Easily one of my most favorite firearms that’s been released in a long time. Also, the gas pressure is the way it is, to prevent the most common AK jam. And it works extremely well.

@@darnit1944 Galil was designed to have a built in bottle opener, I shit you not, the thing is: Israeli army is not a regular army, but more like a millitia, all of the soldiers are reservists who finished their 2-3 year mandatory conscription service, not rough heavily trained serious soldiers, they don't really give a shit, they just wanna go home.
Back in the day before the Galil, soldiers used to buy drinks from the base's kiosk (cause even though the standard idf soldier's salary is $130 a month, the military still tried to scam the soldiers for whatever money they had) and open them with the magazines, which harmed the magazine, it bent it's lips and stuff, and since the IDF was always pretty limited, they decided that instead of buying more and more magazines, they'd just add a built in bottle opener, so the soldiers wouldn't use the magazines

@@709mash SAR-21 with heavy barrel and angled grip/ stubby grip.
While I do love the Galil ACE and have two of the rifles in real life, in BF4, the SAR-21 is hands down a more overall balanced rifle. The gun does not kick nearly as much as the Galil ACE, especially at longer ranges with a zoomed optic on it. The SAR-21 is also more accurate but only by a tiny bit. Hip fire is also better on the SAR-21.
Of course you can change that a bit by what attachments you put on it, but you sacrifice other attributes. Something that is not entirely realistic but hey nothing I can do about that... But if you're really willing, the recoil pattern of the Galil ACE IS learnable, just not the most practical according to BF4. All of this despite using the same caliber round (if you're using the ACE 23 AR/ Carbine in BF4 that is).
I say all of this with a bunch of use with both guns and have gotten rather familiar with each variant of the ACE in BF4 and the one I like the most is the DMR version of the ACE tbh. But that's just me lol.

@@Edisius95 I'm also very passionate about bf4, but never really played with the sar21, due to the slow fire rate of 600. I can just recommend the AR160 for precision, the F2000 for CQC and the Scar for Hardcore mode(high damage and tap fire beast)
Nonetheless, weapons are pretty similar, so it's more a matter of design and fire rate preference than anything else. I will certainly give the Sar21 a go in your set up :)
I would really hope we would see a Bf4 remastered someday with increased bullet velocity (you cant hit shit up to 200m with an Assault Rifle due to that :( ), the movement system of bfV which is superb, and a different way to balance classes. (Like why cant I pick a PDW as a medic)
      God that would be amazing
Also very cool would be if the next Battlefield was set in the cold war period, and a stronger Hardcore feel to the game, similar to Bf4 Hardcore....

I've said for years in that game is about what gun you shoot best with, lower rate if fire but if your more accurate and able to land every shot, your good.
Fast rate of fire for quick kills but can miss up too 10 shots sometimes for the higher rates like 900-950+
Some guys are good with high rate of fire but nobody is that good. And same for lower rate of fire as the lower rate makes it hard for the brain to time recoil while everything else around you is a much faster pace
For me I went m4, aku, ace for awhile and a91. I also like the Aug. 416 is a go too. And AWS or m40a5 sniper rifle
Also used the mix alot and sr2 smg

I have a Saiga Ak74 and a Riley Defense RAK74 but I wanted a milled receiver 5.45 and those are hard to find in Ak format. I don't even know if they make a milled receiver Ak74, but this one blows them out of the water. The Saiga holds its own but the Riley is garbage next to the Galil.

I neglected to say we were running the pistol version. All that being said, it is really a sweet package - huge improvement over the stock AK platform. We used a magpul QD sling up front mounted to the top rail and a blue force gear loop attachment with QD off the back loop to mount the Vickers sling. Nice little package. WIth a red dot unsupressed, we were hitting 200 yd man size steel. Recoil barely noticible. Basically, the only 7.62x39 I enjoy shooting. But it comes with a price - about 3-4x your standard AK.

I'll call it the FLEXIBLE FLYER after watching the slow mo of it in action. their own promo for the ACE shows the gun flexing but LAV's video shows the extent of the flex from the moment the gas block gets the hit and transfers it to the piston tip it shoves the gas block back sending a wave down the barrel whipping the muzzle around and also back to the receiver where it meets the vibration wave caused by the bolt unlocking and cycling. it looks like the entire receiver gets hit with a nuke blast and just has that instant shudder ripple effect. really kewl stuff to watch in hi detail slo mo. it is surprising they did not put a multi position gas block in the gun with the current trend for silencers and it might have made caliber changes easier to engineer if the restriction was a interchangeable gas plug in the gas block instead of a port in the barrel. great video!

LAVs assessment pretty much mirrors my thoughts. While I've enjoyed the times I've got my hands on an ACE, it's few shortcomings have kept me from getting one. I have an ACE in 7.62 NATO and if shit were to hit the fan, that would be my go to rifle. I would probably go for a sniper role just because of the longer range that caliber has to offer. I have mine setup in a DMR config. I want to get a silencer for it so it silences the shots and also conceals the muzzle flash. Having silent shots and a concealed muzzle flash would be ideal for combat in any scenario I can think of; especially when daylight is not at it's brightest, and large flashes can be easily seen at long distances. If they can hear where your shot is coming from, and can see your muzzle flash, your position is compromised and you will be targeted. I do not want to be targeted lol.

Eh, I would take this overview with a grain of salt. TFB TV did an accuracy comparison video with it against the Mini 30 and Yugo AK, and at 100 yards it was getting sub 2" MOA without the flex affecting an 8x scope accuracy. There may be other limitations, but accuracy is not one with this rifle.

@miguelucho 427 Sorry miguelucho 427. The update of the Galil ar done in Colombia is the Galil Cordova 12.
The Galil ACE is a design of IWI. The production licence of the Galil ACE has been sold to several countries, Colombia, India, Vietnam, Ukraine, Chile, etc. In Colombia the production licence for the Galil ACE, entitles Colombia to produce only Galil Ace in caliber 5.56x45mm and can only be produced for the armed forces of Colombia. The Galil ACE produced by Colombia cannot be exported and cannot be renamed in any other way.
The Galil Cordova 12 sold to Guatemala is no a Galil ACE, is the old version of the initial Galil with some cosmetic changes done, like a pistol grip, front vertical grip, a foldable ergonomic stock and a hand guard all fabricated in plastic by Indumil Colombia. Colombia also added a Picatiny rail to it to make it look modern.
Colombia is not the only producer of the old Galil, South Africa also produces an improved version of the old Galil named Vektor R4, R5 and R6.
Do not believe everything you hear in Colombia s sites.

Larry there's one more limitation to this rifle.
The recoil spring guide rod locking piece is made of polymer,as compared to metallic one in older galils. So after many continuous shots,it breaks and whole recoil mechanism fails down.

  • @JonathanWDuvall
    @JonathanWDuvall 7 років тому

Sgt. Vickers is absolutely right about over gassing the system. The gun doesn't run well suppressed. With it already being over gassed, when you add extra pressure from the suppressor, the action runs so quickly that it doesn't allow the magazine to feed fast enough to properly load. from an AAC SR7 full size can, we were lucky to cycle one or two times before having a misfeed. Take the can off, runs like a champ - but holy smokes there is a lot of flash - flash hiders only!! no brakes or breakout compensators. both suck and produce 12" or more of flash

I just picked up my Gen 2 Galil Ace in 5.45x39mm with the 16" barrel and it's straight 🔥. I just love it. I already had the Gen 2 in 5.56 with a 13" barrel and I really liked that, but I wanted a rifle length barrel and I do prefer 5.45 to 5.56. The only thing I like better about the 5.56 is the last round bolt hold open. The 5.56 also seems heavier despite the shorter barrel. I kind of like the heft of the Ace, it makes for a sweet shooter. I would like to put an adjustable gas block on both of them, but they both aren't extremely over gassed, but they could definitely use an adjustment. Especially if you plan on throwing a can on it, it's practically a must. Plus both of them Gen 2s didn't come with sights. 1850.00$ a pop and they couldn't throw in a pair of sights? What was wrong with the gen 1s sights? Besides that, it's an A+ rifle/pistol technically for the 13".
