ShyguyMask's video is a good example.
Shyguymask beat the game with just 2 seed slots and it took him an entire day of RNG resetting to beat 3-4, and couldn’t even beat it without using savestates. I don’t blame you, it’s literal hell

8:16 Why not stick to Starfruit? They excel at taking out Pogo zombies once you get a couple of them in the lane. And you still get a slot left for Squash or Doom-shroom since Starfruit can just defend the pool without lily pads.

Isn't speedrunning pvz fun if your playing by yourself too? Considering that tower defense games are relatively slow its honestly best to speedrun.
@@alargeredlizard3003 well plants vs zombies isnt really a "speedrun" game and it also is 3 hours or longer if you're beating the whole game. every game can have a speedrun but speedrunning a game that will take you 3 hours does get boring.

I really love watching speedruns especially urs does anyone have some tips to get started on speedrunning myself?
Search up speedrun guides for a game you like and practice the route/methods in the video. Don't get discouraged if your time is bad with your first serious attempt since it usually takes 2-3 serious runs to get an accurate time
look up guides or just speedruns themselves for the game you want to speedrun and practice, like alot, i've been speedrunning hollow knight alot recently and have not submitted a run yet because i am going for top 50 >:3
As someone who (never) did a speedrun, I recommend training a lot and searching for hardcore strategies

Kill zombies quickly,the faster you kill them the faster the level goes

Wonderful video! Maybe try speedrunning Don't Escape? I haven't seen many people speedrun any older games like it.
I really vividly remember playing a game called don't escape in year 6 but I can't remember anything about itt
That’s the Werewolf one, I think.
Werewolf, Zombie, Space Parasite, World Ending Disaster are 1,2,3,4 respectively if I remember correctly.
Amazing vid! Just decided to get back on this the other day.. and tried my luck actually at a 3 seed slot / no death run (not a speedrun or anything) and I actually beat it! Which felt very fulfilling. Interestingly enough, you tried some other strategies that would’ve been more efficient, which I guess I didn’t think to use. As I wasn’t going for a speedrun or anything, I kinda relied on snow peas/repeaters for a bit. And threepeaters a bit in pool. Also, the cactus strat saved me quite alot but had close calls in 4-4 and 4-8, and 4-9 was really stressful with these parameters. But luckily, as rng would have it, I didn’t die through the entire run! 3 seed slots is no joke.. can’t imagine 2 :/
2 seeds slots HAS been done before, with some *insanely required* RNG in the pool section, being I think 4-7 or 4-8.

PVZ Speedrunners: USE THE LAWNMOWERS
I love how the second most useful plant is puff shroom, only second to sunflower
Play the sunflowers in front of your attackers, sunflowers are more replaceable and because of this you should put them closer to the zombies so that if something dies you only lose 25-50 suns worth rather than 100+ suns worth as well as a defensive piece
ShyGuyMask beats the game with only 2 slots.
EasySpeezy beat this game with 3 slots and also speedrunning it.

3 slots is easy compared to 3-4 2 slots
Don't forget about 660nj, 660nj has beat Plants vs Zombies 2 with only 2 seed slots (and without grinding, spending coin or real money)

@ItsPforPea I know right I prefer the good old days of them giving keys and telling you unlock whatever works for you. There would be like multiple per a world too.

A tactic I would've used for the fog section of the game is to just fill the pool with Tangle Kelp early on in the game so that cooldown isn't a problem later on in the level and saves money with having to put down lily pads and cacti down

Yes those mini games every 5 and 10 levels are olso supposed to be played by the rules, with only 3 slots, i mean that the only reason this challenge is difficult.

@@upisntdownsilly I know I am late, but sun production is way more important in PvZ1 than PvZ2, since you get less sun in PvZ1. Also, Sunflower recharge is longer in 1 than 2.

i still remember this one person i am still infuriated by, his general strategy for playing plants vs zombies was,

*placing the sunflowers in front of his peashooters*
That is actually a very good strategy for experience play, using your sunflowers as meat shields do your attacking plants have more time to attack, plus sunflowers are only 50 sun, so it's worth it

As I attempted this challenge, I put an extra handicap: only 3 different plants on conveyor belt levels
