live less than an hour from them) but saw TSR-15 8.3" at a local gun shop. I could see and feel the quality so I bought it. Mine has the black/grey camo which is very different and cool. I LOVE this gun. Shoots great.
My main squeeze is my 20" Gov't BCM "M16A4" build. She is plain Jane; Windham A2 handguards, carry handle and UTG A2 stock. The only modern enhancements are a Magpul K2 pistol grip, an ambi selector (want to get an ambi mag release and CH too) and lastly a Streamlight HL-X mounted directly to my A2 handguard with an IWC TMC mount. It's a very nice mount actually. Great if you just need to throw a light on a basic rifle with no rail system. It's my only firearm at the moment but I am working on my 10" AR pistol build that will be my new bedside rifle.
Just placed an order for that rail, building on a ADM set with a 10.5 Criterion barrel. Purpose of the gun will be a travel pistol that can fit in a pack.
I feel like 10.5s were popular for a while with the mk18 and whatnot, then 11.5s and 12.5s became the new big thing because dwell time and "do it all" purposes. And now lately I feel like ive been seeing a lot more 10.5s around both online and at the range/classes. Might just be my perception but seems like 10.5s are making a comeback in popularity.
personally, 10.5 is the sweet spot for a pistol. compact build. 11.5 fine, but when you start getting to 12.5 a 14.5 pinned starts looking better. its a rifle so you can run whatever stock you want, and its only slightly longer than a 12.5" if you want short go short, if you want all around capability, go with a compact rifle. just my $.02 ,full disc i own a 10.5 and a 16". if i didnt already have the 16 id probably build a 14.5.
Just run a quality heavy (70gr+) and you're lethal out to 300 yards all day. We can't get authentic MK262 (the cartridge designed for the MK18) because the manufacturer uses a proprietary powder blend, but there are plenty of good powders available. The bullet is a 77gr Sierra Match King BTHP.

I just purchased an Adams arms 14 1/2 inch barrel piston driven AR 15 pistol with a sigsauer brace. And I like your set up. Going to have to figure out how to set mine up for what my intended uses are going to be. If for some reason our unconstitutional government does away with the pistol brace I’ll just SBR the rifle....
Do you know what diameter your BARREL is . I'm curious what Triarc considers HBAR. Is it 0.750 diameter all the way though or is it more like a SOCOM. Either way that's a sweet rig for sure
Planning on picking up a Triarch. Trying to decide between the 10.5, 12.5, or 13.9 pinned. What would you reccomend? I have a 16 inch and a 10.5 inch that I love. I run a suppressor 50% of the time. Thanks!
Hey, awesome video! I had a question, do you just switch the lead over from the bus laser override to the regular port on the DBAL a3 when you go night vision? I just got a DBAL a3 and trying to determine my setup with my okw light.
Nah I don’t mess with it. If you want the override I suggest take the single tape switch that came with it and put it somewhere you can activate it and the white light at the same time like the side of the rail or bottomw
Geissele also makes a great rifle even though they've had their struggles moving everything in house. You can find them easily on primary arms if you subscribe to notifications.
Any opinion on the surefire enhanced bcg set up. For shorty rigs like yours it seams to be the optimum bolt buffer and spring combo but that’s just with my limited use with one and the info I’ve read.
SBR= $200 tax stamp, interstate travel restrictions, government all up in your business. pistol brace= Whatev's boo. just don't add a vert grip under 26" OAL.
I have seen both 10.3" and 10.5" barrel setups for the Triarc sbr that are allegedly branded as a "10.5". After getting the triarc 9.5" rail (which actually are a tad shorter then 9.5") You can easily see this .2" difference if you are a builder. How do you know if you get a 10.5" or 10.3" barrel? Can you call them and ask or is this just a supply thing that they had some 10.3" barrels and branded them as 10.5" or what? And yes, I am a nerd, and a very demanding customer lol
Hearing all of the bad talk about Triarc on reddit and forums makes me hesitant. The false lead times they put out. The broken website. Everything is outsourced. Looks like it's more of an IG marketing company than a rifle company. Stick a Micro MOA barrel on any upper, use a vltor A5 system, a wedge lock rail and bam, you have yourself a Triarc without the rollmark. Their 2011 however is something I'm definitely interested in.
@Eric M Guns actually, because pistols are inherently lighter, each additional ounces makes a larger difference. even though its still relatively light, it feels much heavier.
Heavy barrels heat up slower, so the accuracy is retained longer; also heavy barrels don’t flex as much when heated up. Pencil barrels cool quicker, but also heat up quicker.

On my sba3 I fold the corners up into the arm hole and use the strap to keep them there to reduce size and make it sturdier.

I don’t think they ever went away especially in the LE/MIL sphere but I think with everything going on people are looking for shorter guns again

I went from 10.5 to 13.7 because I realized the three inches wasn't that hard to maneuver in cqb classes but I also wanted to reach out.

Running a 2015 mk18 from DD with a gas port of....... .86! YUGE. Debating on replacing it with a 10.5 from Triarc. Worth the upgrade??

I want a Triarc so bad but I can’t wait until 2021 😭 Stuck between a Mk18, Geissele Super Duty 11.5”, or a BCM 11.5”.
MK18 all day everyday. Once you burn the barrel out you can step up to an 11.5 without it looking goofy.

Yes the heat is a big factor but honestly because that’s what it was built out with and didn’t see a need to change it

Get a barrel with a smaller gas port size, tune it properly, invest in quality parts since shorter guns are harder on moving parts
